The options in Anchorage are limited, and there are no 5 star hotels. We stayed at the Hotel Captain Cook for a couple of nights but also stayed in a 2 bedroom at the Embassy Suites one night in August. I'll list the pros and cons so you can decide what type of accommodation to choose. Our corner high -...

We stayed at Captain Cook four times over our stay in Alaska and it was fun and comfortable each time. The staff was excellent and very attentive. We had a wonderful view from our corner room and we were upgraded to a well appointed suite for our fourth stay/ While many cruise ships pass through, somehow this hotel pulls it...

My stay at this hotel was 3 weeks long. I found the entire staff to be friendly ,knowledgeable and accommodating. It was a business trip and I worked the midnight shift. I was able to get housekeeping in first thing in the morning so I could go to bed. My room was clean and the bed was very comfortable

Was in Anchorage for business, so I stayed here with others on my team who had previously stayed here. Though the hotel felt a little rustic, it was very comfortable and convenient. The shops and food options in the hotel were a great addition that catered to coming home from work and not needing to make further dinner/drink plans. We...

My husband and I stayed here post cruise for 4 days. Beautiful hotel, lots of Captain Cook paintings etc as the hotel is obviously named for him and there is a lovely bronze sculpture outside which depicts his 3 voyages! The hotel has great restaurants, shops, is in a very central position and easy to get around Anchorage from here....

We stayed a couple nights at the Captain Cook while on the land portion of our Princess Sea & Land vacation. While clean, the hotel seems very dark and dated. I honestly felt like I was stepping back in time upon entering the hotel. Its a long walk between towers, so be prepared. The central location makes for a short...

I've been in AK for 3 weeks for work and decided to move to this hotel and give it a try. I read on their website that floors 16 and 17 had access to the captain's deck with the amenities I was looking for. I checked in no problem at the government rate and requested the 17th floor. They granted...
