Great views, location and service. Nice to do some hiking in the cooler, but still sunny, October weather. Just completed our 7th stay, and already making plans for the next one. What more needs to be said ;-)

Still a lovely place with awesome panoramic views, ideal base for excursions in the many national parks surrounding Alora, including the famous Caminito Del Rey. Breakfast was great, with fresh fruits, cheeses and local delicacies. Looking forward to next year!

The good points are great views over the countryside and Alora village. Nice touch of a welcome drink and one to one review of things to do, places to eat etc. But the rest is well, average to poor by our standards. We felt awful about taking a hire car up the steep track to Casa Domingo and would not have taken our own car up that's for sure. Meeting another vehicle on the track is a real challenge and not for the faint hearted. The double room was basic with some wardrobes and a dated small bathroom where an alternating hot and cold shower is experienced without changing the setting. Bed bottom sheet all bobbly, so how old is that? You can hear every word and slightest movement from guests in the adjoining room. No fun being woke at 1pm in the morning. Breakfast is average with the owners star attraction of the offer of a boiled egg. Whilst no evening meals are offered, we were 'told off' the only night of four we were at Casa Domingo for eating a roll on a paper plate around the pool whilst enjoying the views because we should be on the patio. Great views yes but being directly below the flight path into Malaga with planes every few minutes drowning out the peace and tranquillity we came for. Payment by euro cash only is required on arrival and passports confiscated until payment made. We were asked for the cash every day (we needed to change pounds to euros). It is obvious now why he asks for cash only on arrival. Owner goes into your room without prior notice. We arrived back one day to discover our window blind missing and a mobile landline telephone left in the room. When asked he said "yes I removed it as it is going to rain tomorrow to let light into the room. We had already discovered that the blind could not be pulled up as it was broken. Avoid is our advice. Low standard of accommodation.

We stayed here for 4 night, whilst exploring the area inland of Malaga, having booked a suite from Yves & Karina, our Belgian hosts at Casa Domingo. This pretty Casa Rural, with the beautiful main house which our suite was a part of, and several studios in the grounds, was a wonderful, relaxing base to return to at the end of our exploring each day. The 'piece de resistance' being the fabulous pool area in front of the house from which amazing panoramic views of the countryside lay before you. I had to check out this vista at least once a day, just great for the soul! Our suite was large and airy, simply furnished as is typical of Casa Rurals but with all we needed for a short break. The bed was huge, and one of the most comfortable I have slept in , which is a big statement for me as I was having an osteoarthritis flare up during our stay, whilst my chap slept like a baby, as ever! Yves was a lovely man, who managed to balance being attentive to our needs without being intrusive. Each morning before our days exploring he would offer information, including maps of the areas we proposed to visit, which was invaluable to us. Unfortunately we didn't meet Karina as we were out most days until late and she was obviously the lady making the breakfast happen behind the scenes before we left for the day. Our booking included a daily breakfast which was taken on the casa's terrace overlooking the pool and beautiful gardens, to the tune of birdsong. Breakfast was on a self service basis, with a range of teas or coffee, fresh fruits and juice, cereal, wonderful artisan breads, meats, cheeses and jams and an option of omelette too - satisfying for both of us. This Casa Rural is not within walking distance of Alora, being accessed by a track, and concrete road that was perfectly fine to negotiate in our hired mini. This is the compromise for the fabulous setting the casa sits in, and which added to the casa's charm in our view. Yves offers a well stocked honesty bar for beers, wines, soft drinks and snacks which we used several times, it''s a bit pricey compared to the supermarket but it's there if you want it and as there was no fridge in our room it was a bonus for us at the time. We are apparently amongst the few English people that had booked Casa Domingo since Yves & Karina bought it, this being mainly because their bookings come on a word of mouth basis and I happened to choose them following an internet search. In my view we brit's have been missing out on this holiday destination in 'real spain' and I hope my review inspires others to visit, don't get me wrong, it's not a 5 star hotel, the plumbing complains when you run a bath but if that's a deal breaker for you then you're probably not going to like Casa Rurales full stop. We loved it and wouldn't hesitate to come back.

This lovely B&B is not far from the main road, but may aswell be on another planet from the perspective of peace and tranquility. You definitely need transport, but once you reach Casa Domingo you can just relax, the hosts are attentive without being obtrusive, breakfast was fantastic taken on the patio overlooking the pool with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside, sadly we didn't use the honesty bar or lounge, but the fact that it is available ensures that you have everything you could ask for in a beautiful place. Will hopefully have the chance to return.
