I would really have to start picking nits if I were to find things that I didn't like in hotel Post. Traditional 4-star alpine quality. Everything is easy, comfortable, efficient and well thought of. Great breakfast (even a few gluten-free options) with a lot of options, nice, warm and clean rooms, with nice views (we got mountain view). Comfortable beds and pillows (needed an extra one), controlled temperature and a spacious bathroom to top it off. All expected amenities (from bathrobes and slippers to shower gel are available. I should also point out that all staff (from the cleaning staff to the reception staff) were very polite and helpful. Did I mention that the location is also excellent? Very short walking distance to 2 gondolas and all restaurants and bars in the village. I would definitely return (even though the price is a little steep as is almost everything in St. anton)

You know you are at a truly great hotel when the bar staff are friendly and interested. Also when the salad accompanying the evening meal is simply fantastic. There is nothing I can add to suggest any improvements to this great hotel. I intend to return at some point in the future.

TLDR: Theft @ this hotel. I’m disappointed in my experience here as the cleaning staff stole my hair products & when I informed the front desk, they said they spoke with the cleaning crew and they denied it so there’s nothing they could do for me. I would’ve given this places ~5 stars, but took away 4 stars because I’ve never had theft at any hotel I’ve stayed at. While the food is good, the location is nice, and the rooms were clean; safety is #1 for me. I plan to return to St. Anton, but I will not stay here again nor will I recommend it to anyone.

Just came back from a ski and very little to fault about Hotel Post, the complaint I would have is there is not enough seat/benches in the ski room. But to be honest you never had to wait long for a space. The room/hotel is very clean, and could not fault the food and staff. The location is great, right in the centre of the village.

An excellent traditional hotel conveniently located to access St Anton’s network of lifts. OK, so some details. Firstly location and setting. The Hotel Post is centrally located in the traffic-free main street, allowing easy access to the Gampen chairlift and Galzig and Rendle gondolas, all within a five minute walk. It is right in the central area of St Anton’s shops, bars, restaurants and ski-hire places, few hotels are more perfectly located. It is not ski in / ski out, but let’s be realistic here, few places in St Anton are, unless you are seriously loaded, and don’t expect wide, sweeping mountain views. Don’t forget, St Anton is in a deep valley with steep, imposing mountain sides right in your face! The hotel itself is very nice indeed, and very traditional: well maintained, clean, warm; very comfortable and lots of character. Reception is bright and spacious, a lift from there leads to all floors (including down to the spa and boot room), and reception accesses the bar, dining room and lounges. The hotel has several lounges, affording space for afternoon tea, or natural focal points at the end of a long day to relax, enjoy a drink and meet other guests. The main lounge connected into the cosy bar, with another lounge adjoining on the other side. Our room was perfect for us, in fact quite large, with views south over the main pedestrianised street towards the valley flanks. Large windows and a door to the balcony afforded lots of light (with heavy curtains to keep out the light from the town). Spotless on arrival, and with excellent cleaning services, remained so throughout. Comfortable bed, lots of storage space (vertical hanging and horizontal), television with 160+ channels, a desk, chairs and a comfortable sofa. No complementary drinking water provided, but St Anton’s water is good to drink from the tap. The excellent bathroom was also spotless with a combined bath / shower. Toiletries were provided, more than sufficient towels laid out and always enough hot water. The only thing we missed was a kettle and stuff for tea / coffee at the end of the ski-day. I know afternoon tea was on offer in the lounge, but sometimes it’s just nice to flop in ski kit! We did use the (unstaffed) spa, with a decent sized indoor pool, large enough to stretch out and exercise tired limbs. The steam and dry rooms were also very welcome. Other services are on offer, but we were happy to use those just described. The boot room is on the bottom floor, accessed via the lift and a very short flight of stairs. Each room is allocated a locker, electronically secured, and then a electronically secured door outside to the steps and onwards. The boot room was in very good repair, and was certainly on a par to other boot rooms in our experiences. As we have our own boot heaters, I can’t comment on the serviceability of the room’s boot heaters (external to the lockers). We were on a half-board option. Breakfast was on from 07:30. You won’t get in early as the doors to the huge dining room are secured to 07:30 on the dot. Breakfast was superb. Lots of cereals, in fact lots of everything to set us up for the day. Dinner was on from 1900, which suited us to be there early as we tended to be early risers. The set menu was four course following a salad buffet, with a main meat, fish and vegetarian option on offer, selected during breakfast to ease evening service. We were very pleased with every course we took, I really would describe it as fine dining. Finally the staff. From arrival to departure, we found the staff to be superb. Reception staff were professional and friendly, and of course are critical in setting the tone as first impressions really do count. Bar staff were aways friendly and engaging, while the dining room was well staffed and seemed to run efficiently (the main man really was in charge and kept the team on their toes running the show). And our room was always clean and refreshed when we returned from a long day out. If you have read this far, well done! I know it’s a long review, but we loved our stay here and really wanted to do this hotel justice.

