From the moment we arrived (and were offered a welcome drink) to when we checked out (and were each given a jar of homemade jam), everything was perfect.

Every meal was fantastic (with a good choice of locally produced products) and served with pride and efficiency. There were a good choice of wines at reasonable prices.

All our rooms were huge with (unusually) more than enough storage / drying space for our ski equipment.

The boot / equipment room was very secure with individual locked and heated lockers.

Fantastic location 100m from the Giggijochbahn lift, very near some of the best and liveliest bars in town and 50m from the ski-bus stop.

Will return for our third time in 2021.

Together with my family and friends we have spent our ski holiday in this hotel. The hotel is located at the main street of Sölden, and is surrounded by après-ski bars, shops, ... When you book a room at the streetside, you might experience noise from traffic or nightlife. However, I wasn't bothered too much by this; noises from outside are isolated pretty well.
We were welcomed cordially and checking-in went smoothly. The garage is in the basement of the hotel. When driving eg. a SUV with a skibox, you better check whether you can use the car elevator to get to the lowest parking spaces.
Our room was a standard room, and probably the smallest of all on the floor. It was clean and had all comfort needed. Beds are very comfortable. There is a TV and mini-bar in the room. Furthermore there is a nice bathroom, toilet and plenty of storage. The hotel has a nice swimming pool and wellness area, fitness, massage, kidscorner, ... The skilockers are just outside in a separate building.
The restaurant is very nice; breakfast buffet offers a large variety and also dinner is superb. The kitchen is really excellent. Staff is most friendly and helpful. Our special thanks to Vanessza and Maia who were our waiters.
All taken together, we enjoyed our stay in Liebe Sonne and we can definately recommend. If we ever return to Sölden, i am sure we will consider to book Liebe Sonne again.

Classical and Not very stylish but quite pleasant hotel. Breakfast is absolutely fabulous and more what you would usually find in good 5 star hotels. Daily dinner is also of excellent quality. Nice spa but quality of massages is really not good. Great location just next to ski lift. Don’t get a room towards the front/main street as there is a very noisy night club just across the street. Rooms are clean and functional, not luxurious but very comfortable

My wife and I just spent one week ski holiday in the Hotel Liebe Sonne in March 2023.
Positive points:
Generally speaking this hotel is according to what we expected (we already experienced quite similar hotels in Tyrol).
Our room was big as well as the bath room.
Food at diner was generally good and dishes well presented. Breakfast was awesome with a lot of choices.
Special thanks to Janos in the dining room for utmost service and courtesy extended to us.
Also special thanks to Peter in the Finish sauna…👏 as he had dispensed special treatment with essential oils 2x times per day.

Negative points:
Very negative one…our room (214 juniorsuite "Nederkogl") was facing the main road with direct noise impact from Après-ski lounges. The one called Fire and Ice was open till 03:00am..!! After the first short night (only 3 hours sleep) we mentioned the reception that we have been disturbed by the noise since our habit is to leave the windows slightly open. The receptionist answered with a touch of ironies that we should close the window and if not enough they can provide us with ear plug…I did not ask whether ear plugs were included in the 340.- euro/night room package…! anyway she said there was no possibilities to change room on the quiet side since the house was fully booked. Then ok we accepted it (apparently no choice) and we spent the following nights with windows closed and even the veranda sliding room closed. However some nights we wake up after 3AM to open the windows in oder to avoid sufficing...
We had the chance to talk at the bar with some very regular customers who said that they faced such situation on their first stay and been moved mountain side. They also mentioned that the front desk should not allocate rooms facing street to customers spending that much nights as we did (7 nights). For that price customers deserve quiet and relax nights.

Another bad point was the non respect of silence and tranquility by some group of males in the sauna area. Some of them have been using cell phones and talking loud and some others jumping into the jacuzzi. They were also using the sauna area as a meeting room to share their ski experience of the day.

Overall saying I would recommend this hotel but make sure about room allocation at the time of booking.

Talk about a fantastic early season Austria trip, only made better by the 5 star staff here. Mia at the bar served our fun group drinks all weekend, was great. Front desk staff was super warm and kind. Will be coming back soon.

Far beyond my expectation, but a little pricy (well, is a 4 star hotel). Also, they have their restaurant with a great kitchen chef and adjacent crew. The food exceeded my expectation, very well prepared and the presentation extremely elaborated.
I guess I'll be back for an other summer vacation.

