We stayed in Pervolia as we wanted to be away from the main tourist areas of Larnaca, yet we wanted to have restaurants and facilities close at hand.

We were kindly picked up from the airport by the proprietor, Marios and transfered straight to the apartment.

The property is located right in the heart of the village. Just next door is a Sports Bar and across the road is a Chinese Restaurant (handy for a takeaway!). Within 2 minutes walk there are at least 3 other Greek Cypriot restaurants, a hairdressing salon and a souvenir shop. If a pharmacist is needed you would have to go to the neighbouring village of Kiti, which is a 5-10 minute drive.

We had a 2 bedroomed apartment that was simply furnished, yet very spacious. There was a kitchen area with full size cooker, basic utensils enough for breakfast and a light lunch and a good sized fridge freezer. There was a welcome pack of supplies for us in the fridge and some tea and coffee to get us through a couple of days which was a nice touch. The TV only shows the local channels. The bathroom had shower only. Not sure if this was the case throughout the property. There is a communal-use washing machine in the corridor but we didn't need to use it. We had a couple of housekeeping queries which we addressed to Marios, and he immediately sorted them out for us. He was on hand most of the time and was always helpful.

Outside there is a pool and a children's small splash pool. There are also a couple of kids climbing frames/slides and lots of pool toys for kids use. There were at least 20 or so loungers, but it never really got busy so it was nice and quiet most of the time, but I suppose expected for the time of the year.

The nearest beach is about a 15 minute walk or a 2-3 minute drive from the apartment. Its quite pebbly so flip flops/sandals recommended, but if you drive a bit further up towards Kiti beach there is a bit more sand and more comfortable.

We hired a car from the 'Stevens Car Hire' company that was recommended by Marios. Very good value for money and no problems at all with the car.

We had a couple of meals in Pervolia. One recommended restaurant is Soutsos, however, we were disappointed that the waiters and waitresses were non-Greek speaking and took away the authenicity of the experience. In Larnaca town there is a new Greek Cypriot restaurant highly recommended. It is called 'Obos Balia' on the corner of Crete and Ellispontou street. The meze was phenomenal and there was an acoustic guitarist singing old Greek songs and the locals were having a good sing-along too. There are also some lovely restaurants in the 'Laiki Yitonia' area close to St Lazarus church, which is nice to get away from the main tourist areas.

We visited a couple of kids attractions. Recommended is 'Dreamland' An indoor and outdoor soft play/bouncy castle venue which also has a swimming pool open in the summer. It is just outside Kiti on the road to Tersephanou. We also visited the Camel Park which is on the road to Mazotos. There are many camels to see and some other animals too and a lovely playground for the kids. You have the option of paying extra for the camel rides.

Overall a lovely winter break in a no frills accommodation, but plenty of sun which is what we needed!!

We wanted a place for a couple of nights. We have used E Hotel before but it is much more expensive and not worth the extra. Mario goes out of his way to oblige and is friendly and helpful. The apartment/rooms are quite basic however they are clean snd my wife was happy that the double bed was comfortable. Pervolia does not have many options and at the price we were more than satisfied. We will stay here again next time.

I stayed in November and it was just perfect , this is not a 5* and nor does it charge for 5* for all those people who are moaning you want 5* then go pay the money. But this is all you need clean and comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. Marios is the kindest man you would want to meet and nothing is too much bother. Location wise is perfect just a 10 minute ride from the airport and 1 min into the village with shops, bars, takeaways and a few great Tavernas, the village is small so of course there are locals who live there with children and pets, that surely is a plus a feel for the real deal not stuck in a complex with dreadful entertainment and bars who want to rip you off. I have already booked for Feb, Thank you Marios see you soon x Julie

Me and my partner went for a weeks holiday and we weren't at all impressed with this accommodation. There seemed to be too many cockroaches, and the bedding didn't seem at all fresh. We weren't comfortable at all and just felt dirty in there. I would want anyone else to make the same mistake as us and choose this place, it ruined our holiday :-(

Not what you see advertised. Very small pool, continuous building work on site, extremely vocal neighbours with screaming kids well into the night. Non residents using pool at all hours. We did not feel at all safe in the apartment. Washing on line went missing so we had doors and bathroom window shut 24/7. Noisy aircon. Cleaners servicing other apartments banging and scraping plastic balcony furniture with total disregard for guests. CAGED DOGS on premises barking day and night, howling, then crying in pain. This was the final nail in the coffin. Bicycles were available for hire which should be dumped. Serious safety concerns using dilapidated vehicles on roads where locals drive like maniacs. Basic requirements in apartment, very dusty and smelly. Couldn't wait to leave for home.

I booked a studio for my parents and the place they stayed in was just terrible!
They were very unpleased with the accomodation. I went to visit them and saw the place for myself. The room was very old and poor. Not to mention how small it was. Everything looked and felt old and rusty. The room was not even equiped with enough toilet paper! The photos that marios shows in his website are nothing like reality. There was no big garden at the complex. Also the pool was not the one in the photos. It was half the size and much different.
My parents and I were very dissapointed!!

Just beside the centre of the village and 5min from the beach which is handy.
Simple but clean, the pool is not really useful but the room includes all the necessities.
Mario is extremely friendly

Perivolia is very small but close to the airport. Nice base if planning to visit a lot.

We booked here based on the Wi Fi access and photos that were advertised. But when we arrived the apartment we were put in was so disappointing - it was very old and worn out and overlooked the road and had a noisy bar next door. The only other alternative they had was a small and also very old apartment overlooking the dusty carpark and noisy neighbouring block of flats. The bathroom didn't even have soap or toilet paper. We then tried the Wi Fi- but despite trying all afternoon could not get access. The other thing we noticed was that the large swimming pool they show in their main photo does not even exist! They have one small pool.
We were so annoyed and disappointed that we left the day we arrived.
We found Savvas Complex nearby which was fantastic - 2 storey apartment with great Wi Fi and very comfortably set up and everything matches the photos. Savvas Complex is also a lot cheaper than Marios!
Marios Apartments use false advertising in every way - the room, the Wi Fi and the pool. Definitely Avoid.

I found Marios place on this forum and I don't regret a second. Marios picked us up from the airport and helped us with everything we needed during our stay. We rent a one bedroom apartment which was very clean and spacious. For my daughter the pool was the main attraction. Very quiet area - ideal for rest after a few month of winter (we're from Canada).
We'll be back for sure.

Traveled with family, stayed July 2011.

Daniel

"Ask for one in the new block and if possible with a good view. If you are bad on your legs then ask for a ground floor apartment since there is no lift to the second floor. Car hire is an advantage if you want to see the Island."
