The staff was on strike (along with the rest of Norwegian hospitality staff) the days that I was there, but the hotel itself, while a little dated, was very comfortable and welcoming. Good comfortable beds and good wifi. I didn't spend a lot of time in the room but it was comfortable when I did. I would stay there again...

We had the pleasure of staying at the sortland hotel as part of a northern lights trip. We had one of the refurbished room and it was warm, clean, modern and cosy. The staff were really friendly, the food was very good and there was always a hot cup of coffee. Our tour guide Robert went out of his way...

The wing we were in has recently been refurbished . The hotel is clean and the staff were very friendly and obliging. It is a hotel in a working arctic town but it is warm and it is a great base for exploring this lovely area from. I would happily stay there again

Our room had just had new bathroom which was really nice , shower was hot and powerful. The bed was comfy and warm. The room was also warm enough. There was lack of storage and had to live out of the suitcases. In 4 nights we were there our room was only cleaned once. The restaurant was clean and nicely...

Action packed 4 night stay at the newly refurbished Sortland Hotel. Great, tireless guide; delicious food; dog sledging, whale watching, fantastic scenery, hiking, reindeer farm and, of course, aurora. All that we could have hoped for in a short break.

I've been here before and last weekend's stay recalled Robert Frost's remark about home 'when you have to go there they have to take you in'. Flame haired Gretha gave me her Hollywood smile before breakfast which is as good as you get anywhere in Norway. The rooms are on the small size but then you stay in Sortland to do...

We stayed here for one night and wish we hadn't ! I'm sure there are nicer places to stay in the area. The positives: the library bar was lovely and get service was good. The double room and bathroom were very spacious, large enough for 2 kids beds to be added and still space to move around comfortably. Buffet breakfast...

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a fly-drive holiday organised by a travel company. The hotel and its rooms do look a bit tired and in need of some updating. Rooms are basic but ours was clean and the bed comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and we had a very nice meal in the...

A bit old fashion and tiered looking hotel, but with a lot of history. The staff is very friendly, the breakfast standard with tasty coffee, good bed and hot water in the shower. They even have a restaurant and a bar witch looked really cozy. Free Wi-Fi, but with these codes that you have to punch in several times during...
