Super location with basic but very adequate accommodation in a cave with en suite shower room. Table 2 chairs & an armchair in a little room before the bedroom with TV. Lovely & cosy & great views at the front. Friendly lady at reception

The location is absolutely fantastic. The views in the morning - breathtaking. The service is very good but accommodation is basic. But worth it for the view. Be prepared for no soap, no separation between toilet and bedroom.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cuevas Abuelo to anyone seeking some solitute away from the stressful daily life. It's soooo tranquil and restful for both body and mind (mostly the latter). However, the first impression needs to be improved on. The entrance looks tatty and run-down with signs and lamp-posts that has fallen down. A quick glance at the pool...

We were not expecting much due to the modest room rate but we could not have been happier, the cave was a wonderful experience and on a cool winters day outside, it felt like walking into a centrally heated room inside. We were greeted on arrival and served over an excellent dinner by Maialen, who would be a credit to...

Great little hobbit home for one night stay. Yes, the outside is a bit ramshackle in places. It looks like the owner keeps adding new bits but the Spanish weather soon makes them look tatty. The wooden shade/sunbathing (?) platforms aren't quite like the ones you see in glossy brochures. That's because the local chippy knocked them up using some...

This is unlike anywhere we've ever been. Although the satnav had trouble locating it a friendly passer-by guided us towards the hotel and it was well worth the visit. The lady at reception, who also served the food, was charming and friendly. The food is very simple but honest, varied and well cooked. You can choose your time to eat,...

Wonderful experience. Amazing views over snow capped mountains. Had 2 rooms on upper level. Very friendly person in charge who came out to greet us with 3 friendly dogs and 3 cats. Had tapas and drinks which was more like main meal. Just kept coming. Breakfast included tostada, platter of meat and cheese, pate, bowl of fresh fruit, yoghurts, mixed...

What a great place once you FIND it. Garmin GPS was a total fail on this one. Entering the given street name and number will take you around in circles. If you enter TORREMOLINOS 44 you will have better luck. You will be on a narrow, winding, two lane road and it will appear that you have left town. Do...

It's very relaxing and beatiful place. Is, as all the caves in the areas, a little bit outhside the city (Guadix) I loved to stay there! Some reviews are too strict!! Extremely strict for what we find! The rooms are clean and comfortamble. They have 2 floors (the best one is the upper one for the view of the sierra...
