Delightful hotel with excellent facilities and modern rooms. We managed to get a space directly outside the hotel which meant we avoided the €15 garage charge, which was an added bonus. Even nicer was the complimentary room upgrade we were treated to - meaning we had one of the suites at the front of the hotel. The tastefully decorated room had plenty of space, was well equipped, and the bathroom had a variety of Elemis products and an excellent shower. The blackout curtains were excellent, although it was quite warm in the evening and having the windows open meant we were subject to the loud stream of water running through the front of the hotel grounds. There are a lot worse noises to have at night, but bring earplugs if it might bother you (or close the windows, they offer excellent sound proofing).

Breakfast had a very impressive continental selection of breads and pastries, along with freshly made omelettes, and excellent coffee.

Would happily stay here again if we were to head back to the area. The staff were friendly and polite, the hotel has excellent facilities and it’s in great location being near the centre of town and within a few minutes of the lake.

Thank you for your detailed feedback and kind words. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Hotel Tirolerhof and appreciated the complimentary room upgrade to one of our suites. We understand that the evening temperatures and the sound of the water stream might have been a concern. We always strive to ensure our rooms offer the highest level of comfort, and we're glad to hear that our blackout curtains provided a good level of sound proofing. Should you visit us again, please feel free to request a room on the other side of the hotel for a quieter experience. It's great to know you enjoyed our extensive breakfast selection and the modern facilities of our hotel. Our location is indeed ideal for exploring both the town and the beautiful lake, and we're pleased that you found it convenient. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future and thank you once again for your positive review. Warm regards, The Posch Family and the Hotel Tirolerhof Team

We had a great stay in this lovely hotel which is perfectly situated in the center of Zell Am See. The food was exceptional, as was the service (- hats off to Francesco in particular for looking after us so well). You could see that everything on the buffet counter was freshly laid out and of excellent quality, from the fresh salads and meats through to the marvelous cheese selections. The cooked food and desserts were delicious and even the vegetarian in our group was very satisfied. The rooms were a good size and well appointed with good views of the lake or mountain. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel!

We stayed here for a week in January for a skiing holiday with Crystal ski. We were warmly welcomed after a late arrival due to snow and offered hot soup despite the late hour. We found our room to be clean and comfortable. We made use of the ski and boot room (although this would have been better with lockable lockers to prevent kit being moved by other guests). The hotel is well placed for a manageable walk in ski boots to the nearby lift or ski bus stops. We made use of the lovely pool and spa facilities and enjoyed these. But best of all was the food. The food and the fantastic service in the restaurant was exceptional. We also found the bar area lovely and enjoyed drinks there before or after dinner. We enjoyed the entertainment provided too - music at dinner, local dancing in the lobby area.

We had been looking forward to visiting here as we have stayed at a few other hotels in zell, and as this was the most expensive one we thought it would be way better than the others, it is not. It still is a nice hotel, the room was a nice size but it was really noisy, we stayed on the road side, maybe the stream side is quieter. Someone started their snow blower up at 5:30 2 mornings running, then there was deliveries half an hour later, no chance of a lie in.
The food was quite arty and wasn’t for everyone in our party, potato on porridge was one course, we had venison which was over cooked and lamb knuckle which too was over cooked, the puddings were nice and if you wanted to change the menu the kitchen would cook you something different.
Its the first time in over 20 years skiing we had to buy our afternoon tea, everywhere else in europe we have skied it has been part of the deal.
Make sure the bar staff have put the right drinks bill on the right room, they just couldn’t get it right for our party of 6.
The hotel needs to change their beer to anything but stiegl, not very nice, you will sell more if you do.
The spa and sauna were great, but it seems you have to book treatments well in advance as our friend found out.
All in all i don’t think we will be returning as the other hotels we visited were cheaper were more value for money.

Dear Ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much for your review. It is important for us to get continuous feedback from our customers to further improve our services. Our hotel is situated in the center of town but only 5 minutes from the nearest ski lift and 2 minutes from the lake. The "street" you are talking about is a dead end with our parking space at the end. This means there are almost no cars driving up or down. We are very proud of our food and the kitchen team. We do understand that some people rather have some steak and fries or chicken and rice. We do understand that you ordered other food (that we don't have on our menu) almost on a daily basis and got it without a surcharge. Our afternoon snack buffet consists of a main course, salads and desserts. This is included in our half board offer. We are not an all inclusive hotel. All drinks have to be paid - as is usual in almost every shop, coffee, restaurant and so on. All in all we thank you for your stay and wish you well Kind regards Family Posch

The Hotel Tirolerhof is a good quality, traditional Austrian hotel that offers a comfortable stay with a generally high level of service. There has clearly been great attention to detail in many areas though there are a few curious blindspots too.

We stayed over New Year for a skiing holiday with Crystal. The initial welcome was warm with a glass of fizz on arrival. The rooms are modern and comfortable though the showers lack thermostatic controls so flick from normal to scalding to freezing with frustrating frequency. The food is mostly fabulous and the family Posch were excellent hosts for the New Year gala dinner. The spa area is also great.

