Friendly atmosphere with clean room and comfortable bed and bathroom. Central location with car park a few blocks away. Basic breakfast and great for an overnight stay or weekend break. The hostel was fully booked and popular.

We stayed in the Duran a couple of nights whilst exploring the local area. It's a big, old Spanish property run by Paco, a local man who knows everything and everyone in Alora and is very helpful and friendly (and speaks a bit of English). The room was small and basic but clean with a little balcony looking out at...

We stayed here for one night at the end of a cycling holiday. The family running the hostal were very friendly and we had a double room with ensuite and balcony with view of the castle for 45 euros- breakfast of coffee, toast, toasted croissant and spreads was 5 euros extra per person. The hostal is an old historic building...

Very friendly atmosphere. Central location clean and tidy. Paco was a true gentleman. Easy parking for motorcycles and a great view from the balcony. Very good value for money and the air conditioning worked a treat.

We stayed at this little guesthouse whilst we were exploring the area. The owner Paco is very friendly and knowledgeable, he will help anyway he can so just ask. If you have one of the rooms looking over the castle the view is beautiful both in the night and morning. You can have breakfast served on the terrace for 5...

This lovely B & B was a real gem! We stayed in early June & luckily had the back corner 2 - bed room with the magnificent view of the town & castle. We were right under the flight path into Malaga Airport & got great views of the undersides of all the jets coming in to land. The hotel...

We went to Alora on family business in December 2013 and although the reason for our visit was sad we were made to feel very welcome in this lovely hotel. Hotel? Well maybe a better description is high quality B&B given the lived in family atmosphere but with the room quality of a 3 star establishment. Despite not speaking any...

We stayed in Alora at Hotel Duran on a cycling tour of Andalucia. The hotel is well placed near the central square of this authentic Spanish town and meets all your basic needs with clean rooms, good air conditioning and an impressively sized wooden front door ! Breakfast was the usual bread, jam and coffee. The hotel owner was very...

This was very good value for money, it was clean and we had a balcony overlooking the castle where we were served breakfast which included the best cup of tea we'd had in Spain. I would certainly stay in the Duran again if I wanted to stay in Alora

We looked for somewhere convenient for El Chorro gorge and Malaga airport which it certainly was, about 45 mins away (plus getting lost round the aiport roadworks) Hostal Duran is fairly basic, although we had the better room with a balcony overlooking the arab castle. Parking can be fraught, the streets are very narrow. Breakfast basic toast and croissants. Paco...
