This is a well run lovely hotel set in a beautiful location with fantastic views over a stunning valley. The breakfast each morning was extremely good with a wide range of quality food that was very well presented which you could enjoy on a lovely terrace. It’s only a small point but they make some of the best scrambled egg I have ever eaten in a hotel ! The hotel is within 5 minutes walk of San Pantaleo which is a delightful authentic village with a range of lovely restaurants and places to have a pre dinner drink. You do need a car to get around and access fantastic beaches which are less than 20 minutes drive. Best local beach Rena Bianca 15 minutes drive. Plenty of free parking at hotel. Boat trip to La Maddalena islands from Palau a must. We booked via Trip Advisor -Elena Tour Navigazioni and had a wonderful day Santa Teresa Gallura beautiful town to visit with fantastic views to Corsica.

Perfect location at the edge of San Pantaleo. Hotel Arathena was just what we were looking for. Lovely hotel in a beautiful location, our room was at the front with gorgeous views. Fantastic breakfast with an excellent choice of food which was slightly changed each day. All the staff were amazing and we can’t thank them enough for making our holiday special. We will definitely be returning. Thank you Hotel Arathena!

The hotel is just as pretty as it looks on the pictures! The staff are polite and helpful and arranged a hire car for us which was all straight forward and needed as very difficult to get around without. Great choice of breakfast. We do love a chilled holiday but did find the atmosphere at the hotel to be lacking, the bar doesnt open until 3 and we had to ring a bell to order not that we were kept waiting but just felt a little flat. The pool area was so quiet, no background music or noise whatsoever, not even people talking so we didnt spend any time there. San pantaleo is 5 minutes walk away and is truly beautiful with authentic italian charm and a great selection of bars and restraunts. overall the hotel is a great base to explore

The hotel is immaculate and clean, in the lovely small village of San Pantaleo. Car hire is essential as there isn’t much in the village for a day time, and with fabulous beaches only a 15-20 minute drive away, we found the perfect balance of visiting a beach for the first half of the day, then coming back later either for time at the pool or on the balcony. We had a room with a balcony and one without, and both had spectacular views out to the mountains, and were really well maintained. The balcony room as a superior room, had a kettle, tea etc, and it was thanks to the fabulous receptionist that we were able to move to this room, as in UK we hadn’t been able to upgrade to a balcony. The upgrade price was well worth the money. Note that the hotel does a few snacks only throughout the day, and in the square we found we could only really get a mozzarella toastie also as the main place that did lunch was always busy with no tables left in the shade. At night time, there is a restaurant in the hotel, that’s run independently to the hotel, and there are a few in the village but note that it is worth booking tables as we found the restaurants got very busy and could not always accommodate. All the staff at the hotel we found to be first class, from the ladies on reception, to the breakfast team who also manned the bar throughout the day and night. Breakfast, whilst the same every day, always had plenty, and I loved the cakes and croissants, and the Americano. I have to also commend what was the best mojito I’ve ever had, which I had by the pool. Absolutely delicious, and only €9! Can also recommend a trip to Porto Rotondo, and also Porto Cuervo.. personally I preferred the former, and enjoyed well priced drinks by the marina after being wowed by the super yachts. All in all we had a fabulous time, loved it.. not for the rowdy, looking to party..but definitely for us!

The hotel is beautiful, placed on a hill with a view of the mountains. We had a balcony overlooking the sunset, so we spend a lot of evenings with a glass of wine watching the sunset. The hotel is placed in a village with walking distance to small stores, restaurants, bars and a gelateria so you have everything close by.

The hotel was very nice. Clean room, plenty of space. Tea and coffee facilities, but no milk. However, there was a fridge that was not pointed out to us. Luckily a fellow resident mentioned a fridge so we searched and found it. We paid extra for a balcony which was definitely worth doing. Nice pool area, extremely quiet, shade or full sun which ever needed. Good sunbeds with mattresses. Good breakfast, self service with the usual available, fruit, yoghurt, cheese, meat and bread rolls. But the restaurant was closed! No lunch or evening meal. How difficult could it be to have some bread, rolls, salad, meat and cheese available? The hotel is in Sardinia's Costa Smeralda, a most beautiful part of Sardinia. About 10 or 15 mins to the nearest decent beach. Spiaggia Rena Bianca.

Hotel Arathena is a 2 minute walk from the centre square of San Pantaleone, the rooms and facilities are spread across several levels, connected by stairs. I found it very charming though if you have trouble with stairs then you probably will have some difficulty navigating the hotel. Definitely try out the restaurant at the hotel, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is prepared well, and the patio is a nice place to sit. Rooms are clean, our room had a great view of the surrounding valley. The same view can be head from the pool, quite the experience. Check in went smoothly, luggage was brought to our room promptly. We traveled just before the busy season, so I can't comment on how things go at full capacity, but since it is a smaller hotel I don't think it will ever feel too crowded.

We stayed here for a week. Covid precautions were visible but not intrusive. The hotel is beautifully set on a hill, literally a 5 minute walk into town. Our room was simple, very comfortable and super clean. Just lovely. The pool area was good. The food in the restaurant was exceptional in the evenings and breakfast was great too with a wide choice from fresh fruit, scrambled eggs etc to delicious pastries. All the staff were utterly charming and helpful. Highly recommended.
