After 5 years, we switched the location were we go skiing. The previous location was great, but we felt the skiing area had become too known and a bit limited for us.
We selected Ischgl and Fliana as our new spot and after so many great weeks, there is always this question if the new place will match expectations.
Well, Fliana certainly did.
Fliana is located very centrally, just a few meters away from 2 key ski-lifts, from a ski-rental office, from a shop, etc.
From the outside it looks great already, especially with the iconic pool on the roof: bit the inside is even better. You can tell that the family has personally been involved in all the decisions, as every part of the space has been thought through and turned into something special. The use of natural materials, especially different types of wood, has bene very well done and gives a warm atmosphere.
Our family room was very comfortable and we slept very well.
The highlight however was breakfast and dinner: lots of taste, good choices, good service and dinner was superbly served on the plates.
When we departed you could see the personal attention coming through: we needed to leave early, and the hotel staff helped us to park our car in the garage in such a way that this was possible.

Look forward to next year!

We have skied in Ischgl for several years now but our stay at hotel Fliana was a first. We weren’t disappointed. The decor, ambience and facilities are fantastic and our room was large and very comfortable. We stayed in a family room with our 17 year old daughter and the separate bedroom gave us all the bit of privacy we needed. We booked half board and found the standard of food delicious and impressive. Staff were attentive and pleasant and we were made to feel welcome from the start. To add to the experience the hotel had arranged live entertainment a couple of evenings during the week. Another nice touch was the array of complimentary snacks available in the bar area for hungry skiers upon their return from the slopes. The spa area is really lovely and the outdoor pool and whirlpool is definitely worth a mention. All in all we give Fliana full marks for a wonderful experience.

We stayed for 8 nights at Hotel Fliana and chose the hotel because we have a dog. The Deluxe Double Room was modernly furnished, clean, had a sleeping place for the dog, a large bathroom with shower and bathtub, a large balcony with views over Ischgl and a parking space with charging facility for our electric car in the underground garage. In addition, in the 6th Floor an access to the street to the outside as the hotel is built on the mountain. This was very advantageous for walking the dog for a short time. Every morning there was a great breakfast with great choice and in the evening a delicious 5-course meal, served by nice waiters. In the dining room we had a fixed table in an area where only guests sat me dogs. Since the hotel was not fully occupied, the tables had been allocated so that the dogs had sufficient distance to each other, which was quite appropriate for our dog as he likes to defend his territory. The spa area was little visited, which we liked very much. The indoor pool with light change invited to swim, the textile sauna we enjoyed daily. We did not visit the non-textile sauna, but it was also very little frequented. The outdoor pool with panoramic views was a real highlight for swimming, the hot tub outside was warm and we particularly liked it.
We also loved the included Silvretta card as it allowed us to use the open lifts and the Silvretta high road.
Overall a very successful holiday.

The overriding issue here is the attitude taken to issues by the owners themselves.

1. Our room had a stink of fish. The hotel was award of this before they put us in the room, but still have us the room without remediating the problem. Each day they were told that the smell still existed, they claimed that they made efforts, but the smell remained. They kept blaming the prior occupant who they claim was a Russian who liked to eat fish in his room. All this just meant to me that they knew all along that there was a problem and should have fixed it, or held the room until the problem was solved, which they did not do. Never once did the owners, who were fully aware, follow up and ask about the room, they waited until we complained each day. This lack of concern was a common pattern. Over 5 days, the smell remained, likely to be passed on to the next guest. If fish smells turn you on, ask for room 416.

2. When we arrived, we asked if we could bring our own wine to meals, we were told yes, provided we paid a 20 euro fee per bottle, which we thought fair, and in reliance of this conversation, purchased many bottles of wine. When we arrived for dinner the first night, we were told the owner had changed his mind, and we would not be able to bring our own wine on the other nights. A well run customer focused hotel would have honored their answer to us, especially since we relied on this answer. Although we repeatedly noted this the owner stuck by his guns.

3. The hotel charged 4 euros for each liter of tap water at dinner, and we drink a lot of water. Paying over 600 euros per room, for two rooms we found this very unreasonable, really gouging. When we approached the owner he claimed that this was the custom in Austria. Turns out that was a lie. We ate lunch at restaurants in town and on the slope and were not charged for tap water. Finally I asked a local waitress at a restaurant - Fire and Ice- and she was aghast that we were charged, especially given the cost of our stay. We found this to be highly annoying both with regard to the charge itself, and the lie told to us by the owner.

While there were many good things about the hotel, these three incidences demonstrated a lack of real customer centric service and care, and so we would not stay there again, nor recommend the hotel to others, unless you like sleeping with a fish smell, then ask for room 416.

