The Sunburst Inn was an ideal place to stay. It was an easy walk to the Quarter but the perfect distance away from it, tucked into a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. We (two females) walked to Frenchmen and the Quarter every day and night with ease and felt safe. The inn was very clean and the room was perfect. The mattress...

You can't do better than this B&B. The level of comfort is way beyond other places I've stayed anywhere. The hosts are extremely thoughtful, helpful & informative and will help make your stay in this charming city much more memorable than you can imagine. An easy walk to Frenchman will find you among numerous restaurants, great music & the magic...

We stayed at this B&B for a few nights and were so glad to be in this area - surrounded by cute houses, great cafes and just a few minutes away from loads of great bars and restaurants, jazz in the streets, etc. Our room was large, comfortable, charmingly decorated and included a fridge which was handy!

This was by far my favorite part of New Orleans! It was our first time there and we were just crossing our fingers based on the reviews. We stayed for 4 nights in the Suite and it was gorgeous, a great price, and we could walk to everything. Even though we were there through arguably the coldest week of the...

Had a welcoming experience staying in Glen and Darrell's Sunburst Inn. Every detail about the accommodations were perfect. From the large living room to the soft and comfortable bed to the helpful suggestions of the hosts- you couldn't have asked for more. I highly recommend staying here.

We feel very lucky to have stayed one whole week at the Sunburst Inn and agree 100% with the comments of other contributors. We walked to the Cake Cafe every morning for the best breakfasts ever and used The Orange Couch for coffees too - both right on the doorstep of this charming accommodation. The beds and pillows are wonderful....

We were fortunate enough to book the Suite at the SunBurst Inn. To begin, Darrell was prompt in always responding to my inquiries. The Suite is simply fabulous; the King bedroom is awesome with the accompanying double showerhead shower with excellent water pressure. The large livingroom makes your stay feel like you're at home. In addition to being a fantastic...

On the strength of the reviews here on Trip Advisor, I booked a three-night stay at the Sunburst Inn during a (rare) November cold streak. Available was the Platinum Jr. Suite, the larger of the two upstairs bedrooms. It's one big room, approximately 20 x 30 ft, with 12 ft. ceilings and an adjoining bath with toilet and shower. But...

This is my second stay here, for the week of Halloween (8 nights). This house is in the Marigny, just outside the French Quarter, very close to Frenchmen St. and the music clubs. It is a quiet, safe, laid back neighborhood. Once again, I had the Diamond Room, with its enormous bathroom. Once again, Darrell and Glenn were excellent hosts....

On a lovely, quiet, safe street only 4 blocks from the French Quarter, the Sunburst Inn is the perfect place to stay in New Orleans. Away from the craziness and noise of the Quarter, but only three blocks from Frenchmen Street, where the real music happens at night. My room was spotless, the bathroom truly amazing, and the innkeepers were...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