What a find! Unsure whether our attempt to ski after a seven year gap would be successful, we wanted a nice hotel to spend time in if needed and we made full use of the facilities offered during our two week stay. The food was excellent – from the extensive breakfast buffet (you could also order a freshly cooked omelette if you wanted one), to the outstanding 5/6 course evening meal. The chef was very creative and blended together food groups that shouldn’t work but did. Banana and curry soup? Surely not – but it was delicious! After eight nights of being spoiled, we just wanted something simple and requested a Spaghetti Bolognese and this was supplied without a problem, leaving our palate ready for the delicious blueberry cheesecake that followed. Compliments to the chef and all the friendly, efficient staff in the restaurant who made our stay a special one. If you needed an afternoon snack, nibbles and cake were available in the lounge and cheerful table service for drinks was never far away. On sunny afternoons, a drink on the terrace was always a nice way to end the skiing day and drink prices were reasonable too. We made full use of the roman-style spa area which had a pool, Jacuzzi and relaxation areas. The saunas, steam room and ice room were a nice addition, though my British modesty struggled a little with the no clothes rule! The Tyrolean style hotel is in a central position, close to the lifts. All the staff are lovely and the attention to detail was much appreciated – bathrobes, slippers, heated boot warmers and so much more. I highly recommend this hotel for a visit to St Anton. Warning- this ski resort is not suitable for beginners or the faint hearted.

Good Points: Terrific central location Friendly and welcoming staff, including enthusiastic young waiters Comfortable and spacious bedroom - one of the best Cosy bar Elegant and spacious public areas Good breakfast - fresh juices, good selection of hot & cold Excellent wine list Good ski room Not so Good: No freshly cooked eggs at breakfast Far too much veal on dinner menu, very few other meats Vegetables at dinner all pureed - like baby food. More freshly cooked veg please! Vegetarian menu choices poor Desserts all were mixed dollops of sweet things - very lazy Salad bar lacks variety Food overall not as good as comparable hotels in St Anton & elsewhere ps. Maitre d' avoided our table, didn't speak to us once

Totally disagree with one of your other reviewers . We had a wonderful week . The room was fine , cleaned daily . The food was superb . The staff were friendly and welcoming . The bar was fun , lively as a bar should be . Plenty of quieter sitting areas available for residents too Would definitely recommend and return , as do many families many times . I suggest the chap who disliked the hotel should have chosen somewhere less traditional .

Hotel Poste is very tired, the rooms are dated especially the bathrooms which have very poor water pressure; nothing worse than a bad shower experience. The bar is dingy and unwelcoming - it feels like a drop in centre for locals, mainly men who sit in the corner getting increasingly drunk; starting at girls… not a great atmosphere The breakfast buffet is actually very good but the half board dinner was absolutely disgusting - raw fish/ grey meat/ over fried / limp salad …. they allocate 20 euros a head for half board dinner which explains a lot …. The restaurant manager is a pompous and arrogant old man who struts around like he owns the place holding court at the bar when ever he gets the chance At night the hotel is very noisy - every night until 3am… The hotel manager was very helpful when we requested to check out after just 2 nights and kindly refunded 2 nights dinner charges.

The hotel is located in a perfect position, near 3 of the 4 cable cars, at the beginning of the pedestrian zone. So you can forget about your car during all your stay! It also can be easily reached by train, and the station is close to the hotel. Behind the hotel there is also a nice garden with kids area and a little walk. Rooms are cozy, large and clean. Food is great: much better of any expectation from a 4star hotel, considering all my previous experiences (I had to congratulate with the chef!). Nice and large relax zone (swimming pool, sauna, steam bath, whirlpool). The staff is very kind, everybody english speaking: the will make you feel home!
