Very nice small inn, close to everything but not too close. The third floor balcony room has a great view and beautiful furnishings. Bathroom could have been a wee bit cleaner, breakfast foods could have used checking on so that the offerings remained fresh, parking could have been managed a little better. But all in all, very nice.

First thing I have to say is George, Billy and KC are the best hotel staff I have ever had the opportunity to meet and deal with. What could have been a less than desirable hotel experience was made wonderful by the hotel staff. Yes, there has been a transition, new ownership. Policy and procedures had been changed with no...

I had a fantastic time staying in this hotel. The weather wasn't so great but the hotel had enough charm that spending time in it felt like it was also the experience of New Orleans. Each room is decorated differently, but all have the same theme. It was old but very clean and had no problems with the room at...

I left yesterday (1/14/17) after a 5 day stay. New owners were having the parlor painted and closed it off for one and a half days, with no access to the computer, and first floor hallways and stairs were full of painters, ladders and drop cloths for 3 days. The so-called free breakfast area was not maintained by staff until...

Stayed on the second floor in Room 23 with my hubby. Gorgeous room with fireplace and vaulted ceiling. Insanely comfortable king size bed as well as mini fridge inside the room with water ( oh, thank you!) Hotel staff was amazing to us. We had an awful family emergency and the staff went above and beyond to help us however...

Loved this cool little historic hotel. I read up about the ghost stories of this place and that increased the cool factor. It was close to area attractions and we never had to drive. The breakfast room with the balcony on Bourbon street was well stocked.

Simple, no frills, basic hotel in a convenient location. Pros: Good location; Historic charm (which could also lead to Cons); Nice front desk staff; Wifi; Free breakfast snacks/coffee; Has an elevator (small and old, but it works) Cons: Hotel management transition; Mysterious staff opened our package and an item missing (unresolved still); Issues with room 34 -- Room 34, 3rd...

My family and I (spouse and 2 teenagers) stayed here recently in Laffite's renovated attic space (room 40). This space is unique, with a fantastic view (see picture), just watch out for the angled ceilings along the front and back sides of the building (and you must walk one extra flight of stairs to reach this room, whereas the elevator...

My wife and I were looking for a last minute spot in the French Quarter for a wedding we were attending in early December 2016. It was colder in New Orleans than normal. The Lafitte Guest House ended up being a great spot to crash for a few nights. The staff was very nice and responsive. The only downside was...

I loved everything about Lafitte Guest House. Stayed here on my first visit to New Orleans over Thanksgiving weekend. The city was full of life and the hotel is located on Bourbon Street about one or two blocks away from all the action. My boyfriend and I stayed in the Haunted Room with a balcony that overlooked Bourbon Street. Everything...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
