If you have nothing better to do than wait in line, this is the place for you. The elevators are slow -- sometimes it will take half an hour for you to get one. The lobby has the atmosphere of a bus station: just as loud, just as chaotic, just as crowded, but a bus station has much more charm....

Staff is generally friendly. There is a reason the Courtyard gets better ratings. Staying here for a week. Surly parking attendant front desk. No number to call down in advance to get your car "Just wait your turn". Concierge breakfast, yet another surly cook/server for the omelets. I got the prepackaged scrambled eggs after the first day just to avoid...

Stay for 4 nights for thanksgiving. Poor costumer service, rooms are too small, 80% of the personal are not happy. The only one good thing is the location and the M lounge, different staff. My room was not done for 2 days and didnt received any points for that. Marriott Status doesnt matter! Will not stay there next time. What's...

This hotel was great. It has an awesome view of the river and other areas to the south of the city. The pool is great and relaxing. Watch a when trying to pull in or out of this place. The traffic can get a little crazy. The member's lounge has amazing food and drinks available. It's also a great walk....

Stayed at this hotel in November. located on the main Canal street right next to the famous French Quarter. Everything within easy walking distance. Very efficient elevators but need to input the floor you need first. Rooms are very well equipped with very comfortable beds. Reception helpful too.

Upon checking in we were greeted by a great staff. The desk clerk couldn't have been more cordial. We were given a room on the 22nd floor, corner room with a great view of the quarters and water. The room was big, restroom was small. Since we had a corner room we had windows on all sides. The lobby area...

I stayed at the Marriott on Canal for the Alabama vs LSU game (in Baton Rouge) in early November 2016. The hotel was packed upon arrival but our check in was prompt and professional. Having arrived early our room was not ready (which I expected) so we check our luggage and hit the town for a while. I received a...

Nice Marriott property. Has a Starbucks located inside and a nice pool. If you would like a nice treat, reserve a high floor with a riverside view. We enjoyed watching the large ships making the turn in the river. We had a room with a king sized bed. Typical hotel room although the bathroom seemed small. Room service wasn't worth...

As with many big name hotels in tourist destinations quality seems to drop a bit. Being a typical Marriott means that you get what you are expecting when it comes to service and the rooms and the location. But nothing stands out particularly. The room was clean, but beginning to be dated. The gym was crowded (due to small size)...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