I visited Fliana during my child’s vacation in February 2024. It seems to me that the owners of the hotel are taking advantage of the privileged hotel position, adjacent to the slope, to deprive the clients in other aspects.
First of all, the pictures on the website do not correspond to what you get in reality; I payed for a double deluxe room with 850 euros/ night that looked completely different on the website. The bathroom did not have a double sink and was extremely small, the room was very poorly furnished and, although the website said you can add two more single bed, they ended up extending a couch which occupied the entirety of the room. The view of the room was towards their kitchen ventilation and when I opened the window it created an unpleasant smell (and people come to the mountains expecting to open their window to fresh air).
When we tried changing the room the receptionists and owner were extremely rude and arrogant.
Although it would seem like they have a rebuttable restaurant, the food was very bad, cold and left at the buffet for hours. They even charged for their own bottled water (that came from the tap).
The hotel is not very clean either.
In short, they rely on the hotel’s great location to attract clients and thereby deprives them of services from other perspectives.

Hotel Fliana was the most dog friendly hotel I have ever been to. Not only were the rooms exceptional, the little details were really special. The dogs had their own dogbed, bowls and they have included a little treat for them upon arrival. The system with the tablet was incredibly helpful to get additional information about where to hike and great recommendations. The food was also really good. Each night there was a new menu and it was hard not to overeat. It felt like a full package. Could not imagine something missing. The owners were around frequently which gave it a personal feel of the place as well. Would definately recommend!

We have found our favorite hotel in Ischgl!
Pure enjoyment: Excellent food - a fantastic breakfast buffet - 5-course gourmet dinner in a very cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Exceptionally friendly, attentive and well-trained service, cleanliness 1+. The wellness area is fantastic: We looked forward every day to the well-heated outdoor pool with a direct view of the valley run and the wonderfully warm outdoor jacuzzi connected to the pool. The wellness area also includes several saunas (steam, brine, 2 Finnish saunas, heat bench and a textile sauna in the area of the indoor pool.

The location of the hotel is unbeatable: directly opposite the

Pardatschgratbahn and next to the Fimbabahn - so these cable cars can be reached in just a few steps. One of the valley runs ends directly opposite the hotel. Many après bars and restaurants are in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.

The rooms are very modern, comfortable and furnished to a very high standard - with great attention to detail - beds are great. We had a balcony with a wonderful view.

We felt incredibly comfortable all around and would like to thank the entire team for the super good service and for the incredible appreciation. We are already looking forward to our next vacation at the Hotel Fliana in Ischgl.

The winter holidays are approaching again and after many years in Fliana I would like to make a small statement. We had our first stay in Fliana in 2012 and have been able to enjoy our winter holidays in Fliana 7 times so far. In 2023 we were even guests in Fliana in January and April.
As soon as you arrive and enter the reception, you are greeted with a warmth, friendliness and professionalism that makes you feel like you have arrived on holiday. All rooms were differently designed and offered all the comfort you could wish for. Every little extra request was implemented directly by the hotel team. The breakfast is super rich and offers a huge selection of all imaginable delicacies. In addition, a nice chef is always on hand in the morning and conjures up the most delicious omelettes, fried eggs to order and much more. In short, more is hardly possible. After breakfast, thanks to the perfect location, you can get straight into the gondolas to go skiing. Both cable cars (A2 Pardatschgratbahn or Fimbabahn) are just a stone's throw away, so you can easily start your day from the ski cellar without having to walk long distances to the cable car. After the day, you can relax your muscles with a nice drink in the outdoor pool, for example, directly on the valley run. In general, the wellness area with its many saunas and two pools offers many opportunities for relaxation and great hours of well-being. At some point, dinner beckons. We have been delighted with every holiday so far, the great courses and presentations. Also very important is the super friendly treatment of our junior. The little man was always served an extra meal that puts a smile on children's faces.
In addition to all the direct service in the hotel, the guest's wishes are also taken into account, for example when making booking changes.
A huge compliment to the boss Hildegard and the junior boss Kathrin, who always hold the reins and give us as guests a great holiday with their team. We are already looking forward to our next stay at the Fliana.

Hotel location is very good, close to the main street and very close to the main gondola to start the ski day. It is not a ski in ski out and the ski room is one floor below street level with no lift but walk only. There is no in room coffee or tea, the reception wont always answer for a call from the room, you will need to wait long time during breakfast to get omelet as there is one person with one pan preparing it for all guests.

Arriving at hotel Fliana (note: don’t drive on the skislope, the parking actually is just right next to it), they wil ask for your carkeys but no panic, that’s also the moment when the spoiling begins. Extremely helpful and goodhearted people at the reception to make your stay unforgettable from the very first second. Our fisrt impression of the hotel was modern and trendy and that was the baseline for the room as well. It was quit spacious, and our favourites were the super comfortable bed and of course the magnificent view on the main slope of Ischgl. From the bed we were able the see the skiers and snowboarders come down the mountain and that was quit a (funny) view sometimes. We could write an intire book on the food but if we had to describe it in one word it would be extraordinary. The combinations and the choice were endless. Only loads of love for the best waiter we have ever had, Laszlo, because of his wonderful attitude and great jokes the food was even more special. We couldn’t imagined anything that wouldn’t be there on the breakfastbuffet, something we had never experienced before. Not one question was too much for the staff, always ready to help with a big smile. We made great memories that will last forever. Thank you all, we would love to see you again one day. It wasn’t cheap but hotel Fliana was worth every penny.
