The Hampton Inn - St Charles Ave is a great place to stay near the Garden District and to Loyola and Tulane Universities. The streetcars run down the middle of St Charles Ave and you catch them 24 hours a day. You can get a one day pass for $3.00. The Hampton Inn has been updated recently with very nice...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

We have stayed in several different hotels in New Orleans (the French Quarter, the Central Business District, Uptown) and the Hampton Inn located in Uptown New Orleans is our favorite place to stay. It is located on St. Charles Avenue so public transportation is right outside your front door with the streetcar. Self-service, off-street parking is located on the Hampton...

We're happy to hear you enjoyed your recent stay at the Hampton by Hilton - St. Charles Ave. Our location provides an ideal spot for those visiting New Orleans. With the St. Charles Avenue Streetcar running in front of the hotel it offers a convenient way to get around the city. We have many great restaurants and shops within walking...

We chose this hotel because it is a Hampton and based on the area and reviews it upholds the brand. We were not disappointed! The rooms are very clean and spacious! The staff is fantastic, there is free breakfast in the lobby area every morning and it's included in your stay. Parking is safe and onsite. The trolley is right...

Hotel is very clean. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Location was great! Very close to magazine st. Which has many shops and good restaurants. Street car stop right by hotel. Liked that I could travel to French quarter easily but in a more quiet area with kids. Beautiful homes around hotel. Very safe.

Great experience...lucky that I didn't have to pay for parking. I booked last year (2016) so the manager honored the agreement from my booking which was free parking. Now they charge. When you are already paying >$300/night for a room...things like paying for parking are a slap in the face. Overall a great experience.

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