The biggest disappointment was the decision to sit a series of couples like us in the extension to the dining room in amongst a couple of large and very noisy family groups. It was like having dinner in an out of control kindergarten some nights. The management were not only indifferent to this but also wanted Radio Salzburg played through the tinny speaker system which was surreal; a commercial radio station played through low quality speakers hardly provides the right ambience for a 4-star dinner. It took several complaints from a number of tables to get it switched off though we never quite escaped the kindergarten.

There was also evident tension amongst the restaurant staff and some odd menu choices on offer. Our saviour was the wonderful Emil, our waiter. He was a model of professional friendliness and excellent service. The bar service was good and the evening entertainment quirky but generally added to the relaxing ambience of the bar area and warmth of the fire in the foyer.

The WiFi was weak with very low speeds; we generally used the free WiFi up the mountain which was much faster and more reliable.

Overall this is a great hotel though it needs to fine tune its customer service in the restaurant before getting 5 stars from us. The recipe book was a nice parting gift. Thank you.

- Great location: just 5 minutes walk from cityXpress Cable car, inside the historic center, near all bars, restaurants, and the lake of course!
- Excellent breakfast: nice selection, good quality, great service, huge breakfast sitting area (props to Roberta and the very nice lady making our omelettes)
- Very nice rooms: ours was a bit on the small side for 2 persons (and that was my only letdown) and the shower cabin was a bit too tight. Other than that, no complaints can be made. Room was serviced daily, beds were comfy, heating was adjustable, windows could recline, everything was functional and handy.

The hotel has a lot more to offer that we did not really use: A very nice bar area (with live music sometimes), Spa/sauna, a huge fireplace near the entrance etc. Would I come back to Tirolerhof? Certainly.

Finally, Zell am See offers a quite lively apres ski bar scene and a very nice selection of restaurants (local, international, vegetarian).

We stayed for 4 nights and were looked after very well by the friendly and efficient staff. The hotel was very comfortable and provided excellent amenities. The breakfast hit the spot each morning and the location of the hotel was easy for a stroll around town and the lake.

We had a brilliant week at this hotel in late January, booked through Crystal ski. We don't normally write reviews but our experience at the Tirolerhof was so good, we felt compelled to review it.

From the moment of arriving, when we were greeted in the lovely reception by a warm fire and a glass of Champagne, we were treated brilliantly by all the staff. Their service throughout the week we were there was fantastic - reception staff, bar staff, restaurant staff and cleaners were all friendly and happy to help.

The room was lovely and much more spacious than we've had in previous alpine hotels for similar money. It was warm, well equipped and spacious. The facilities in the hotel were also excellent - the boot room was more than adequate, the pool area is great after a day on the slopes, and the bar has a really homely feel to it with afternoon tea served at 4 which was perfect when getting back from skiing.

The food is possibly the best attribute of the hotel; as one of us was vegetarian, we were a little bit concerned about how well they might be catered for and had expected to eat out a few nights. How wrong we were! We ate in every night and the food was outstanding; plenty of choice for us both and more than suited our needs. Breakfast was also great and every morning there was the menu for the evening on your table, and also a leaflet with the weather forecast and things to do on which was a nice read.

Finally, for location, the hotel is perfect. It's close to the centre of Zell am See, but only a 5 minute walk (even in ski boots) to the nearest gondola and even less to the ski bus stop to head to Kaprun or to Saalbach. However, if the walk wasn't something you fancied, the hotel provides a shuttle bus to take you and your equipment up to the Xpress Gondola.

This was easily our best stay on any skiing trip, and we think in terms of overall experience, probably the best hotel we've every stayed in. Thanks to all the staff there for a wonderful time.

We were a party of 7 adults and we had the most wonderful time. My partner and I stayed in here last year and we loved it so much we brought our family back. We stayed in the deluxe room.

The location is great: walking distance to city express, the lake is nearby and the main town with the Apres Ski is close too.

Food: breakfast and dinner was delicious with a good variety of choices. I love that we had the same
Table everyday too, it was comforting knowing we didn’t have to fight for a table everyday. Our waiter Vincenzo was first class.

We enjoyed the spa and the bar area too, we used go down for a round of cards and a drink before heading up to dinner each evening.

On our last evening the waiting staff who were mainly Italian had been sent home after breakfast service. Austria was due to close their borders so the Italian staff had to leave to get home to their families which is understandable of course. The hotel owner drafted in his family to help with the dinner service that evening and it was all seamless and nothing was too trouble. They had to put on a buffet rather than a four course dinner but that didn’t matter as they had all the menu options available. The hotel owner was even clearing tables with a smile, it didn’t impact our experience at all.

We can’t wait to go back, such a special hotel.

This hotel has all the charm and appeal of a traditional Austrian building with all the modern trimmings that have been sensitively included to avoid spoiling its charm. The staff genuinely care about the customer experience and we always felt welcomed and looked after. Food is tremendous and its central location make it ideal for access to the town, we would definitely recommend this to other travellers

Hi if I remember correctly I think it was 18 30 to 21 00. Saturday night is a buffet. Every other night is set menu , waiter service. The meals are lovely and beautifully presented. You are allocated your own table and stays the same one throughout your stay. Dining room is beautiful and staff are excellent. I would go back tomorrow. The hotel is amazing.
