This place has free parking, is close to the St. Charles Street cars, and has multiple food choices in walking distance. The first day we stayed, we walked to the French Quarter, but we took the street car back. We chose this place because of it's proximity to the Quarter, the free parking, and it's one of the more cost...

Spent 4 nights here in June 2014. The hotel was different and had more of a B&B feel to it. Staff was great. Room was big, clean and had everything you could want. If I had to find one complaint, it would be that since my room was an inside room (not directly off the courtyard), there was central air...

I originally chose this hotel for its location, price and FREE parking. What I got was all that and a whole lot more!! The staff was awesome--super friendly, helpful and informative. Guests were very friendly as well. My 7 year old son and I stayed here for 4 nights on vacation and loved it. We had the Double Queen room...

For two adults and a one night stay, it was great. We were in 123 so we didn't have to struggle with the lack of elevator that done other guests had difficulties with during their stay. Woman behind the desk when we arrived had gone to Mizzou so we took that as a good sign and she was a native...

I've just returned from a 3 night stay at the Prytania Park while in New Orleans for my daughters orientation at Tulane. The location was ok--there were some good places to eat nearby although at night it was very quiet on the streets. You can easily take the streetcar wherever you need to go and you can pick it up...

This hotel was better than we had hoped after all the reviews! We stayed in the biggest room and just loved it. The spiral staircase took a minute to figure out and was never a problem. Everyone was very nice. The breakfast was better than most continental breakfasts. The location was spectacular ~ lots of great places to go within...

Stayed here for FQF again. Such a nice layed back atmosphere after a full day in the Quarter. This was our third stay here and will be returning in October. The hotel is perfect for us. Clean, easy access to streetcar and offers free parking. Staff always helpful.

Situated in the Garden District, the hotel is ideal for short walks to plenty of eateries and shopping. The hotel has a private, free parking lot and free breakfast that you may enjoy in your room or at one of the outside tables.

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.

You have several options to choose from. There is of course, Walgreen's for the Soda purchase, but for ease and you can get both, Champagne- I would suggest Rouse's Supermarket in the Central Bus District, a streetcar ride, very easy. For sandwiches, The Grocery on St. Charles in the Garden District. You can walk, but its faster by the street car. It is appox. 1/2 mile from the hotel. I hope this helps.

The streetcar line is not completely out of service. It will take you down to the French Quarter area,, however, it does not pick up a block from the hotel like normally, you have to walk 3 blocks instead of 1 to pick it up. If you are heading to the University/Aububon Park area in Uptown New Orleans, the City Bus will pick you where the streetcar normally would near the hotel for the same price, and bring you to where the streetcar resumes service in that area.

The streetcar services are down in our area, approximately a 2 mile stretch is not in operation.

Hi, Thank you for your inquiry. We are 16 city blocks to the entrance of the French Quarter. You can speed walk it in about 10 mins, or take a leisurely stroll over no more than 20 mins.

You can always jump on the New Orleans Streetcar 1/2 block from the hotel for $1.25 per ride, or $3.00 for a 24 hour pass, and it will take you about 7 mins or so to get down there.