On the 20th of February I arrived in Sölden for my annual ski vacation. I had booked a room in Villa Anna, the dependency of Hotel Liebe Sonne, with half board.
Unfortunately I did not book a room in the hotel itself. The rooms in Villa Anna are oldfashioned, out of date but clean.
Our meals and drinks were served in the hotel.
The hotel provides an excellent and very friendly service. Staff is very helpfull and is always there to help or advice, with a smile.
Every moring a breakfast buffet provided for the needs and taste of all. Even with bubbles on Sunday.
Every evening a five course meal was served in the main restaurant.
The hotel has also a nice swimming pool and a sauna for the hours you do not spend on the ski slopes.
A real 4 star hotel where I would like to go back.

only 1 night in this hotel but I can't find too much extraordinary things to highlight here why it's only neutral/average for my understanding:

Positive:
- excellent Sauna and outside Jacuzzi, a small pool
- very good meals (4 courses) incl. in half-board rates
- central location (close to party places)

neutral:
- rooms are local standard in size (=spacious!) with balcony, bathroom with shower and tub and separate toilet. Last time renovated maybe early 2000,
- furniture pretty much worn
- empty mini-bar but 1 free bottle of water
- breakfast ok (warm)

Negative:
- lobby which includes a bar is smoking room, smokers smoke cigars in the area what you can't avoid as a guest. Smoker room should be in extra room with closed doors!! 2009 Austria will get a non-smoker protection law but no big changes expected like in Germany :-(
- my room smelled like smoke
- hard beds (nothing like "Marriott")
- hard to control temerature in room esp. at night (too hot)
- high pricelevel (bottle of wine 35 EUR),
- if you ask to deduct half-board they offer 10 EUR/Person cheaper which is absurd compared to the prices they charge for non-resident guests (breakfast is 5 EUR cheaper)

Also be informed that the hotel belongs to one of the 3 families in Sölden which have 95% of the market incl. the party-cafes, apres-ski hütten and ski-lifts. Due to the heavly promoted Russian invasion prices fly high and there is no real competition...

Main reason to come to Sölden is to go skiing and party - for that reason you can also go to a smaller Pension with limited services but pay on 25 EUR/Person instead of 120 EUR... (if available??)

They rate themselve as a "4*-Hotel" but I had problems to recognize any kind of 4* Services. Maybe it's because of the "professional complaint management" they suppose to have (survey to be filled before check-out)??

The standard double room is very basic, feels like it is in need of renovation/modernization. It is ok in terms of space, room for wardrobe, has a separate restroom and bathroom which is good, a small terrace, comfy bed and TV with plenty of channels. But as said, it is simply not cozy enough or modern.

Food as in more or less all Austrian hotels looks better then it tastes. So too much effort on the serving vs. the taste of the food, but on a scale from 1 to 10 I would give it 6.

Location is the best part of the hotel as it is 50m from the main gondola, and the hotel has a good ski depot, and you can arrange ski courses and buy ski passes via the reception.

The SPA area is solid. Has a decent size pool with very warm water which is a huge plus since in other hotels the water is too cold to enter. It also has a sauna for people who do not want to be naked which is nice. Then separately there is a SPA area where naked is mandatory with Jacuzzi, 2 different saunas, steam bath etc.

Staff is another weak point, especially at the reception where they do not even try to be friendly or not to mention give you a smile god forbid. So like they ask in the CV for the people to be stone cold, not a good feeling and not something we have experienced in the other Austrian hotels.

Wi-fi is very poor, so poor connection and speed all over the hotel....cannot believe this since it is very expensive hotel.

Overall a ok stay but would probably try a different hotel next time in Soelden.

What a find! We arrived around 4pm without having booked. Even though it was end of season, it was busy but they had a few room available. Parked in their underground car park and checked in.
Our room was on the 3rd floor at the back. It was spacious, a really comfy bed, big bathroom with separate shower double basins under floor heating etc, and a balcony looking over the rooftops and down the valley.
The room had the best in room television system I have come across. All the UK channels BBC1, 2, ITV C4 & C5 as well as countless other international channels and movies (some chargeable) plus live links to web cams on the ski stations and internet access.
So, the room passed muster! Now it gets better. The wellness suite on the top floors had a lovely enclosed swimming pool, sauna, steam-room and a Jacuzzi.
Downstairs, the bar was well laid out and as usual, attitudes were brilliant. We decided on the demi-pension rate and wow, good decision. The food was excellent. Five course dinner, part served, part buffet (brilliant). Breakfasts were full buffet, but everything was available and fabulous.
I could not fault this hotel and I imagine that in the winter season it would be even better. I would not hesitate to go again.
