Here, you can look forward to enriching adventures, inhale freedom and mountain bliss, and do whatever your heart desires. Our hotel is in the centre of Mayrhofen, the birthplace of Alpine tourism in Zillertal. The famous Penkenbahn cable car is a short walk from our hotel and transports you to the ski and hiking area in just a few minutes, where you can inhale the fresh air and get a real taste of mountain life. Whether you’re looking for a hiking holiday, ski week, or short wellness break, our Hotel Strass is the perfect destination all year round. Off the ski slopes, winter hikes and cross-country skiing offer a welcome change of pace. And if sport and action in the midst of nature aren’t quite enough, you can enjoy even more active fun in the hotel’s gym, on the squash courts, the tennis court, or playing table tennis. I would like to thank you again for making my holiday wonderful. The issue with my room was very quickly resolved and the resolution exceeded my expectations. When I engaged with members of your Team throughout the hotel they were extremely polite and courteous. All the hotel facilities are still at the same high standard as previous years. I have not experienced this consistency with high standards at other hotels so it is commended. I am sure it is not easy to replicate year after year. The restaurant staff were very efficient with serving food and it is never felt that you are rushed or are waiting excessively. I would like say that David and Sagara are a credit to your hotel as they both always go over and beyond there duties. Sagara is always very friendly and makes you instantly feel welcome. Thank you again and hope to be in Mayrhofen next year, fingers crossed.

We stayed 9-16 September 2023 as a group of 10 and we booked through Inghams. ALL the hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming and gave great service with a smile. Reception staff very helpful. The hotel was clean and well cared for. Housekeeping staff were very polite and the rooms were cleaned superbly. Our waiter Zivan was 100% excellent and looked after us very well and he is so good at his job, we really felt cared for at our meals, such a pleasant man and we all loved him. The food was delicious and without exception. Really great choices too and nothing too much bother. The Spa is excellent and whilst on the lower level you need to be naked (not for us British friends!), the other two levels, you can wear swimsuits. We felt the jacuzzi was far too cool but everything else was really lovely. Fabulous smells in the steam room. VERY well done to you all. We hope to visit you again before long. Schön , Sie Kennenzulernen und Vielen Dank, Dawn McLean

I was here with Topflight. The variety at breakfast was good, and excellent at dinner. The staff were very courteous and helpful, especially Dario in the restaurant and his younger Romanian colleague. Bath towels, not bath sheets. The swimming pool is very small. I had an excellent massage. I could not sleep in my single bed, as it was wedged between built in furniture and impossible to move. I was moved to a twin room which was better. There is no air conditioning so the rooms were extremely hot, even with the windows open. The Ice Bar was not open, so no worries about noise at night from it.

Stayed here with TUI / Crystal Very central location in village, opposite supermarket and next to cable car. Arrived very late after delayed flight and long journey from Salzburg airport. Very tired and hungry so appreciated that they had left us a tasty cold meal in our room thank you! A large hotel with two seperate wings sport and strasse. Not sure if there is any difference but we were accommodated in the sport wing. Room was basic but stylish and very clean. TV's have English channels so no need to miss Eastenders! haha . For a hotel of this calibre toiletries were very basic in comparison to other 4 star hotels in Austria, eg no body lotion. They have a spa bag in the rooms but it is empty. getting bathrobes and towels to use the sauna and wellness area was a nounsense and very beaurocratic. Rooms were also very ho so had to sleep with balcony door open, fortunately we were ay back of hotel so this was not a problem. very quiet, no noise. Spa and wellness was excellent particularly on a rainy day . the best and biggest wellness area ive seen in any hotel. If you head down to the basement lots of different saunas , steam rooms, whirlpool. The best thing was there was even a swimming pool down in the sauna area which was fantastic as it meant that you swim completely naked , which we really enjoyed rather than messing about putting swimmers on and off before and after sauna. nice relaxation area with fruit and flavoured waters / juices available aswell. Food was excellent. rich buffet breakfast. plenty of choices for dinner and lovely cakes in the afternoon. Would stay here again because of the location and excellent spa/ wellness facilities which are all included in your stay.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel as part of our Inghams holiday. ALL the staff were incredibly helpful and polite. The food was very good and catered for vegetarian and vegan. We booked a junior suite and the room was spacious, very clean and quiet. We had a lovely view of the mountains. The only thing was we visited when temperatures were high and at present there is no air conditioning in the rooms. A staff member did say they will be fitting air conditioning later in the year. We would definitely book this hotel again.

On arrival I was shouted at by Harry on reception for not filling in the check in form fast enough. The print was miniscule and I told him that it was difficult to see. He quickly reprimanded me for this then took another person's credit card details for my booking. This of course means that someone else would have been paying my bar bill if I had owed any money. So be careful. I paid £1589 for 2 weeks at this place and was shouted at and told off- What a welcome. When I went to reception to return the room key and pay the room tax Harry ignored me and continued chatting to two men at reception. For the price I paid I expect a certain level of courtesy and it would have been nice to be warmly welcomed after a long journey. It is a shame that one rude member of staff should let a hotel down like this.

First visit to Austria for eight years and this time with a three generation family group aged from 7 to 73, travelling with Inghams. The location was superb being close to cable cars and supermarket , although 15 minutes from the train station. First time in this hotel and the rooms were excellent, very spacious and well appointed with walk in shower. Visitors familiar with Austria will not be surprised by a lack of tea/coffee facilities in the room or the sqare squashy pillows - extras readily provided. Facilities including the spa and small swimming pools were good, with good loungers in the garden. As mentioned elsewhere procedures for bath robes was somewhat bureaucratic. Table tennis and billiards were locked up with the rest of the spa at 9pm. We enjoyed the meal and menu choices. Staff friendly and accomodating. The only niggle was the need to make menu choices the night before - surprising in a hotel of this rating. All the staff were helpful and friendly which helped create a lovely atmosphere. We would readily return. The travel arrangements and local representatives of Inghams were excellent. If travelling with children the best lido in the area is at Zell am Ziller which is 10 minutes down the valley on the train and close to the station.

Stayed here for a skiing trip. The location is central and next to many bars and also the cable car station. There are plenty of ski hire shops nearby so there is no need for any long walks in ski boots. Ski lockers are plentiful and secure in the hotel basement. The hotel itself is excellent, we had a good room with comfortable beds and great shower. The food at breakfast and dinner was of a high standard with plenty of choices. The spar was the best I have been too, plenty of different sauna rooms and pools in the basement level. Staff were helpful and always polite. I would definitely recommend staying here for a ski trip.

This is a fantastic hotel! Lovely, spacious and well-appointed superior room, with a great South-facing balcony for relaxing and admiring the views. Cleaned to a very high standard every day. The facilities are exceptional, particularly the gym, garden with loungers, pool and spa. The spa is one of the best we’ve ever been to. The food was also excellent; great choice at breakfast and then superb evening meals with a menu that was very varied (although ideally it would be on a 14 day rota if I was being picky!). Special mention must go to our regular waiter Dario, who made us feel very welcome and always made us laugh. The staff at the hotel were always helpful and friendly, especially Harry on reception who went over and above to direct us to all the best walks in the local area, and they were some of our best days out. It’s rare to leave a place after a fortnight feeling like you wish could stay a bit longer; this is one of those places. Worth mentioning that the location could not be better; lift station next door, bus stop next to that, Spar for supplies across the road, and then a wide range of great bars, shops and cafes on the same road. We didn’t use the hotel bar (a bit 80s with the naff music, TV permanently set to old premier league highlights, overly-bright lighting…) but there are loads of great bars nearby so not an issue.
