Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

The staff at the Fairmont are the best ever. Service is superb. The hotel building is gorgeous and the lobby is welcoming. The George restaurant is beautiful - I felt transported to a different more genteel time. We had a lovely breakfast but unfortunately didn’t have time to eat dinner. Seattle has so many amazing food options. The location is fantastic just a few minutes walk to Pike Narket, Nordstrom’s. The ferries or pioneer Square.

Have stayed at the Fairmont many times and this visit did not disappoint. My room was amazing (and I was fortunate to get an upgrade to a Junior Suite) while the service from everyone (room service, bar staff, front desk, coffee shop) was fantastic. Great location, very comfortable and amazing service - you can’t go wrong at the Fairmont Olympic in Seattle.

Wonderful. Excellent service. Great room and amazing bar. Loved my stay. My favorite hotel in Seattle. Centrally located, elegant, a place to see and be seen. Was upgraded at no charge, had a delicious drink each night at the bar, and was able to both enjoy the hotel and get a lot of work done from my room. Wonderful stay.

I'm not sure if they were unprepared for the holiday weekend but our stay at the Fairmont Olympic was underwhelming to say the least. While the building, lobby and bar are incredibly beautiful and historic, the rooms could use a bit of a refresh, especially since both my partner and I were scratched by large upholstery staples sticking out of the chairs in the room. There were multiple room-service carts and trays left in the hallways overnight that began to smell before cleaned up. I found the people at the door, the valet and the cleaning staff to be very friendly and accommodating, but the Manager of this location was extremely condescending when I had questions about multiple pre-authorizations on my card. There also seems to be several miscommunications between the Front Desk and the rest of their staff, since we would have to call them multiple times, over the course of a couple of hours, for extra pillows and water, as well it frequently took longer than 20 minutes for the valet to pull around the car. That's excluding the time spent on hold just waiting for the front desk. Also definitely skip the George, very expensive for weak coffee, barely edible breakfast, and rude staff. Was glad that they were too busy the night before (yet only had three groups sat), so we weren't disappointed with our first meal in Seattle. in addition the response to my google review was worse than no response at all. If you’re going to just have a toothless apology that doesn’t address the issue said, it would be better to skip it.

First, we would like to thank you for choosing to stay with us and for the feedback even if it is mixed. We sincerely apologize if any colleague made you feel anything other than a valued guest at the Olympic as this is not our culture. We do hope you will find your way to return so that we are able to provide you the level of person service we are known for. If you would be so kind as to contact the hotel directly, we would like to work with you to reinstate your trust.

I stayed with you for one night and am familiar with the hotel from previous trips to Seattle. More than ever, the public spaces in and around the lobby were brilliant and the bar service was solid. However, the sophistication of the rooms is extremely underwhelming in comparison. Also, I felt like the breakfast food has gone down in quality significantly even though the price is quite high.

We went down to Seattle for my daughter’s Birthday and she had the best time ever! The hotel had a sofa bed set up for her with non-feather pillows so she was super happy (and not sneezy). They had a kids sized bathrobe for her and we were in the pool for almost two hours. What a fantastic place to be when it’s cold outside. The food at Shuckers was excellent (the swordfish was amazing). You can’t beat the location- easy access to the aquarium, Ferris wheel and Pike Place market. I highly recommend The Fairmont Olympic. Thanks for such a great mini vacation!

Took a shower and the tub started filling up with water but this was due to the drainage being poor so it backed up and brought all that yummy drain garbage into the tub. This was disgusting. There were things floating in the water that clearly came from the drain. There was no help to resolve this and the manager didn’t seem to care much. This is my second stay at this hotel and the plumbing was an issue the first stay. The sink, toilet, and bathtub backfilled for some reason with Pooh water. I don’t know what was happening, the front desk sent a technician but this was a big issue so we were moved to another room where the tub again filled up with water due to the drain not clearing the water. Clearly there is a horrible issue with Fairmont Olympia’s plumbing system. I don’t recommend this hotel. I imagine that people can get pretty bad infections from bathing here. It’s disgusting.

This is so unfortunate and not acceptable in the least. We profusely apologize for the inconvenience of this and understand how uncomfortable this must have made you. We would be interested to know how you were made to feel this was not taken seriously and if you wouldn't mind reaching out to our Executive Office at the hotel it would be appreciated. Again, our sincere apologies for your poor experience and we would like to work with you to ensure this is not your last impression of the Olympic.

Oh boy. Where to start. Pretentious hotel staffs all around. Poor Customer Service. Check in took 45 mins. 1 front desk agent available and obviously poorly staffed all around, for our stay. This place will not recognize your loyalty level - simply didn't care. Pool is incredibly dirty. Hot tube with floating debris. Tried calling for room service at 10pm. Nobody answered the phone. 6 item on the menu anyway. Had to order DoorDash. Valet was horrendous. We waited over an hour to obtain our car back. Yes calling ahead is the rational, but nobody picked up the phone when we called. Really poor experience all around. Not fairmont quality at all. So many other options.

This place is an absolute ripoff! I paid nearly $1K for a “deluxe king room” for 3 nights. I paid in full before I arrived and to my surprise, this hotel was immediately placing $100 “holds” on my card each day despite me not using amenities, and then I was getting over $33 per day in “urban experience fees” on top of the hold AFTER I’d paid in full. I called to complain on all this pop up charges receptionist could not explain it. She claimed she would fix it and the charges continued to happen so I locked my card and they disabled my room key, keep in mind I had already paid nearly $1K! Then they wanted $80 per night for parking (OUTRAGEOUS). They even attempted to charge me the fees and taxes on the morning of checkout at 6AM! To top it off, the hot tub isn’t hot and has crappy jets, tile looks dirty, beds are stiff as a board, my partner and I tossed and turned all night, rooms are stuffy and hot, even turning thermostat down doesn’t help. No complimentary snacks. Just water a very poor selection of coffee/tea. The toiletries have so much perfume they’re an assault on your senses and dry your hair to feel like straw. Never stay here! Try the State Hotel
