Comps are better on the Gulf Coast. Employees are not very friendly and need customer service training. Machines should be kept up better. Definitely not a casino where anyone who plays slots is winning. Most of all, you shouldn't have to pay for a drink at a casino. Ever!!!! Buffet is good but way over priced.

Have been here a couple times and both times have been good. This is right by the water and next to the French quarters. Clean, great service, quite and fair price. Have several restaurants either in the hotel or right next to it. Casino can be reached through a tunnel that is very safe with security.

My husband was here on a business conference and was not able to do a lot of sightseeing, so I was kind of at my own devices. I was walking down to the Waterfront and passed Harris and decided to take a chance and see how my luck was. My $20 lasted an hour and a half and I walked...

This property has it all. Great people, location and excellent rooms. The one bedroom suite was well-appointed and had a nice view of New Orleans. You are only a couple blocks from the French Quarter. New Orleans is definitely a foodie's town. Restaurants are everywhere and music permeates the city. You owe it to yourself to stay at Harrah's

Our hotel experience was exceptional. The staff was friendly and always helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Our only negative aspect was lack of hand towels and wash clothes on our second day.

Room had lovely river view. Was given a super nice upgrade without asking. Husband liked the complimentary chocolates. So did I. Location was close to touristy venues. Staff were best we have expierenced in a long time. Actually seemed glad we were there. Pleasant change.

We were comped our room for our stay from Monday thru Thursday. The Hotel is very clean and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. This hotel is centrally located near all the must see's and do's. There is a trolley that runs throughout the city and has a stop conveniently located across the street. It cost $3.00 for the...

We brought the whole family, had entertainment for all. The location is great, we walked most of the time but did enjoy the carriage ride and I recommend taking the bicycle taxis, its worth it. Love this place!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
