Had 4 good skiing holidays here & loved Neiderau, but wont be going back. Hotel is clean and acceptable, but decor is dated & tired. Food menu hasn't changed in 4 years but is of reasonable quality. English is spoken well, so no need get the txt book out. Great bars in town.

Lovely trip away very nice family run hotel. Very homely and very welcoming. Food is nice. A couple of things in my opinion would benefit this lovely hotel. The bar being open throughout the day (its only open in the evening after dinner) More english speaking channels in the hotel room and a kettle and tea/coffee condiments in the hotel room. Really enjoyed my stay and would recommend looking to return next year in the hope the small things i have suggested would make a huge difference :) Thank you to all the staff x x

We have just spent a week at Hotel Hannes and received a very warm Austrian welcome. Thanks Reggie, Hannes and Michael. My husband broke his arm on day 1 and the hosts went out of their way to help arrange non- ski activities (giving us information and timetables for day trips to Innsbruck and Salzburg- both of which were very successful and enjoyable). Hannes even arranged for a skidoo to take and collect us from the top of the gondola in order to reach a ski in/ski out only restaurant. The hotel itself is comfortable and friendly. The food was hearty (breakfast 8-9.30, set dinner at 6.30pm) and there is a spa (sauna and steam room) available to use in the late afternoon after skiing. Rooms are a decent size, with a balcony (but no tea/coffee facilities so bring a travel kettle!) and Austrian style beds. Niederau is nice and pretty, and there was a lovely walk into Oberau for those not skiing (or visiting the doctor!). The best skiing is in Auffach, a short bus drive away (stop just outside hotel), which we will need to return to experience as our skiing cut short!! The hotel would also be a great base for summer walking holidays, so we may return for that also!

We went back! Lovely hotel.Fantastic family that can’t do enough for you.We had a lovely welcome from them.Meet some really nice people there that keep returning back nearly every year and after our second visit we know why.Hopefully we can return next year.Skiing was excellent in Niederau and on a short bus ride to Auffach where the skiing was incredible. The lunches we had on the slopes were outstanding and quite reasonably priced. On the advice of Hannes from the hotel he recommended what to eat at lunch time. Rooms were comfortable and very warm.Hot shower always. The evening food again was superb again with a lovely salad buffet a couple of times a week.Breakfast had everything you need to start the.Scrambled eggs are the best I’ve ever had,I don’t know what they do with them but they are fantastic. All in all me and wife had a wonderful holiday here and we really hope we can return next year.

I'm just back from a ski holiday having met up with my family. Hotel managed to put us together which was idea, 3 rooms in a row, my brother, wife and 3 children were returning for a second year in a row. Wonderful warm and informative welcome and after an arriving after dinner a hot meal awaited us all. I was surprising the kids and Hannes was just as excited as I was for their reaction. Rooms were spotlessly clean as was all the accommodation including the ski and boot rooms. Breakfast is a great continental buffet and Mum welcomes you in the morning. Engaging and great fun matriarch of the family. You choose from two dinner options at breakfast. Every evening we were welcomed by Hannes, his younger brother and served efficiently with great friendliness. The whole family are so adept at working with tired kids and making every interaction fun. Food was excellent with Dad cooking everything. Genuinely one of the best hotel experiences I've had and I travel 8-12 times a year. Highly recommended!
