Hotel is very nice, everything was fine. We wanted a king, but queen room was fine. Well kept hotel and staff very nice. Great location. Beautiful lobby. Our room was very clean and the bathroom was well stocked with products. Did not try the coffee though. Went to Starbucks.

This hotel is ok for a short weekend, it's nothing over the top. The staff was friendly and the location is good. The rooms are outdated and could use an update. There is no safe in the room or a clock, so make sure you bring a lock for your luggage!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Whitney hotel. The location was great and the room was clean. However we did note that lighting in our room was a little dim, as the bedroom was lit solely by lamps that had to be switched on and off individually.

We enjoyed staying at such a landmark building. We were made to feel very welcome and the restaurant staff was super! A nice place to stay just a short way away from the hustle and bustle. Easy to get over to Canal Street and the trolley.

We stayed at The Whitney for 5 nights 6 days. The hotel was beautiful and the location was amazing. Close to the street car line, 1 mile to the convention center and close to many restaurants. The hotel was clean the bathrooms were spacious. We had requested a mini fridge for the room and when we arrived it was already...

We had a great experience at the Whitney and felt special with the treatment. The suite we stayed at was very nice and clean. We were very satisfied and will stay there again. We went to New Orleans for my wife's birthday and had a great time!!

I stayed at the Whitney because I needed a place close to the Jazz Educators Network conference. It was an easy walk, and half the price. I like older hotels with charm and sophistication, so this was right up my alley. It was quiet, cozy, and very clean. It was also apparent that the staff cared about the property, as...

Very nice stay. Me and my wife enjoyed the stay. The Hotel is a Historic Hotel... so it was really old fashioned. The only complaint is that it is really high priced for a hotel that doesn't serve free breakfast and no microwave.

This is a charming older hotel, with very friendly staff. The evening front desk gentleman was just wonderful! He recognized me every time I came into the building, which made me feel like people cared. You can tell the management cares about the property, too. My room was cold because it was unusually cold weather, but once I figured out...

The stay was quite pleasant, located in the heart of the business district, easy access to street cars, and not far from Bourbon. The valet service was prompt and courteous! The staff were respectful and knowledgeable of the area!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
