My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Stracta. While the rooms are Spartan, the staff is very friendly. The restaurant is also very good. Our cocktails were well made, and my pork belly was absolutely delicious. My wife also enjoyed her fish casserole. We unfortunately did

First, I really liked this location. We stayed 3 nights. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The room we had was simple, very clean, nice bathroom, and the beds were very comfortable. Our room included a FREE breakfast that was a full buffet! Food is very expensive in

Visiting Iceland on a guided tour, we spent two nights here. Given that the area is quite remote there are only a few restaurants and shops in the town and on the evenings we stayed, there wasn’t much in the way of alternative dining venues that were open. As for the hotel, our

We have just returned from a five night stay occupying two rooms in the main hotel. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. A hairdryer is provided but I would have liked a mirror in the bedroom rather than having just one in the bathroom. We ate in the hotel on four occasions,

Hi, When you talk about the 1 bedroom apartment I guess you are referring to our studios :) The studios are 24m2 and there is a twin or a dbl bed along with a dbl sofa bed in one area. There is a small kitchenette with a fridge and a microwave in the same area. The bathroom is enclosed. There is not a private hot tub with our studios however all our guests are welcome to enjoy the hot tubs and saunas in the hotel garden. Our 2 bedroom apartments do come with a private hot tub. I hope this clarifies it for you but if not feel free to contact us again :) Kind regards, Rán

The studio has a microwave and bar fridge with some minimal cutlery and creative crockery. There is a couch in the small main room and a small separate bathroom with a shower and toilet. The deluxe suite has a single main room with a bath, couch, and bed with no kitchen facilities at all aside from a bar fridge. There is a separate bathroom with a shower and toilet, and an enclosed outdoor courtyard with a hot tub in it and some cheap outdoor furniture. This room is nearly 1000 euro/usd per night!

Hi Hadrian, We stayed in a basic room at the Stracta and our room did not have a kettle in it. There was a common room near the shared bathrooms, honestly I didn't even look in there for a kettle.

Dear L. You can take a bus to Reykjavík and transfer to another bus that goes to Hella. The hotel is located across the street from the Bus stop. The price for this fare is approximately 5000 ISK and you can look it up it is called straeto. Renting a car in Iceland can be the more convenient way to travel in Iceland and it can be relatively cheap. Stracta Car rental offers a drop off for at the hotel. Kind regards, Rán
