Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

While this property is a converted college dorm, it is quite an upgrade from any college dorm I am familiar with. The whole property is clean and well appointed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It is a perfect place for a quick stop on your Iceland tour.

Nice location, good breakfast, plentiful parking. No onsite restaurant - nearby Sauda is withing walking distance, but was extremely crowded. We went to Hard Wok Cafe for a so so meal. Overall it was a comfortable stay.

This is a hostel/school like accomodation used as a hotel during the summer months as a 2 star hotel.

The rooms are basic but clean. Don’t expect and you’ll be suprised... I slept very well at night and breakfast was decent.

This hotel was booked for us by Guide to Iceland. If you want to feel like you are in a college dorm then this is the place for you. Pros: easy to find as it’s a large orange building. Free parking. Front desk agent and artist was friendly. Cons: outside ramp is bumpy and not easy to drag your luggage. Carpeting in hallway has bumps for easy tripping. Our bathroom was so small that one person felt crowded inside. No toilet paper holder so you had to reach over your head (see pics). Shower door didn’t touch the floor so water got everywhere. Slight sulfur smell in shower. Soap smelled heavily of cheap perfume. No mirror outside the minuscule bathroom for partner. Dark shades barely did anything (see pics). Breakfast was in a huge cafeteria-like kitchen yet couldn’t procure a hot breakfast. You had to walk across the kitchen to add milk to your coffee. No television in the room. No coffee or tea available in the room. No restaurant on site for dinner. Please click “helpful” if you found this info informative.

This hotel had no personality - very stark and basic furnishings. Rooms were not very comfortable and a bit noisy from other rooms.

Hotel staff were nice and helpful and breakfast and wifi were good.

It is OK for one night but I wouldn't want to stay any longer. Probably wouldn't stay here again.

Reception staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms were basically my college dorm. Very basic. No tv in rooms, no restaurant on site, although breakfast buffet was adequate. Wifi was spotty. Ask for mountain view as you cannot really see the water due to buildings.

This is a hotel that seems to have converted college dorms into rooms. Absolutely basic with no TV or other amenities in the room. We were on vacation and staying at really nice hotels and lovely small family owned places. This was quite a step down

We found the rooms (and bathrooms) in this hotel much more basic than the rooms we had in various guesthouses. Although probably necessary, we found the extraction fans in the bathroom quite noisy and you can not turn these off.

We stayed here for one night during a two-week road trip around Iceland. This is a hotel during the summer and student accommodation during the remainder of the year.

Our three-bed room was basic but clean; the receptionist was very friendly and helped with restaurant recommendations. We were also able to have our laundry washed overnight for a reasonable price!

Breakfast was served in the main dining room with plenty to choose from. Free parking is available and restaurants within reasonable (ten-minute walk) distance. Internet was fast in our room.

The best of the three hotels of this type we stayed in during our holiday. Recommended!

This hotel was booked as part of a package we took from icelandroadtrip.com and we stayed one night here in a twin and a triple room. We were checked in by Louise and she was very friendly, helpful and patient. She gave recommendations on where to eat and what to do. She also lent me a kettle and advised on the laundry. We paid 1000ISK for a load of 5kg.

Hotel was big. There was also sitting area just outside our rooms. Hotel room generally was alright as it came with attached bath. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was adequate to start the day.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in that area.

Hotel is situated near to the town so meals were not a problem.

"The address listed is wrong. If you are lookng for the hotel you need to GPS Skagfirdingabraut 24 and turn into Saemundarhild where you'll see the driveway to the carpark. If you go to address listed you'll end up at their guesthouse which is a hostel style accomodation."
