Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have just returned home from a great week away. I chose this villa because there were only 5 apartments, so small and personal. It turned out to be a great choice. Our apartment was number 5, which was on two levels. Lots of space, spotlessly clean and well maintained. The pool and garden are lovely, well kept and secluded. The tortoises the family have rescued live in their own area of the garden and are quite comical to watch. The family were very welcoming and did everything they could to make your stay enjoyable. I even had scrambled egg for breakfast which was very nice. I'd certainly recommend here for anyone wanting a peaceful location, close to the harbour and local facilities. Excellent holiday

We had two wonderful weeks in Villa Velike Stine in July! The hotel is located close enough to go on foot out in Medulin in the evening (holds for small kids or elderly people) and far enough to avoid the noise from the restaurants and the bars in the evening. We booked the big apartment, which allowed plenty of space for our two kids and the grandma who spent the vacation with us. As the hotel has a few rooms, it allows a lot of privacy when sitting in the pool or garden, which might be preferred from the busy, huge hotels nearby. Igor and his parents are very warm people and loving towards kids. The hotel offers parking within its premises, but if the car is too big, you can park easily on the street right after the hotel. Medulin has lots of nice restaurants, swimming possibilities, ice cream cafes and bars and is an uncomplicated summer destination. Definitely recommended!

Igor welcomed us warmly and quickly showed us the fenced parking area inside his property. The charge of 8€ per day he did not told us. I found it on the information sheet inside the room. Safe space outside is little for parking (parking damages, etc). The room was clean and well equipped (hairdryer, shower cream, AC, ...) Unfortunately the blanket was very thin and only one for two persons. The garden is well maintained. The pool is clean and refreshing and the wooden sunbeds are very comfortable. We did not order a meal at night because we heard about unusual prices and allready planned to eat in the city. The only things i can complain about is the parking tax of 8€ and the not existing price list for the selfservice drinks

We stayed here for 7 nights in June. We had such a special break because of this idyllic accommodation. Because of the small size of this villa compared to hotels it felt very personal and secluded. Most of the time we had the pool ourselves and could just chill out with drinks provided by our fabulous host Igor. Igor was amazing, like having your own personal chef and butler! He was extremely attentive and a fanulous chef. We never intended to eat at the villa most nights but it was so good that we couldn't resist! We tried many things that we had not had before and it made our trip extra special. The food was amazing and certainly not expensive for what you experienced. Yes we could maybe have eaten cheaper every night in town but certainly not to the same standard with such a personal feel to it. The only thing that was tricky for us was the location as it is on top of a long hill and one of us is disabled, but we got around this issue fine and certainly would say it is worth it for the peaceful secluded location that it is. We definitely recommend here and cannot wait to return as soon as possible. Thank you to Igor and his whole family for making us feel so welcome and looked after. We will be back!

We stayed for one week in this hotel in August. The room was big, enough for 4 people. We have to point out a very nice garden and nice pool (perfect for kids to play). The room was average, a bit worn out. The only negativ thing was the cleaning (once we even asked to change the bed cloth of one kid and it was not done). The stuff we experienced as very friendly. We never ate at the hotel due to negative reviews.

We are a professional Irish couple who had an awful experience when stayed in August 2014. We asked Igor and the woman for clean towels and sheets which had not been provided by our fourth night and for more breakfast. We were refused and the older male owner threatened and intimidated us. It was very frightening and we had to leave as we were fearful for our safety. In the ten years we have travelled as a couple, we have never had any experience that resembled this and have never had to leave a warning to other tourists.

Response from VillaVelikeStine, Owner at Villa Velike Stine
Responded 21 Aug 2014
Dear Guest, Thank you for your review and for choosing our accomodation for your holidays. We are disapointed to hear that you didnt like our accomodation. Unfortunatly you was complaining on everithing from the begining of your stay ( room, staff, breakfast, service ). We coudnt let you continue insulting our staff and caling them names because of the other guest who wanted to rest quietly by the pool. At the end you didnt paid your drinks, and youd didnt want to pay the bill because we dont have the same exchange rate for euro like your local bank. We are realy sorry but we have some standard of service ( category A 3 stars ) and is difficult to us to provide the service of 5 star hotels. It is our main priority to provide a pleasurable and relaxing stay to all our valuable guests and that's why we are very disappointed to hear about your situation. At Villa Velike Stine, we take responsibility and safety of our guests very seriously and you can rest assured that every precaution has been taken to ensure that the same situation doesnt happen again. We wish you all the best and hope you'll give us a second chance to serve you in the future! Kind Regards, The Villa Velike Stine Management

Some people dont understand the quality of food in Villa Velike Stine because they eat junk food in private life, and is not nice to write lies about one of the best restaurants in the region. My profesion is to travel and review places like this one, and I can tell you that this is one of the best restaurants and accomodations in Istria. The prices in restourant are higher comparing others in the city but people who know something about food will undestand why. Comparing with other places in europe very cheap and the incomparibly quality. You have to try it and see the service in other places and then you can see the difference. Personalised cooking and very friendly staff. I will recomend thes place to everibody who like a exceent service and quaity food.
