Stayed one night in a deluxe room. Check in was seamless and friendly. House is nice, very old well kept and a great location. Bed was very comfortable and room was nicely decorated and clean. Room was very small with only a bed no where to sit, and also very loud could hear street traffic at night and in the...

The staff was awesome and was alway quick to help! We got married in New Orleans this weekend and they had decorated our room for when we returned. It was a little noisy because we were on the street side, but hey it's the French quarter.

Great location on Royal St. Historic residence converted to a hotel. Very walkable, very comfortable. A 'can't miss' location that is quiet yet only a few blocks from great restaurants and attractions.

One of the more interesting old residences turned into a small hotel. About 12 rooms on two stories. There is a public balcony with tables and chairs to sit and enjoy the view of Royal Street. Lots of antique shops, restaurants, art galleries and other attractions within a few blocks. Two drawbacks: No food available in hotel and it can...

Thid was such a blessing. My girlfriend and I came to NOLA to celebrate our birthdays and have an early Valentine's Day. After a terrible experience with an airbnb location, we knew we had to get something immediately. The price, location, cleanliness, and quality was INFINITELY better. THANK YOU!

Classic old hotel on Royal Street in the French Quarter. Beautiful balcony. Friendly staff. Beautiful rooms. Second visit. Look forward to our third. Great location to wander around the French Quarter.

Overall the hotel was very nice, my specific room faced the street and lacked any way to get privacy. With constant tours stopping at the hotel, it would have been much nicer to be able to shield all the windows.

Wonderful old hotel in perfect location. Very quiet at night but very close to anything in the French Quarter. Staff were very friendly. Sharon baked us cookies the day we came in. Reasonably priced and clean. Don't expect the Four Seasons. We would go back in a minute. Highly recommended.

We anticipated the room would be small; however, we did not anticipate it would be so dark. Light bulbs were out in the chandelier and only one table lamp was available. The bathroom sink drained slowly.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

The Cornstalk Hotel has been newly renovated and refurbished featuring fourteen exquisite guest rooms. Brilliant crystal chandeliers, antique mirrors and furnishings adorn the entrance hall, beautifully set off by high vaulted ceilings. The rosette scrolls, cherubs, medallions, stained-glass windows, fireplaces and canopy beds are all relics of a Louisiana plantation home. We are in the heart of the Vieux Carre' (French Quarter), with the sights, the sounds, the gourmet food and night life of old New Orleans. ... more   less
