Hotel Olympia Sky receives mixed feedback, with some guests lauding the hotel's cleanliness, including immaculate rooms and commendable housekeeping, while others have encountered minor issues. The service quality appears to be inconsistent, with experiences ranging from unapproachable staff to friendly and efficient interactions. Travelers extol the hotel's amenities, such as striking sea views, multiple pools, and spa facilities, though there's room for improvement. The rooms are frequently commended for their comfort and views, particularly on higher floors. Despite some calling out high costs for drinks and beach services, the hotel's luxurious atmosphere and local pricing are generally appreciated.

Stayed during the summer with my wife and 5 year old daughter for 5 nights and while it was a great stay there are a few improvements that I think would have made the hotel perfect. Im planning to return next year and with a few tweaks could make ours tay perfect!!

I'll start with the pros first

The superior rooms - Large balcony and view (Amazing) + Coffee Machine in the rooms

Kids Mini Disco - with amazing animation team Christian and Tea! They were great and my daughter looked forward to dancing with them every evening.

Location - Perfect spot by the beach and Vodice fantastic in general

Friendly reception staff

Now for the parts that could improve

Food
We took the half Board option and both buffet breakfast and dinner were not up to standard. We stayed in another 4 star hotel (Amarin in Rovinj) the year before and the food was amazing but this was not up to the same quality or what i would expect for a 4 star hotel in comparison. If i return i will opt for bed and breakfast only, I also did not try the sky restaurant though so i can not comment on that...

There was also no tap water served at dinner time (only breakfast) i even got told off when i brought my own bottled water in as they appear to be forcing you to buy bottled water from the hotel (over £3) which i did not like out of principal and this leaves a bad impression.

Pool Area
Baby pool should be covered from the sun with some sort of shade at least over it.
They need to put spikes (pest control) on the roof of the large entrance above kids pool with the slide as pigeon droppings from the roof can be seen in and around the pool, we actually had to move pools.

Would like to see more hotel security watching the pool area, as we often found non hotel guest mostly teens coming from the beach using the pool as a playground diving in and often splashing people while relaxing. Only once in the 5 days did i see a security staff move them away. Without this there is nothing to stop random people just walking in and grabbing a sun lounger and this doesn't seem very safe to me...

I would also like to have seen a bit more atmosphere during the day by the pool, not sure if the pool bar was shut because of covid 19 but would have been good to have a pool side bar to serve snacks and drinks by the pool with a bit of music at least.

Location: One of the best possible locations, a minute from the beach.
Hotel and rooms: Interior of hotel is beutiful, modern and appropriate for a 4* hotel. Rooms looking at the sea are great, but should be renovated, lights near the bed were broken and stiched together with a tape, there was also a crack on the wall.
Restaurants and hotel bars: The main hotel restaurant needs to be guided from better chef of waiters - at dinner time, we haven't been asked for drinks 4 out 7 nights! Terrible service. Other hotel bars were great.
Beach: Very crowded, they don't let you have small beach tents for children, which is for my opinion unbearable. There is also sign for no food or drink of your own. They should ask yourself if this is okay, because it is not.
Parking: For around 2000€ for a week they extra charge you parking, i mean what?!
Other: Everyone from the street can go in the elevator and have access to hotel rooms and infinity pool in the 9th floor. For such "high" level and price the hotel should be more closed for hotel guests only, no privacy.
Outdoor pool: Nice, great for families with small kids. They give free towels for hotel guests, but when you want to take them, they don't have it anymore because the service is incommon with the Olympia hotel which is not the same as Olympia Sky. Service should be seperated for each hotel, otherwise why should we pay more?

This hotel is really beautiful. Rooms are excellent, bathrooms in the room perfect, sea view really nice, rooftop restoran perfect, location perfect. But, There it all ends, it is visually really really nice.
First of all, the food in the restaurant is on the level of bad 3* hotel - french fries and fried cheese, NO drinks on the dinner (not even water!!) except paying for it, no yoghurt on the breakfast… really poor, bad quality and dinner especially poor offering, and definitelly not on the level of the room price. Additionally, the restaurant is being shared with the hotel next door that is 3*, so the same food for different price of staying.
Regarding epidemiological measures nobody is taking care of it, almost no guests are wearing mask nor in the hotel nor in the restaurant while taking food. No desinfection on disposal (the one on the restaurant entrance not working) nor anybody warns guests about it. At this moment Croatia still has measures of wearing masks indoor and most of the higher star hotel are really proffesional in that area, but not this one. In the elevators mostly a lot of people without mask, no warnings there.
Staff is mostly kids in young 20, not knowing anything about hotel service, for sure not being on the level of the 4* hotel.
Outdoor pools having slippery floors outside so amost impossible for small kids to walk alone. Also this hotel has a problem with pigeons on the pool area, they are drinking water from the pool and leaving their poop all over the place including water.
Nobody takes care that non-hotel guests are also using pool area.
And, if you plan to go with a child have in mind that there is nothing for kids. Not even a park.
If the hotel staff will read this review, I trully recomend to visit other hotels and learn little about service. The looks of the hotel will not return a guest.

