Our room wasn't ready, and although they offered us another, we opted to wait. (We liked the room and would be staying for 5 nights.) They said that they would inform us when the room was ready -- they never did! Bad on them! Finally,...More

A lovely place to stay on The Big Island, walkable into Kona town. It's very peaceful, the staff are attentive and helpful. Unit decor is dull, but that's just my opinion and didn't detract from an enjoyable stay

I have played several courses. Mauna Loa Golf Club was a good track. Makani Golf Club - formerly Big Island Country Club was a fun course with an island green that with the prevailing wind can be hard. Waikoloa Village Golf Club is a fair course that fits most players game. You can rent clubs at all of these courses along with balls and tees. Not sure about shoes. I play in sandals all the time and they pack easy. The ocean courses are a little windy which makes play a little harder.
