My husband and I wanted to get away from the concrete jungle of New York and Manila, and Mangenguey island was the perfect place to go. It's remote, quiet and simple. I opted to spend the beach portion of our Asian Honeymoon on Mangenguey Island. I was meant to be paying $240 per night for the two of us, including food but not the taxes and service charges which were another 22% on top. For this price you can live in the lap of luxury on a really top resort in...

We stayed at Mangenguey for 6 nights, 18th – 24th November, we choose this location based on the reviews we had read on this site. We were not disappointed, it was even better than the previous reviews outlined. Both of us are seasoned travellers and this was a totally different experience to the run of the mill resorts we had...

I must agree with most previous reviews. Mangenguey is not a 'hotel', it is a different experience altogether. Barefoot luxury par excellence and much more. We were honoured guests at an old friend's private hideaway, being surrounded by the most stunning natural beauty, enjoyed amazing off the beach snorkelling and quite frankly the most amazing cuisine in the whole of...

“We liked the Crimson room for the value, and the fun decor. The bathroom reminded us of a treehouse. The huge balcony afforded great views of the ocean.”

“The beach cottages (Crimson/Azur and Mimosa) are the best located. Rooms in the main house are nicely done but not very 'authentic'. Rosa 1 and 2 are in a poor location.”
