Dog friendliest place with quality experience

Hotel Fliana was the most dog friendly hotel I have ever been to. Not only were the rooms exceptional, the little details were really special. The dogs had their own dogbed, bowls and they have included a little treat for them upon arrival. The system with the tablet was incredibly helpful to get additional information about where to hike and great recommendations. The food was also really good. Each night there was a new menu and it was hard not to overeat. It felt like a full package. Could not imagine something missing. The owners were around frequently which gave it a personal feel of the place as well. Would definately recommend!

Brilliant hotel - Mr & Mrs Smith style place

We are staying for 2 weeks in Ischgl and have stayed in this resort a few times but in a different hotel. Our family has flown out today to spend the second week with us and enjoy some time together. I am really writing this review in defence of the hotel having read some of the reviews about the ‘rude’ staff, failing to book other restaurants in the resort and ‘poor’ food. I used to work for the UK’s largest hospitality brand and know how hard it is to get everything right all the time. I also know some people are never happy. The staff are excellent. They speak good English and whilst I can name check Tom and Jessica, the other people in the bar reception and restaurant are all equally brilliant. There is a lift up from the ground floor - it’s at garage level so you don’t have to carry your luggage up the very small flight of stairs. There is also Jakob (I hope that is how you spell his name) who helps with luggage should you need it. The rooftop pool is great fun and yes some children do get excited but then so would I if I was 5 years old so shall we all try to share the space and the experience and be kind……. I don’t recall seeing the rooftop pool being able to be for just one person anywhere advertised 🙄 The food is good - variety, interesting, well served and the wine list is spectacular. Finally if you want the Four Seasons, go to the Four Seasons. If you want great ski-ing in a great resort, a well behaved and staffed hotel, the Fliana is your place. Oh and by the way, this is a boutique hotel (think Mr and Mrs Smith style) so the space of the dining room is fine. Jane - Fliana Fan ❤️…

Nice hotel but not a 5*

Hotel location is very good, close to the main street and very close to the main gondola to start the ski day. It is not a ski in ski out and the ski room is one floor below street level with no lift but walk only. There is no in room coffee or tea, the reception wont always answer for a call from the room, you will need to wait long time during breakfast to get omelet as there is one person with one pan preparing it for all guests.

Great skiing experience!

Excellent location for skiing, comfortable amenities, excellent chef and very helpful staff. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will come back again for sure. The staff did everything possible to meet all our requests and were very flexible with everything.

Nice place for winter holiday

our ski vacation is almost over. from 28.01. we are guests at Hotel Fliana in Ischgl. I want to share that we were not very lucky with the weather and conditions for skiing this year, but we were lucky with the hotel we chose. extremely clean and organized, lovely rooms. The food at both breakfast and dinner is very well selected and extremely tasty. Definitely recommend to all ski lovers. The perfect location is also not to be underestimated, you just leave the hotel and get on the lift.

Charmless

We chose Fliana to be near a lift. It is certainly convenient in that regard. Crystal Ski list this as one of their “Finest” choices. They say it’s all about style, comfort and service. Really? Let’s take a look. Firstly, style. It has plenty of tick-box things that get you to it’s official rating but really no style at all. The interior is that of a business hotel in a city, clinical and lacking any grandness. The room decor was uninspired and the bathroom very plain. Crystal say “bright and airy rooms have lots of wood panelling and furniture.” None of that in our room and after speaking with other guests it seems that their rooms were as stuffy and poorly ventilated as ours. When you arrive it is immediately obvious that ski bags will be difficult to get in through the narrow lower entrance or up the external stairs to reception. In any hotel of this rating it is normal for a porter to assist with bags. Not at Hotel Fliana it seems. For skiers the locker room is inadequate. It is too small, with insufficient seating so you often have to put boots on while standing up or sitting on the floor while other people squeeze past. In any normal hotel of this rating there is an array of cakes, etc, waiting when you return from skiing. At Fliana it was mostly cheese and biscuits and some fruit. Hmm, a bit like the “champagne reception”, which was simply cheap prosecco. Now to the dining. There are two restaurant areas. The main one is cramped and has no windows. After five evenings enduring the tables of very loud, shouty men, we finally had to complain. Although this was met with an indifferent, unapologetic approach by a senior staff member, we were moved the next day to the other area which is slightly less cramped and does have windows. Laughably, we could still hear the shouting from the other area. The breakfast offering was adequate but unremarkable for this level of hotel. On three mornings nobody offered us coffee until we went to find a waiter ourselves. The evening meals, however, were below the standard expected, except on the gala dinner night, which was fairly interesting. On one evening we asked for our main course to be taken away, half-eaten, as it was so bland and disappointing. Other guests we spoke with felt the same and one couple who had stayed here in the previous year commented that the food was worse this year. The waiters/waitresses were mostly pleasant and enthusiastic apart from one tall man who glares menacingly like a face on a Wanted poster. I didn’t see him smile all week. Full marks to waiters Stephanie, Markus and some of the others who gave this hotel it’s only serving of friendliness. There is a reasonable pool on the first floor. The novelty rooftop pool is fine when it is fairly empty. You might enjoy the basement saunas if you like sharing a small room with blubbery men stretched out taking up all the space. Perhaps don’t bring the kids. The bottom line is that this hotel simply does not achieve the same level as other 4S-rated hotels that we have stayed at in Austria. For example, Hotel Tirolerhof at Zell am See is another Crystal Finest but it is a truly grand, warm experience with superb food, welcoming staff and, of course, plenty of Austrian charm. Hotel Fliana has none of this, look elsewhere.…

Good Food and Good Location

Great hotel right next to the slopes and apres ski bars.. Although closeness o these bars are good some noise should be expected but we were not bothered too much. Rooms very well appointed and very modern and spa is also decent. Food amazing was also fantastic here. All the food good really impressive and a massive breakfast selection. The staff were friendly as well. We would love to come again.

Highquality hotel with surprisingly low service level

We, 2 adults and one child, stayed in a so called family room ca 55 m2 with balcony and view of the slopes. Our opinion of this hotel: - High quality Hotel - Very low service level - The large dining room is without windows and boring. The smaller dining room is good with windows and a nice atmosphere. - Good Spa in the Hotel with a very nice roof top pool - Good breakfast - Dinners of medium level. Nothing special - If the service was better the Hotel would be good choice but with the level we experienced takes it down to an absolute No. The charge for our room was ca 1000 Euro per night. At that price level one thinks one could find hair conditioner on the Hotel or get help to find it. One also expects to get help to make reservations for lunch restaurants in the slopes but NO that is not possible. The place, Ischgl, is very nice with good skiing so we absolutely recommend that.…

Skiing Holiday

Great hotel, next to Gondola. The food was delicious and our room had a great view of the slopes. Would highly recommend. No negatives. We travelled Monday to Monday which made hire of skis etc easy as very few other people in shop. Hotel very clean and the whole team at Hotel Fliana very helpful.

Do not stay here

Good location but overall hotel experience was horrible. Staff is rude and unaccommodating, overall hostile atmosphere and not quality. Service is poor and the restaurant is nothing but a disaster with average food. Would recommend going to another hotel if traveling here.
