I stayed in November 2016 after Thanksgiving with my spouse and 11-year-old daughter. Amazing location, quaint hotel, fantastic staff - however room #40 was in disrepair. Door had a hole in it from an old lock. Windows were in disrepair. Air conditioner blew room temperature air. The ceiling slants down on two sides and was straining for a 6 foot... More

Spent a long weekend with friends and family in New Orleans. We wanted to experience the richness of the French Quarter and booked rooms at the Lafitte Guest House located at a quieter end of Bourbon Street (not quiet mind you, just quieter because it's right across the street from the Lafitte Blacksmith Shoppe!) The staff was really helpful and... More

I am from Alexandria La. and I have been traveling and staying in New Orleans since I could drive. I have stayed at many New Orleans hotels for business and pleasure. After 40 years, I found a real treasure, the Lafitte House. We had another couple from out of state join us and we stayed in the 2 bedroom suite... More

The drinks are good, but a little expensive, but a must place to visit. Lafitte's is just a neat place and the location is very cool to go to because you will pass some really neat houses on your way down Bourbon.

whomecrazy, We thank you for writing but you may be trying to review the Lafitte Blacksmith Shop, which we do not own. We are the big beautiful house across St. Philip St. if you'd like to stop in and visit. We'd love to show you around. More

Stayed 4 nights in September. Great location, clean rooms, courteous helpful staff. Beautiful foyer. We left a cell phone in the taxi that took us to the airport. Front desk helped retrieve it and overnighted to us.

We stayed here for a bachelorette party and it was a GREAT location and a beautiful boutique hotel! We booked two rooms, one was a garden view and one was the attic. Both were beautiful! The attic was especially nice, spacious, and perfect for the 10 of us to hang out! It is about two blocks down Bourbon from the... More

My two friends and I came for a girls weekend. We wanted a fun relaxing time and a nice bed. This place was so charming and cozy we almost didn't want to go do anything we had planned, almost. The beds are the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on at a hotel. The balconies, yes more than one,... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
