Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

Very nice property. Comfortable room and bed. We attended Bourbon Festival which was based here, and was absolutely great. My only problem was with the Front Desk at check in. Very crass, bordering on rude. I made my reservation 6 months ahead, and the clerk tried to put us

I am a Hilton Honors Gold member. There are several Hilton branded hotels in New Orleans and after researching on TripAdvisor we chose the Hilton Riverside. We arrived by taxi from the airport $36 flat rate. I had never been to New Orleans before and we were staying 3 nights

The service was mediocre. The sleeping situation was bad. The pillows, mattress and sheets were old and lumpy and super uncomfortable. The bathroom needs to be remodeled. Cracks and unchaulk surfaces are very noticeable.

We really liked the location of the Hilton on Riverside. Really beautiful views of the Mississippi. An outlet mall attached to it. A short walk to the Quarter. Across the street from Harrahs. Far enough away from the Quarter to be quieter, but still close enough for some great walking. I also liked that I got to explore another part of NOLA - the warehouse district is right around the corner. Really neat. The St. Charles Hilton is nice, both need an update. St. Charles is in the CBD (central business district) still close to the quarter and the convention center. It's also right on the Green Streetcar line. the Riverside has the streetcar right outside their door. Hope this helps.

We arrived the same way. We arrived and called Uber. They were there in 5 minutes and it was probably a 15 minute ride to the hotel. It was around $10.

Coffee made in your room? In New Orleans? Surely you jest.