Hotel lovely and clean. However food for breakfast was average. Always Luke warm. Food for evening meal however was poor selection and extremely repetitive over the 2 weeks we recently stayed there. Drink’s expensive . Bottle of water in restaurant almost 5 euros although was free at breakfast.Considering Hotel is supposed to be 4* we asked for maintenance to attend room twice for 2 different issues to which they never attended. Room was not vacuumed 2days on the trot and had to ask for coffee pods when ran out daily. Sun loungers on beach expensive 10 euros + 5 euros for umbrella. Infinity pool on floor 9 was amazing but was disappointed when guests from Olympia were allowed to use this on our 2nd week. No problem with the guests it was the principle that we payed extra to stay in Olympia Sky and then sister hotel were able to access same facilities.

We spent 4 nights in Hotel Olympia Sky. We have double superior room with balcony and sea view. Room was nice and clean and view from balcony is great. Interior of hotel is beautiful and luxury... outside you can find pools. Temperature of water was good for us, not us in hot-tube but before we were in hotels where you can freeze in pool. On 9th floor you can find infinity pool with great view, and photos from that pool are amazing. (that pool had cold water). Hotel is situated near center. In front side of hotel you have beach cross the sidewalk. On the beach you can find fastfood restaurants and bars. For classic restaurants you need to walk for 10-15 minutes. In the evening music on the beach playt to midnight. In hotel room when we have closed balcony door was not problem. Music was not loud. Some people are writing food for brakefast or dinner is not good, but my opinion is we had better and worse meals in hotels where we stayed before. I can rate food 3 star from 5. Maybe what I missed is that you can´t eat you breakfast or dinner out, there is no terrace for that, you eat only inside. I can rate bad only two things. First is that reception ist on first floor and entrance to hotel is on floor Zero. So I don´t know, how is safety of hotel secured, but everybody from street can go with elevator to randome floor in hotel. Second bad thing was that, we came to hotel and after spent there 2 nights we didn´t need to clean room, so in the morning we hang paper to not disturbed. Afternoon wen we came back from beach we pull this paper down from the door. And then happend that, on 6 p.m. cleaning lady opened door with her entry card. So we were suprised that she opened door. (we didn´t hear she knocking). That was litlle bit strange, because they clean rooms in the morning not in the evening, so we don´t know why she opened door and what she wanted. When I complained in reception they told us to hang paper not to distubed. Maybe that was our fault but that never happened in hotels where we stayed before.

If you are visiting Vodice, Croatia, then this is the hotel you NEED to choose.

The hotel isn’t all inclusive but the breakfast is very good with many of things to choose from. Fresh juices to coffees, it caters it all. Breakfast is 7-10:30 which is a good time. We only got bed and breakfast, but there is a half board option for dinner.

We used the local restaurants for food, the breakfast got us through to 5, and then went out for food. I would definitely recommend Restaurant Aria! There is so many places to eat, and desert places like ice cream and waffles. Cash is advised for these as we left tips, and also not many with card machines.

The pools are amazing! There is two children’s pools equipped with a slide, and two adult pools outside. One is quieter for the people wanting to swim, and there is an extra large pool for fun, and foundations included. Would recommend the bigger pool. Sun loungers are free with brollies and had no issue finding one when needed. The drinks prices where very fair, €4 for a 0.5L bottle of local beer, which is very much cheaper than most hotels in the UK. Food is also accessible from the pool with the local Tavern.

The rooms are fantastic. If you get a chance, ask for the room on a higher floor and a sea view. We didn’t choose a sea view room but asked on email before if we could get an upgrade, which they gave!! The views are absolutely incredible. If it’s night time with the lights, full blown sunshine or even a stormy night, it looks fantastic.

If you’re looking at hotels and wondering which to pick, I would advise this one every time. Just walking down the sea front and seeing other hotels, I am so glad I chose this one. When along the beach you can literally see the hotel from miles, and stands out in the sunlight backdrop.

