This had to be our worst hotel stay ever! Right from the very beginning we dealt with disaster. On the first night there was a water main break outside the hotel. They placed us in a room right above the construction that was going on down stairs. Being from New York we are used to lots of noise but the...

I came to choose this hotel as one of the options for a conference, with a lower conference daily rate than the main conference hotel, the Marriott on Canal. The room is spacious and especially the bathroom had a lot of room. Closet was somewhat small, but it comes with a personal safe which I used to keep my jewelry,...

Great location, slightly marred by construction outside the door (not their fault). Exceptional service by the staff. On this trip we planned nothing ahead of time, so we decided to reach out to their concierge Yvette. She took care of tour and dining reservations for our entire trip, and every recommendation was fantastic. I would book again here without hesitation.

Construction running from early morning until 9pm or later. Not the hotel's fault but they also aren't warning folks when they call for reservations. Also small rooms and generally dated. Driving to the hotel? Enjoy $50 a day for parking.

Stayed here for 3 nights for a business conference. Excellent location, close to French Quarter, Bourbon Street and all the goings on. Fitness facility is the typically small hotel variety but can accommodate 5 or 6 people at the same time. And it's 24 hours. Lobby staff are friendly and helpful. Lobby bar needs to be redone - one person...

My wife and I stayed 3 nights for a romantic getaway. The Pere Marquette is a fine hotel located just outside the French Quarter. The rooms are immaculate. We upgraded upon our arrival for a relatively small fee into a top floor room with sweeping views of the city. Good points: -The staff was fabulous. Knowledgeable and helpful during our...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
