This place is so cozy, beautiful and amazing, it could be in a movie. The staff is absolutely friendly, you get a familiy-atmosphere and the horse-riding-trip (3 hours through beautiful landscapes and a lot of tjolt:)) was so good, no farm near reykjavik or anywhere else can provide an experience like this. Also, it's pretty close to different sights, like...

We only stayed one night on our way around Highway 1, it was a comfortable place with excellent service, it was quiet and clean. It was too windy to use the hot tub when we were there, though some people did - very brave! Our room was comfortable and bathroom had a shower which was great! Downside the bed was...

Hotel is about 15 minutes from the ring road at Hella. The last few miles are on an unsealed road and fortunately this was the only negative thing I have to say about the hotel! On the plus side that does mean you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere when you're there. The owner is very nice, the...

Great peaceful retreat in the middle of nowhere. Gunner the owner was great and tended very well to our needs. Said he would wake us up to see the Northern lights, but they didn't appear. Horse riding avaliable and the hot tub is nice. Great to place to unwind. Dinner was a set menu but we liked everything on it...

Not sure why we stayed here - it was really in the middle of nowhere. I guess if that is what you want it is fine, but it isnt convenient to get to anything, and doesnt seem to be on the way anywhere. Stay here if you plan to go horeseback riding

A great place to stay in the countryside. We stopped here after a drive to Vik. Great views and walks. Wonderful welcome and service. Loved the modern design. Terrific food. Hot tub also available. Very relaxing.

This hotel is off the beaten path and situated on a beautiful farm with Icelandic ponies! We stayed in one of the double rooms on the upper level (accessible from the wooden staircase on the back of the house). The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and there was even a small loveseat and table which were quite convenient...

The hotel is 10 mins driving from the main road (#1), in the middle of the countryside. The atmosphere is great, particularly in winter and the family managing the hotel is incredibly helpful. Rooms were ok, but I was not excited; we spent 3 nights in Iceland and the other 2 nights were in cheaper hotels (-25%) with nicer rooms...

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Golden Circle. Our room was on the top floor. It was a nice room with lovely views of the countryside. The only thing I didn't like was the bedding and the pillows. I thought the sheets were too rough. They had a lounge above the dinning room where you can...

Friends and I spent two nights at Hotel Laekur in early March. The rooms and common areas were beautifully, if simply, decorated, the staff was very friendly and helpful (more below), breakfast a delicious spread of options, and no issues at all with the wifi (which is useful to have considering how remote this is!). Our only real disappointment was...
