It was a wonderful vacation! Location: Lopud is a beautiful island. No roads, no cars and no pollution are the perfect match for the best holiday atmosphere! The island is not that large in extension so it's perfect even for hikes and outdoor sports and activities. Beach: the hotel beach it's very organized. The staff is friendly and nice. They provided us with everything we needed. Food: there are plenty of option in Lopud island but even more inside the hotel. We personally liked eating in the Dalmar restaurant during dinner and at the beach restaurant during lunches. Room: the room was very nice and well furnished. The bed was comfy and soft. I usually never find nice mattresses during my trip but this was honestly high quality. Overall it was a wonderful experience. Some friend of mine told me to visit it and I'm glad i actually did. Will definitely come back to Lafodia!

Lopud is the best island: no cars, only golf buggies where needed, lovely little town with an interesting park. The walks above the hotel are sooo beautiful. You can walk along the top ridge looking down both sides! The room was nice. Reception staff were not that helpful. No atmosphere inside because there was no bar and only very uncomfortable seating arrangements. The beach was nice but staff were very unhelpful and even rude. The spa area was very neglected with outdoor hot tubs empty and the indoor one not hot enough and jets not working. The table tennis table was squeezed into a totally unsuitable place where balls would end up on the roof below. We had booked half board. Breakfast was average but the view was making up for it. Dinner was well below par, always the same. On day three in the upstairs restaurant we both opted for the same vegetable terrine as starter. It was an innocent enough dish but must have been sitting around too long because we both came down with violent sickness and diarrhoea (and we know it was the culprit because its contents came back). Other customers who had the same starter suffered the same fate. When we spoke to reception about it we were told that it was a virus going round the island, definitely nothing to do with their restaurant food. This was repeated by everyone, even the manager himself who showed no sympathy let alone remorse. Their attitude suggested to me that this was a regular occurrence. We were so disappointed with this hotel when it promised so much! Bad management!

The Island is lovely, very scenic and relaxing. The hotel dominates the island and done like the back of a ship. The transfer over was smooth and we were met at the jetty by one of the hotel staff, who took the cases up to reception and then to the rooms. The junior suite on the seventh floor at the back is overlooked by the spa area, so no privacy when using the hot tub or sun beds, as you get people walking pass you to the spa. We couldn't use the hot tub due to the cover not being heavy enough to put on in windy conditions and it was really windy one afternoon that the cover which we had put on, ended up at the spa, so the water was full of bugs and debris. Room service was hit and miss with each team doing their own thing. Twice our room was missed, so had to phone down to reception to let them know. On one occasion they did come back to do it, but didn't leave toilet rolls, so had to phone to ask if they could bring some up. Sheets on the bed don't fit and had holes in them, even when changed at the end of the week, the new ones also had holes in. We either didn't have hand towels or had too many, bath towels were rough. Breakfast had a good choice, even though the hot items were more tepid and the urn for hot water was either hot or cold. The view outside made up for it. We ate in the restaurant three nights, as it was raining, so it was busy, we couldn't fault the food or service. The water however was extortionate at nine euros a bottle. Thomin ( I know I've spelt it wrong) was great, as he was in the restaurant and at breakfast. He is a great asset to the hotel. We didn't use the spa, until the last day to freshen up before leaving, which was a waste of time as the showers weren't warm, one had a broken door and it is not big enough to cope with a lot of people in high season. A four star hotel shouldn't rely on their guest to inform them of the things that go wrong. Rooms should be checked for items not working. Sheets, towels, bathrobes, should be checked by housekeeping for wear and tear and replaced, whether you are at the beginning of the season or at the end of the season. This hotel could be a good four star hotel, if attention to the minor things are corrected.

Firstly the island is beautiful the water crystal clear if not a little cold. The private transfer to this hotel was so worth it arriving by boat to an amazing looking hotel really started our holiday off in great style. This is the first time ever arriving just after 12 noon we could not get into our room. We had to wait till just after 3pm. The staff overall were really friendly and helpful especially Tohamir (think that’s how you spell it) and Ivan the boat skipper both of these went over and above to make our stay great. The rooms were clean albeit the shower needs some love and care as the seals kept coming off. The food in the restaurants was ok and the prices same as those charged in every restaurant on the island. The bar situation was interesting. This is where some small changes would make this place amazing. The young man who looks after the beach is rude and unhelpful. The beach closes at 6pm however on the Saturday he came at 4pm and told us it was closing and he needed the sun bed lounger cushions back. When challenged no explanation just it was closed!! When you did need him he was either not available or could not help! The spa well what a real disgrace. The outdoor whirlpools not working, the indoor pool jets not working trying to get a treatment was impossible. The outdoor gym not fully operational so a real disappointment. This was one of the reasons we chose this hotel so we’re really gutted to find such lack of upkeep which is NOT explained anywhere. The bars what can I say. We sadly had a lot of bad weather which resulted in the beach bar closing understandable however no other bar in the hotel was open!!!!! Excursions look great but only happen once a week not explained when we checked in so we missed them. We did treat ourselves to hiring Peter Pan boat and skipper for 4 hours. That was well worth the price. Ivan was amazing and he took us to some great spots and we found an amazing restaurant for lunch on Šipan. So 4 stars for location, cleanliness and most staff. Just a few things would make it a 5

From the minute we arrived the attention of the staff at the hotel was perfect. Special praise goes to Tihomir who was a joy to meet and who even tought us some Croatian phrases. The hotel facilities are great. The beach area was our favourite and lunch and dinner at La Baja were also a highlight for us. The breakfast offering was of really good quality and served in a great setting. Again, the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Overall, this hotel provided the perfect for a great stay on the lovely island of Lopud.

