Hotel staff and spa lovely , food not brilliant . But we have marching elephants in the room above us so every time we want a rest ie before dinner or bed time and early morning it is driving us mad !! We have called revisiting 4 times and at the beginning of our holiday and asked to Move rooms if it couldn’t be resolved but have had no feed back or communication from manager or staff . What a shame as it is a beautiful setting . But I will not be going home rested
Exceptional hotel on a little island! Want to come relax? Does an island without cars (not counting golfcarts) appeals to you? Then come here. Great hotel, top facilities, amazing service, million-dollar view. All in a relaxed atmosphere and will make you sad to leave! Try it, you'd like it!
My family and I arrived at this hotel less than 24 hours ago - beautifully situated in an idyllic location. We were disappointed to find that only two restaurants were open. We ordered a drink at the beach bar and, after waiting half an hour, went to check where it was. They had totally forgotten it - not a great start, and an omen of what was to come. Dinner was booked at 7.30 at La Baja. We had a great table by the sea. The team were slow to take our order and after an hour, we asked to be served some bread (as nothing had arrived). Our party of six were then given a basket with four pieces of bread! We ordered wine which did not arrive. We then reminded a second waiter that we had ordered wine, and it still did not come. Eventually, unable to get any waiter to come over, I went to the bar and reminded them for a third time that it had not come. Starters eventually came, and were mediocre at best, with some components missing. We finished starters and sat for 20 minutes with empty plates in front of us. Then the main courses arrived and had to be taken back to the kitchen whilst they quickly removed our starter plates. Three of us had Chateaubriand - a delicate cut of tender beef. Ours looked like overcooked stewing steak, and was luke warm - presumably left to sit for a while before the waiters delivered it. Worst of all, my daughter ordered a vegetarian dish - ravioli with spinach and ricotta. What she got was one single piece of pasta stuffed with scallops and prawn! Thank goodness she wasn’t allergic to shellfish as this could have become a medical emergency. For the first time in my life, after 2 and a half hours of sitting there, we walked out and went elsewhere for a late dinner. Food was awful, and service was totally incompetent. …
We are staying here now (on the 6th of 7 floors) and whilst it is a lovely place, great SPA with staff always friendly & happy to help, we are disappointed to say that despite 3 calls to report what can only be described as a 'herd of elephants marching above us' nothing has been done or offered. Each day we've returned to our room to relax and ready ourselves for the evening, we have had to try and phase out the sound of continual bang bang sound of someone walking on their bear foot heels and moving furniture. One expects some neighbourly disturbance but this time it has been intolerable and spoilt our stay.
We stayed at Lafodia Resort for a week in June and had a wonderful time. It was quite early in their season so the hotel was quiet - which was perfect for us! - but towards the end of the week you could see more guests were starting to arrive. All of staff were extremely friendly and helpful, our room was great with a view looking towards Lopud harbour, and the hotel itself is lovely - particularly the pool area and the private beach, which was a huge plus to have so close! We arranged an excursion to Dubrovnik via the hotel, taking a speedboat over to the mainland where a car was waiting to take us to Dubrovnik; it conveniently dropped us off right outside the city walls and the return back to the hotel was smooth and on time too. Definitely worth a visit! We booked Bed & Breakfast - the breakfast offering was great, lots to choose from including some delicious pastries! - and at lunch times ate at the beach bar or grabbed a sandwich from the hotel-owned bakery just down the road. We ate at some lovely restaurants along the front in the evening - namely La Villa, Mandrac and The Dubrovnik - and there were more options closer to the harbour. The only thing we felt the hotel (and island) could benefit from having is a more informal food option for evenings - for instance, the beach bar at the hotel served lighter meals like burgers, sandwiches and salads in the daytime but switched to a dinner menu at night, and a couple of evening we wished the lunch time menu was still available! All in all we had a fab holiday and loved the hotel and island - with it's clear, turquoise waters, gorgeous sunsets and palm trees it really felt like paradise. We'll be back!…
We made a surprise stop over in Lopud which we know very well but always left to head back to Sipan at the end of the day. We booked the RMH Lafodia and turned up early to be met by a wonderful girl called Elma who made us feel instantly welcome and looked after. She told us our room was unexpectedly not available but before we could open our mouths had upgraded us to a beautiful suite :-) My wife mentioned to her that we’d been trying to get a booking for a particular Resturant in Dubrovnik but with no luck, within an hour she’d secured us a reservation!! The room was gorgeous and the beach lovely but it was the service that made the trip. We’d definitely stay again and hope that Elma will be there to look after us!!!
We have loved every minute of our stay at Lafodia. Everything was beautiful and clean. The staff were all friendly and helped any way they could. An extra special mention is Elma - our stay would not have been the same without her, from greeting us off the boat to the moment we left. Elma is an absolute credit to the hotel and from everyone staying at this stunning hotel we’d like to wish her the best of luck in her journey and a huge thank you to each and every one of the staff members.
Am currently here on holiday. It is Beautiful but spoilt by the incessant club music all day on the beach and poolside. It makes it incredibly difficult to relax having this loud high beat music inflicted upon us all day. Such a shame as it is an idyllic place with great staff care.
We visited Lafodia for 2 nights and wished we could have stayed much much longer! From the moment we arrived we felt like we were in paradise: attentive friendly helpful staff, beautiful beach, lovely modern rooms and the views are out of this world. Free access to the spa was a very welcome bonus. We will be back as soon as we can, thank you hotel lafodia!
Fabulous stay to relax for a a few days. Restaurants beautiful along the sea. Hotel is spotless and staff are extremely friendly. Thank you for looking after us. A little piece of paradise Looking forward to returning. Book it you wont be disappointed ❤