Rooms were very nice, clean, comfortable, and our view was wonderful! Front desk staff very service oriented and always smiling. Room temperature was a little warm and I had no luck adjusting it in the room. Front desk can adjust it electronically, just ask them and they are happy to do it. Housekeeping shows up immediately when you ask for additional items. In fact, I was so impressed with their fast responses that I tipped them generously...even though they tried to refuse the gratuity. We ate breakfast on two mornings and the breakfast offerings were amazing...and endless variety. Our friends enjoyed the rooftop dinner restaurant, but we preferred to visit local restaurants. Nice bar. Cuban cigars available at the lobby bar. Local small shops on the property at the waterfront. You cannot lose site of the hotel because from a distance, it looks like a huge cruise ship from anywhere the venture out! The area appeared safe, and we saw many people strolling the area. There are a couple of abandoned buildings nearby that had been "tagged" by local "artists". Nice grocery/convenience store (Tommy's) two blocks away that had a nice selection of items and very reasonable prices.

Modern hotel, clean and great views of you're high up. Pool area clean and good sunbeds.
Hotel is soulless, it was dead. No evening entertainment, no poolside entertainment, ghost like staff that you had to search for. No pool side drink service. Absolutely no vibe to the place.
Staff were dismissive and unhelpful. We asked for advice about boat trips and were laughed at by two members of reception and told 'we do not have a boat' on trying to explain she walked off! Asked for a drink and a piece of cake one evening and this was met with irritation as we were disturbing his dinner! This hotel is more of a business convention centre, they held several conferences when we stayed, clearly where they make their money and rent out a few rooms on the side for tourists.
We booked BB only which was ok.
Most of the beachside amenities were closed down, sunbeds on their beach were charged at 10euros each and an extra 5euros for a umbrella. The whole promise of a beautiful, vibrant hotel with lots of amenities included was met with rude staff and a dead soulless hotel and extortiante prices. Totally oversold and underdelivered.
Vodice appears to shut down very early September.

We went to Vodice to escape the crowded streets and cafés in Zagreb. The hotel Olympia Sky is perfectly situated at the beach with only a short walk to the city center. Our Superior room was huge, very clean and offered a stunning sea view. We also enjoyed our daily coffee and glass wine on the sunny terrace. Breakfast is ok, the halfboard buffet could provide more freshly prepared food (i.e. fish). Service friendly. For one dinner we went up under the roof to the Sky restaurant to enjoy a special menu around wild asparagus. Very friendly personnel, excellent food and wine as well as the spectacular sunset from the 10th floor were definitely the highlight of our stay. Due to Covid we didn't used the wellness facilities. Parking is safe in the garage. One observation we have experienced already in other hotels in the past weeks. There are still some guest not wearing masks - among others - in the dining facility. I do not understand why the personnel is not advising them respectively serving them. Just for business reasons or better reviews? With rising numbers all over the country that would be the easiest measure to protect the guests and the hosts.

My fiancé and I stayed at this hotel for a week in mid September 2023. It’s a solid 4 star hotel, but we did encounter a few issues along the way.

Good things:
We liked the breakfast, our room was huge and had a partial ocean view which we weren’t expecting, it’s very clean, the rooftop bar/pool area has some of the best views we’ve had in any hotel we’ve stayed in. The food we did have was good (more on this below) and the drinks too. We loved the close proximity to the beach and town and overall this hotel does have some luxurious elements to it that makes you feel like you’re definitely in a 4 star hotel. The views alone are worth staying for!

Not so good things: we had clearly arrived at end of season and as a result, the hotel had very few tourists (but did have quite a few people there for conferences) and a lot of facilities were closed or had amended opening hours. This extended to the vendors outside the hotel on the beach and in the town. Also, I eat a mostly vegan diet and this was VERY difficult to navigate during our stay. As is the case with most European hotels outside major cities, for whatever reason they don’t mark their buffet food and menus with allergens, so you don’t ever really know what’s in the food..There were zero plant based options available on any of the hotel menus and although they had plant milks at breakfast, the lady behind the bar said she was unable to make me a dairy free coffee. There are a couple of places in the town you can get a vegan option for dinner, but I had to make do most of the time and I can’t imagine how a very strict vegan/someone with an actual allergy would navigate eating whilst staying here. As much as I would usually encourage someone to talk to the staff, to see what they can do for you, the staff were (sadly) often very unapproachable. The guys upstairs at the skybar were great, but they were clearly rushed off their feet and service was so slow, if was difficult to grab someone. There is a guy who works on reception who was lovely to us and a couple of younger girls who were friendly, but there is one particular reception lady who isn’t very friendly and does not make you feel welcome. The cleaning staff were great and very courteous.

It also would have been great to have had some tea in the room, rather than just coffee.