Nice hotel, very clean and lovely staff. However the spa was very disappointing, the outdoor jacuzzis were both broken. The steam room out of order, the foot spa and some showers again out of order. Only one jet working in the indoor whirlpool. This hotel is advertised as a spa and has great potential. Never advised of these issues before or during our stay, we had to find out ourselves. The surrounding are beautiful. I complained to the spa and hotel receptions but didn’t seem too bothered but happy.

Ok let’s start with the positives. Lopud is a lovely location, the water is crystal clear and amazing for a swim anytime of day. The short walk into the small town is great and there’s enough decent restaurants to dine at a different one every day for a week. Now to the hotel….. The hotel in general is ragged around the edges with little upkeep. Cleaners walk in even if there’s a do not disturb at 8.45am every morning. Literally every day even after we told them not to. Spa jacuzzis out of action full of leaves. “Gym” area is awful, multi-function equipment broken with limited equipment. Boat trips drop big groups straight onto the “idyllic beach” twice per day. Seal on the shower broken leaking water into the room. Bars and restaurants listed on the hotel weren’t open. The in room safe didn’t work. Breakfast was below average, broken coffee machines, limited choice no options for omelettes etc. Beach towels are not replaced even if you ask - beach staff say it’s housekeeping, housekeeping do nothing with it apart from the very last day when we returned from the beach to fresh towels we will never use! Lights in the room kept failing - the key slot to get power didn’t seem to work properly maintenance came and didn’t really sort anything. The staff are courteous and helpful but there’s obviously been little investment in the facilities. If you come expecting luxury please don’t be fooled. If it’s an “ok” mid to low end hotel in a lovely resort then this is right. The marketing is one of a high end hotel selling a “luxury” experience. It definitely doesn’t deliver. I will return to lopud as the resort is idyllic but will rent an appt and know what I’m getting. Don’t be fooled into paying over the odds for a below average hotel.

Location perfect. The island of Lopud has a variety of restaurants, small supermarkets, beautiful beaches, clear sea, walks and links to other islands and mainland Croatia. We arrived at 12:00 and managed to get into our room at 16:30. Initially, we were disappointed with the time we had to wait but mainly because we were tired and many people appeared to be checked in much sooner. However, this was soon forgotten. The staff at the hotel were apologetic and when we got to our room we were not disappointed. The room had ample space and storage. The air con kept the room cool and wasn’t too noisy. The large bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a good standard, in terms of decor, fixtures and toiletries. The towels and bathrobes were large and soft. The housekeeping staff kept the room clean and well stocked. If something was missing they quickly resolved this. These staff are an asset to the hotel. The breakfast was phenomenal. Very little cross-contamination of the varied food, that was fresh and tasty. The pancake machine are popular, so a queue does form but you can easily work around this. I particularly liked the dispensers for the sauces. The staff in the room were attentive and quickly cleared tables. They worked tirelessly to keep it tidy and replenishing the food items. Very impressive. The beach by the hotel always had loungers free. The water was perfect for swimming and snorkelling. We hired a kayak and enjoyed rowing around the island. It was notably busier when the small island cruise boats arrived but the hotel staff ensured that the non-residents were politely asked to go elsewhere. The restaurants on the island varied in price and quality. However, there was ample choice. We particularly liked restaurant Obala (great service and worth the little extra cost). For a slightly cheaper option was Elaphis. The palma icecream shop had a fab selection of flavours and became our regular place for a dessert. Generally the food in the restaurants and supermarket appeared dearer than than the other islands but it was worth it. I dropped the hotel a star because it didn’t have a lounge bar that was open and a significant number of facilities were not working in the spa. Overall, highly recommended, especially bed and breakfast option.

Well established spa hotel in best location and facilities in Lopud island. Hotel beach and services are convenient and good. Only remark, the check-out time 10.00 is bit early, but manageable. Also suggest hotel organized transfer car+boat.

Lafodia is a well placed hotel on a beautiful island. The hotel has a great and beautiful private beach with clear sea right in front of it which is great if travelling with kids so you can go to you room in any moment. The room was great, spacious and clean. The staff, especially the supporting staff is very polite. Breakfast is good. Downsides: There is basically no WiFi internet in the rooms. Outside gym needs a renewal, the phone in the room does not work in regards to room service. Prices of beverages is to high, ice cream is ridiculously expensive. Food is also expensive which would not be a problem if it tasted above average, which unfortunate is not the case.
