The pictures of the exterior did not equate with what we came across. I booked this hotel based on its quirkiness and location. We discovered that the location is at the very bottom of the French quarter - something to bear in mind when one has to walk all the way to Canal street to find somewhere that has wifi....

Dear steffie2010, Thank you for your recent TripAdvisor review. We are happy that you found Richard helpful during your recent visit to New Orleans. However, our B and B clearly did not meet your standards--or ours, for that matter. The owners are SERIOUS about investigating what happened during your stay. For instance, whether they are on-site or not, our high...

Dear Denise G, In this day and age, so many people over-use the word "charm" to describe everything from doghouses to dinners. After having you as a guest for a decade now, we believe you know what you are talking about and really appreciate your kind words. Like you said, our staff is great--with Richard topping the list. Returned again to Banana Courtyard for the 12 year, again felt very special especially since Richard has returned to help with all the day to day activity. He makes southern hospitality something everyone could learn. Love the place and so happy we can return yearly to our southern family.

A very interesting place, lots to look at inside, the host was very nice and I really enjoyed staying here. At the moment there are road works on North Rampart and it does get a little noisy at times.

Dear Bruno E., It was great getting your review. We're so glad you enjoyed staying with us because we enjoyed having you! You're right, the noise and confusion on Rampart street is a little crazy at times, but please come back when the new streetcar line is finished. It will run right past our door and open up all kinds...

Wasn't sure what to think at first, but my experience and visit was very enjoyable! We were there with a group of girls, and I shared the Cajun room. The cleanliness of the room, the location in the neighborhood, and the balcony are great!! Have an open mind , enjoy the NOLA experience and you'll have a great time here.

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
