Birgit and Peter are wonderful hosts, friendly, courteous, helpful and always open to questions, whether it is about special tips in the area or other travel-related information.
The hotel is a real gem, located in the heart of a delightful little town with a beautiful harbor and numerous restaurants and wine bars.
The place is very tastefully and comfortably furnished, with a full kitchen and spacious rooms, some with a direct exit to the south-facing sun terrace.
Even though we were there in December, the atmosphere in the village was lively and you could even have lunch outside in the warm sun at the harbour.
We can highly recommend Birgit's and Peter's place and will definitely come back!

We stayed in the Petit Hotel Marseillan for our wedding in October with our close family. The rooms were excellent big in size beautiful bathrooms and excellent comfy beds. Birgit & Peter were amazing hosts, very helpful and informative, they organised us afternoon tea for the day of our wedding a long with wine from a local vineyard. The pool was lovely and cleaned really for us to use every morning. The breakfast was always ready for us and super tasty. The location is perfect in the centre of town and so close to the harbour & restaurants. It’s is a lovely intimate hotel with hosts that provide a special experience I will definitely be staying here again, we love this place. I and my family will definitely be staying there again. My 92 year old grandmother wants to go to the hotel again.

Just back from a wonderful 10 night stay in Le Petit Hotel Marseillan. The hotel is great with very charming and attentive hosts, Birgit and Peter, who make you feel relaxed and at home from the moment of your arrival. I had a lovely room on the top floor with a large balcony overlooking the pool. The breakfast are freshly prepared, copious and delicious, served on a lovely veranda. The hotel is in a great position close to the port area and just a few minutes walking distance to any of the host of nearby restaurants in this lovely little town. There is a very nice pool area - ideal for relaxing and sunbathing and the water is nicely warm for a leisurely swim. All just perfect. I can highly recommend Le Petit Hotel and look forward to a return visit soon.

A charming small hotel in the heart of lovely Marseillan, close to a host of good restaurants.
The room with terrace that we had was spacious and very comfortable and the breakfast on the main terrace makes a beautiful start to the day. But the piece de resistance must the well maintained pool.
Birgit and Peter are generous hosts full of useful tips on where to eat and visit, and could not have been more welcoming.

The first thing you noticed was that only people well over 70 frequented the house. Which isn't a big deal if you're used to dealing with pensioners. But now the self-appointed director of the house, Miss Biggy, is under the obviously constant influence of high-percentage and therefore what is called a "loose gun", uncontrollable because of your statements.

She told us something different every day about what would be included in the bill and what wouldn't, and every day she tried to sell us a "friendly, shared barbecue" on the terrace, which she would of course want to add to the bill at the end.

Never spend a minute in this place again!

This a gem. Hidden in plain sight. Very central location. It is small and friendly. The hosts Birgit and Peter are unbelievable. Bedrooms are large and individually designed. There is a lovely pool.
Breakfast is great. There are always interesting people here and you have the opportunity to mix or not as is your wish.
Marseillan has a great range of restaurants and your host have all the info on the current scene.
Walking around the port is like being on a film set. There are tourists but it’s not spoilt.

From the moment we arrived on this weekend break, Peter & Birgit could not have been more welcoming. The room was lovely, the house and facilities fantastic and the breakfast was super but the quality of the hospitality I can not rate highly enough.
We spent a happy afternoon on out first day with the charming hosts telling us of how to maximize our 3 nights in this beautiful french town.
Marseillan itself was lovely with fantastic eateries and an amazing stretch of unspoiled beach (literally miles!) a short bike ride away.
Will definitely return :)

Brigit and Peter were very helpful when it came to recommending places to visit, restaurants or directions. Used their bikes to get to the beach which was a scenic, easy route. Breakfast's were great. Market day (Tues) in Marseillan is a good time to be there. Sunday and Monday tend to be pretty quiet in the village although the marina resturants were open all the time.

Well... I'm not sure where to start.

Having only left Petit Hotel less than three days ago, I find myself compelled to write this review. Why?

Because Birgit and Peter deserve all the praise I can give them as they take being hosts to a whole new level. On arriving you are greeted by a couple who complement each other brilliantly. Both warm, with a great sense of humour.

Petit Hotel is filled with vibrant colours stimulating the eye, the fresh herbs and citrus trees by the warm, clean blue swimming pool add to the sense of smell.

The fresh fruit salad, cheese, ham, pastries and might I add a pleasing choice of something warm ( an egg cooked as you like - she cooks a boiled egg to perfection) completes my taste senses.

Sense of sound...
Well "Yes no problem" is music to my ears when on holiday and something you will hear throughout your stay from Birgit and Peter.

Sense of touch...
Birgit arranged for my partner and I to have a holistic massage. This guy had the magic touch. It was so relaxing my partner fell asleep 5 times.

Not only does this complete the sense of touch but their wish to fulfil all your holiday wishes touched us so much.

They organised a surprise golf trip for my partner who is a golf lover. He played golf with a friend of theirs at a local golf club (the guy was so friendly he even shared his golf clubs with may partner!).

I myself have an allergy to dairy and gluten and they bought everything they could find from the supermarket, that was gluten or dairy free. This ranged from biscuits to corn pasta, which we cooked together by the pool.

Birgit is hugely intuitive and she managed to adapt your stay to suit your needs. Over our 11 day stay we watched guest all leave with smiles and nothing but praise most re-booking
'Same time next year please..just a bit longer.'

I could write more and more but I wouldn't like to spoil it for you should you decide to visit.

I would like to warn you, should you decide to visit this place you shall never be able to visit another place like this without comparing the hosts to Birgit and Peter. As for us, we are hooked and are already arranging our next visit to this wonderful place.

I was actually a little nervous about writing this review, as I know that I am not the only one to write such a glowing review and the more others know about this place the more exclusive it shall become. But credit is given when it is due and this couple deserve all of the credit.

Thank you Birgit and Peter...Until we meet again x

Wow, we feel almost (!) embarrassed....we are the ones you have been very lucky to meet you two and we enjoyed every single minute we've spent with you amidst our other guests or just with you alone. We feel really very honoured by your review and are looking so much forward to host you again. Golf is already arranged as is the massage and Thai cooking...(found my green Thai curry paste the day after you've left - CONFUZIO should be my nickname) Thousand thanks, big hugs and see you very soon
