The Staffler sits in the centre of Niederau, in the heart of the Kitzbuhler Alps, close to ski schools, hire shops, the main lifts and nursery slopes. The hotel is the resorts oldest, most well known and offers guests a relaxed and informal atmosphere. En suite bedrooms are simply furnished. A number can accommodate additional beds, some have balconies and all have mountain views. There are also a limited number of interconnecting family rooms. On the ground floor is a comfortable reception area, O'Malley's bar - always popular and busy, a fantastic sunny terrace and a bright and airy dining room. Streamed sport is available in O'Malley's and complimentary high speed wifi is also available throughout the hotel. A complimentary buffet breakfast and three course dinner are served each day. The Staffler is uniquely not Saturday to Saturday specific - guests can arrive and depart at anytime. The hotel is multi-award winning including it's ranking on TripAdvisor, the recipient of their 'Certificate of Excellence' for the past eight years, the only hotel in the Wildschonau to have their coveted 'Hall of Fame' award and a unique recipient of their silver 'Green Leaders' ECO award. Last season the Staffler received their 'Travellers Choice' award - voted by TripAdvisor reviewers, rating the hotel one of the top 25 hotels in the whole of Austria for families and service (number 14 in fact). The hotel is pet friendly - dogs especially. Late flights on the last day of many a personal holiday have always frustrated so we will always endeavour to make at least one room available for showers and changing for guests on afternoon or evening departures from the hotel - and at no additional cost. All guest bookings are made directly with ourselves or with a small number of Online Travel Agents. We do not look after any specific Tour Operator clients. If you are looking for a luxury hotel with lots of amenities then the Staffler is probably not for you but if your accommodation choice is about outstanding service, complimentary Ski Guiding subject to conditions and lots more besides then the Staffler will satisfy - and how!

The hotel has a great location the staff are fantastic and very helpful. The guiding is great for singles and groups of mixed abilities . The food is unbelievable and the prices are very reasonable. Yes it 2 star rating is based on amenities are less than the big 5 star hotels but if you like to ski eat and drink well this is your sort of place. And clean Eddy Woolley

Hotel's Favourite
For over 35 years, Nicholas and Yana have been picking the best ski guides, chefs and hotel staff to make their ski holidays the best they can be. In fact it’s not just a team of staff that they put together. It’s a family. And every year it grows a few more as more guests live, feel and enjoy the Staffler experience. It’s truly a unique thing. Herr Brooker is one of a kind as the screaming front man. Once seen in action, never forgotten ! And the infectious enthusiasm and energy pervades the whole team. Customer delight always at the forefront of everything they do. Nothing is ever too much. Just don’t ever be late for the ski guiding minibus. 🤣 The ability to ski such a massive area with such knowledgable guides is an unparalleled and unmatched experience. The reason no one does it anymore is because it takes time, energy and immense organisation. It is so hard to get right….but when you’ve done it as long and as successfully as the Brookers have, then it becomes the icing on a truly great cake - so long as you can get around the mountain in some form… then it’s open to all and very family oriented. On top of everything else, it’s what makes the Staffler stand out from the rest. Beers on the sun bathed terrace at the end of the day, themed evenings that will have you laughing all night (and in to the early hours in the cave bar) and food worthy of any establishment with many more stars. You can’t have more fun than this. It’s truly a lovely old job. Love the Staffler. ❤️

The Staffler is like a second home... as soon as I arrive I feel the love from all the staff; have all my needs met such as the ski pass and easy access to ski and boot hire; the food is just like home cooking; the rooms are cozy and comfy; we are taken to the best snow and slopes every day; and the bar in the evening is so friendly with the best atmosphere!!! It always makes me so happy to be there :)

There is no other hotel in the world where you can travel to alone and leave with 20 friends for life. I have been going to the Staffler for the better part of two decades and I have made so many friends and have had some of the most memorable holiday experiences of my life there! The service, staff and experience are out of this world, the Staffler truly is Shangri-la!

Perfect setting surrounded by beautiful mountains and hillside cabins; access to the best resorts with guaranteed skiing; daily exceptional ski guiding; unique, kind and funny owners (Yana and Nick); delicious food; comfortable welcoming rooms; loyal and dedicated staff; and lots of guests like me who just keep on coming back, several times a season, year after year - who wouldn't??

