Spent an enjoyable week here, the weather was amazing which helped. Some amazing walks around a very beautiful village. Our room was big, as stated by others the bathrooms were a tad tired, but very clean. The staff were very helpful, and friendly, and the food consistently good. My only gripe would be the smell of stale smoke in the... More

We stayed here for three nights. The worst part of the stay was the consistent smell of cigarette smoke. The bar is at the hotel entrances and they allow smoking inside. Unfortunately, our room was right by the stairs on the first floor, so the smoke came up into our room. We should have requested a room change, but they... More

Friendly family hotel. rooms are very nice although the bathrooms could do with modernisation. cleaned daily which was great. very friendly helpful staff. good facilities including swimming pool and sauna - although a little perturbed by the European sauna nudity! Great breakfasts with excellent choice. Evening meals a tad hit and miss as often very unadventurous and bland. All in... More

This was our second visit to the Hotel Alphof, and it did not seem to us that there was as much smoking in the bar area as before. The variety and quality of the meals remains high and service in the restaurant is generally attentive and speedy. We did feel however that the housekeeping standards are showing signs of slipping.... More

Lovely Hotel, apart from smoking allowed in Hotel. Will not return till they stop it, its such a shame, as you would think Austria is such a clean Country. It is only a few locals who call in for a drink in the Bar who still do it.

We have just spent two weeks saying here and I must admit my opinion on the place changed over that time. To start with I was very unimpressed. As other reviewers have mentioned smoking is allowed in the bar but what they haven't said is the bar is right next to reception. The net result is that when you walk... More

Having returned a short while ago from spending a week at the Hotel Alphof, I felt compelled to write a review of my experience. We arrived early on Saturday evening and were greeted and shown to our room by the excellent receptionist Marie. Nothing was to much trouble and all the staff were polite and attentive throughout the week. Our... More

On arrival we were made to feel very welcome, the receptionist showed us to our room and explained everything to us. Throughout our stay all staff were very friendly. The swimming pool is not large but it's a warm temperature, with controls to turn on a wave machine in the centre of the pool and a type of Jacuzzi in... More

We stayed on a last minute break and were not disappointed. The hotel was very comfortable and from the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome. All the staff were exceptional, Hubert the barman, Lena and Marie deserve special mention. The food was very good with 3 main course choices every day. The highlight was cakes and soup... More

The room: despite it facing over the entrance to the garage which detracted slightly from the outlook, the view up the mountains was wonderful. Large and spacious, with very comfortable beds (the normal Austrian twin). The bathroom was a bit shabby, though - the radiator was rusty, and neither of the plugs (bath and sink) worked as they should do.... More
