Even after more than 20 years, we keep coming back each and every winter. You can expect to get a very warm welcome and enjoy a relaxing stay. The hotel is managed by two brothers who are the third in line to run the business. They are masters at blending their local Austrian / Pinzgau heritage with a more contemporary...

Lovely smaller hotel (~30 rooms ?) in a great location for a week-long, or longer, visit to the Tirol. The entire staff was very friendly, English-conversant, and helpful. One could not have asked for a better experience with the staff, including the front desk, managers, restaurant servers, and housekeeping. In my opinion, this level of service and friendliness is not...

The Hotel Berner is situated up a slight hill out of Zell am See. It is well worth the walk. We have stayed in many hotels in the Austrian Tirol, but this is our favourite. The hotel was beautifully clean and the food excellent, but what made the difference was the staff. The welcome drink on arrival was a good...

From the moment you enter the hotel you are treated as a member of the family. The Berner family take total ownership of everything that happens and personally Look after you with their staff The rooms are beautiful and paying a little extra for a lake view is worth it. Both breakfast and dinner (5 courses)are superb. All the staff...

A warm welcome from Gottfried Berner, one of the two brothers who manage this hotel, got our holiday off to a good start. Again, we were offered a complimentary drink whilst being checked in in the lounge. Our luggage was waiting for us in our room when the formalities were completed. We had booked a junior suite with lake view...

We have recently had our third visit in this hotel (all in summertime), and I can say that this hotel is without any doubt my favourite hotel worldwide. The main reason is the unique friendliness and hospitality from the two Berner brothers and their staff. They must have a magic touch on the selection and training of the staff because...

Dear Jan, Thank you very much for your really nice comment. We’ve already printed your comment and put it on our pin board so that all our staff could see it. Usually they get my brothers and my feedback, but nothing beats direct feedback from our guests! They were all very delighted! Thank you! We are looking forward to your...

We have just spent 10 nights at this fantastic hotel, we chose it because of it's elevated location with great views and the outdoor pool. My wife and I are both vegan and they said they could cater for us, and the food they served was fantastic, great variety, all beautifully presented and delicious. The hotel was spotless in all...

Dear fellorunner, Thank you very much for your great review and your nice comment about our vegan dinners! Great food is a very important component of any holiday – and served with a smile makes it even more important! Also thank you for recommending our family run hotel, but we do hope to welcome you again with us some time....

Just returned from a week at the Berner. The hotel was brilliant. The staff were so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was well situated within walking distance from town but yet still peaceful, as it was not directly in the centre or by the road. The elegant décor and spotless cleanliness throughout the hotel...

Just back from a week at this hotel. We have never been anywhere friendlier. All the staff, from the owners to the waitresses at dinner took a personal interest and were so friendly without being over familiar. We couldn't fault anything. The hotel is comfortable, the pool and spa were spotless and a welcome place to relax when the weather...

You quickly fall into a relaxed routine at the Berner, with its spotless rooms, charming, helpful staff and lovely views; the dining room waitresses were especially friendly. We failed miserably at being 'calorie neutral' thanks to the numerous courses at dinner: particular mention must go to the stunning hors d'oeuvres and desserts, which we reckon were the chef's favourite courses....