What a great time at the Hotel Staffler! As soon as we arrived at the hotel we were welcomed by Nick, Yana and their amazing staff. The rooms were cosy and clean while the breakfast and dinner were always great. The bar and cave were really good and both had a great atmosphere and the hotel itself is in a great location. The knowledge and experience of the team to help provide us with the best skiing experience is second to none even though Nick had to try and get us going in the morning after a few too many beers. Cannot recommend this place enough and would go back in a heartbeat. So many nice people and the hotel is so unique. Richard W

I first visited the Staffler in 2012 and I've just returned from our 8th visit which I think says it all. We usually go in a large group of mixed friends and family friends and all levels of skiing abilities from non skiers, beginners to advanced. The gem of a hotel is in a great place as neiderau is a great little resort for beginners and getting your ski legs back if you arrive in time to ski on the day you travel. You then can get a bus ride to auffac which connects to alpbach which is great. But for me the best part is the guiding service they offer! This year we only went in a group of 6, I went off and guided on my own and had a blast. The team are always friendly, welcoming and great fun. And if your lucky especially later in the season you may get treated to a day at kitzbuel or further like zillertal. The afternoons you return from your skiing to a very friendly and homely atmosphere, with cake and tea or beer whatever you prefer. Evening meals, you certainly never go hungry and they are amazing. Lots and lots of soup 🍲 if you know you know. We were lucky to be there on a themed fancy dress night which was absolutely fantastic followed by a few drinks down in the Cave bar. You can check out but you can never leave! We will certainly be back again Thank you to Nick, Yana and of course your absolutely fantastic team xxx

I had heard so many positive things about Nick and Yana and Hotel Staffler....but none of it prepared me for the brilliant few days spent there. I have never experienced anything like it, a place where you go for the first time and feel as if you have known them all for years.....everyone making such an effort with all of the guests, fun (bonkers would describe it well!) the whole time, wonderful guided skiing, great food and drinks and even a club downstairs...I felt genuinely sad to leave!! My birthday celebrations will never be forgotten!! I think once experienced I'd never want to go anywhere else....from thinking that my skiing days were probably behind me as I had lost interest...my skiing holiday desire has well and truly been reignited! Thank you Nick and Yana and your gorgeous team for giving me and my family (and our lovely group of friends) such a wonderful holiday. See you in 2024! xxx

You've heard of Crystal Ski, this is more Crystal-Meth ski! This hotel is not for the faint-hearted. Nick and Yana warmly welcome you to the Staffler. Nick Models himself on a modern(ish) Basil Fawlty, although considerably louder, with regular countdowns to dinner, departure and instructions to dance on your chairs conducted at max volume. While Yana, seemingly holds it all together not unlike Sybil. The rest of the staff are equally batshit crazy, from the sinister looking (but very lovely) barmen to the maniacal (snow) board guides who are not only talented but passionate about their sport. There is clearly a work hard, play hard mantra in place. The evening meals were exceptional, considering the hotels mere 2 star rating and I loved the fact that the staff that weren't working sit and dine with you, they really are a great bunch of people, and undoubtedly the main attraction of the hotel. If this hotel doesn't make you laugh out loud you must be dead! Cheers guys.

A regular guest at the staffler for over 20 years. The hotel must be doing something right! I have skied all over Europe for the last 40 years and have decided to leave all my ski gear ln the hotel for when I return hopefully 3 times a season. Huge ski circuit in the ski welt ski area with free a free guides provided by the hotel. You can choose which level of ski ability group to join and meet your friends in other ability groups for lunch that day in the best reserved tables in the best restaurants in the area. Nick and Yana the hotel owners go out of there way to make you welcome providing great service including top end food in the eve and entertainment. Yana even has your lift pass waiting for you in reception on arrival so no queuing at the lift station in resort. I have never done some much skiing in a single day in different resorts. Never again will I go back to boring old France to ski. I could keep going with this review but I think you get the idea. Trust me it is the best ski holiday you will ever have. Well done The Staffler in Austria.
