La Cortes de Lugas was booked because it most importantly accepted dogs! We upgraded our room to a bungalow which was separated from the hotel by a few steps and a small walk. Modern and spacious inside. We stayed at the hotel again on our return and stayed in a twin room with lounge in a different part of the... More

When I was looking for dog friendly hotels on my trip to Galicia, I struck gold here. The area is serene, the rooms terrific, and the food bloody excellent. All the staff couldn't be more friendly. One day I will return, it's that good.

La Corte de Lugas was discovered by an internet search for our six night holiday in Asturias. On arrival we were greeted by Blas the owner Dani's Spanish Water Dog who kindly offered us an orange, we were then warmly welcomed by Dani. Our traditional Spanish room was spacious, comfortable and peaceful. Our thanks to Dani who was most helpful... More

We stayed 4 nights on our Asturias tour. All we really wanted was peace and quiet and did we get it. The Casita de la Plaza - an independent home - was beautifully furnished, with all the modern amenities, set in a quaint and rustic setting. Daniel, the host, who we were in constant touch with, was extremely helpful. The... More

I travel the world for my job and have stayed in all types of properties, ranging from budget to luxury. This hotel I have to say was one of my saddest experiences. Not only was the ambiance of the entire property dark and depressing, the hotel restaurant was overpriced, with a limited menu and sub-standard quality. When asked checking out... More

Nice hotel located in a quiet and small village in the mountains. Rooms are big and comfortable, at least the classic, with a good mix of old and modern style. Breakfast is really complete and they offer also restaurant service. Above average but a bit expensive. Dani is very kind and always try to help you. He can recommend you... More

My family and I are touring in Northern Spain and have been so grateful to find such a superb place to stay. Lugas is a quiet hamlet and La Corte is a beautiful hotel in keeping with its surroundings. The buildings, courtyards and dining areas steeped in historical interest and the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. As always the... More

We had a fantastic break away in La Corte de Lugas. The accomodation was perfect mix of old, cosy traditional building with wooden beamed ceiling and 4 poster bed combined with all the luxury and convenience of modern touches. The views and scenery in the surrounding mountainous and green area are breath taking - a world away from the tourist... More

Instead of driving south from Santander we decided to spend 2 nights in Asturias and found this wonderful hotel. Asturias is very green with dramatic scenery, fantastic food & Sidra and we received a very warm welcome at La Corte de Lugas. We arrived around 9pm and enjoyed an excellent dinner in the Restaurant. The rooms were comfortable and rustic.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
High above Villaviciosa, the farming hamlet of Lugas is so remote that they have yet to hear what happened to the Spanish Armada. Except at La Corte, a grand stone-and-wood farmstead where the welcome is sharp and frankly Anglophile. Upgraded in baronial style - all beams, open fireplace and four-posters - the family-run spot has warmth, dignity and good food, in equal measure. A cracking base for the Atlantic coast or Picos de Europa mountains. ... more   less
