Wonderful walking holiday, with breathtaking scenery and historical homestead all perfectly curated by hosts Luka and Zana. The accomodation is very comfortable, the food was great, accompanied by local wines and home made schnapps. Afternoon tea , and pre dinner drinks with canapés were a treat we looked forward to each day. Dinner at a farmhouse with a local family was a wonderful touch of Slovenian living but the real treat are hosts Zana and Luka. These amazing humans will share with you life stories, history, and unbridled generosity .You will laugh and cry with them . A great group of fellow walkers rounded out our stay here . Great communication from Luka pre walk . Don’t hesitate to book .

Luca received us with a big smile when we arrived at Pri Lenart. From this moment on we had already a good feeling. And in the end this seemed to be the case. The stay at Pri Lenart is all about making new friends with different backgrounds with at first sight only walking in nature as common interest. It gave us also the opportunity to meet the local people with the help of the excellent guides. Breakfast, lunch for the walks, dinner and the trips were organised to perfection. This seemed effortless for Zana and Luca. Everything was done to please us. We had only to put our boots on or our feet under the table. In short: It was an unforgettable holiday week. Žana and Luka have hit upon the perfect combination of stunning location, superb organisation, wonderfully varied food and a welcome that is second to none. The hotel is small (with just 8 guests) and situated in an historic building typical of the area. The guided walks are interesting, have an appropriate degree of challenge and give an opportunity to learn something of the history of Slovenia and the way of life experienced high in the mountains whilst puffing up the "Slovenian Flat" to the next viewpoint. Žana is a genius in the kitchen with never a dull meal and Luka constantly on hand to administer beverages of every description. Eating an evening meal with a local farming family is an experience not to be forgotten; likewise the Schnapps at every opportunity! Of course, none of this happens by accident and the high quality of the holiday and the happy faces of the guests is testament to the hard work and effort this lovely couple and their team of helpers put in to making our stay one that will stay long in the memory.…

In our experience on the tourist trail, luxury rarely meets genuine personal care, but our walking week at Pri Lenart was an absolutely standout. From the get-go, the accommodation was note perfect. The small hotel with its spacious and comfortable exposed timber rooms and glorious Alpine outlooks immediately created a sense of “family”. That intimacy was carried through to the communal dining, where Žana’s exquisite portion-perfect three course dinners (affably and expertly served by Luka) were preceded each night by aperitifs and ‘taste of the Balkans’ canapés and were followed by schnapps and thoughtful after-dinner conversation. But the week’s highlight were the walks. Tailored to our abilities and sometimes challenging (they require a decent level of fitness), the jaw-dropping views and glimpses into Slovenian rural life were worth the slog. Especially when brought to life by insights from our daily guides - Uroš with his boyish enthusiasm, Andraž with his charming commentary and Luka, with his wide-ranging knowledge of all things local and international. By week’s end, we felt as if we belonged to a family. And to think that the entire week came with an all-inclusive fee is extraordinary. If you're looking for a truly authentic European experience in a beautiful mountain setting - without the crowds and queues - come to Pri Lenart in Slovenia. The hotel owners, Luka and Zana, have put their heart and soul into running the chalet hotel, and it shows in every detail, ranging from the homemade bread at breakfast to the after dinner schnapps made by locals or friends (there is a different flavour every night). We love food, and each night we were amazed at the standard and variety of Zana's dishes. We later found out they had road-tested many recipes before taking over the hotel. Luka and Zana are genuinely warm and hospitable people; we always felt looked after and that nothing was too much trouble. On our guided walks through picture-postcard mountains (which are not hard to climb), they pointed out wild raspberries which we sampled. What a treat! One of the highlights was meeting the other guests from different countries. We were strangers at the start but we bonded over a love of walking, travel, good food and wine and lively conversations. We has the most wonderful experience staying with Zana and Luka always so helpful, cheerful and informative, it was like being guests in a luxury private house, they couldn’t do enough for us . Every detail was exceptional, the absolutely delicious meals, all locally sourced food, wine, beautifully clean rooms with flowers , chocolates, tea, coffee etc . Every walk was expertly guided, we learnt so much about the country, wild flowers ,people, mountains, they were always looking out for the weather etc…we felt in very safe hands. As well as thoroughly enjoying their company, we were lucky enough to be part of a great group of like-minded people, we absolutely loved it. I highly recommend this holiday, we have such happy memories and felt fitter afterwards! I have been planning my trip to Pri Lenart since 2019. During this period, correspondence with Luka was exceptionally prompt and professional Pri Lenart surpassed my expectations. We walked through Alpine meadows with wildflowers, through forests and up mountains to spectacular views. Upon our return, Zana would have cooked a cake for afternoon tea, a well-deserved treat, which we ate in ‘The Barn’, overlooking the meadows. Every morning, a delicious breakfast was served, then Zana would tell us what culinary delights, she would be preparing for dinner. Pri Lenart was built in 1682. It has five guest rooms. My room was a very spacious haven, after a long walk. The most unique element of Pri Lenart is Zana & Luka treated us, as special guests. It was a very personal, unique and memorable experience. My week in Pri Lenart has been absolutely great. Luka and Zara who are running this beautiful little hotel (only 5 rooms in a more than 500 year old house) are great hosts: The hotel is very charming high up and right next wonderful hiking trails overlooking the stunning scenery of Slovenia. Everything is spotlessly clean (also entire Slovenia btw), Zara is cooking very tasty food with local ingrediences (large variety, very creative, strong healthy touch), the rooms are cozy/ luxerious (with home-baked biscuits and a large variety of teas & coffee) and Luka is the brain behind the hiking tours, partly run by him, partly they are run by other families members (son) or guides connected to the family. we were hiking both in the area very close by and also further away (where a comfortable Mini-bus was taking us) - this let us see many different pitoresk areas of Slovenia (Lake Blad, Soriska Plania, etc.). we learnt a lot about Slovenia and the culture both during the hikes and drives, but also very naturally during afternoon teas back at the hotels and after dinner. Luka and Zara are really giving everything to make everyones stay superb, as they are having great experience from travelling themselves and have very different professional backgrounds, the exchange goes way beyond the "regular". I highly recommend Pri Lenart run by Luka and Zara as a unique place to stay if you are out after coming to a lovely and exclusive home while experiencing superb hikes and food.
