Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

New islamic owners has banned alcohol and introduced segregated pools for men and women and everything else who fits the quran. All-halal menu and they require women to cover-up while at the segregted swimming pool, while your husband can be in a other pool. You will be trown out if you do not like call to prayer at 04.00 and tthe other 4 times daily. If you want to make holiday in islamic state without head chopping, this hotel will fit your expatations .

Ok!! Booked all inclusive.. food just ok. Toddler ate most food as did I.. partner and eldest son ate sod all!!! Bar staff was fantastic!! But don’t be fooled by the all inclusive drinks!!! I sat at the bar one morning watching the staff water down all the spirits.. it is what It is.: happening everywhere. Found out I was pregnant at this hospital place so it will always hold a special memory for me!!

AVOID - This hotel now has new Islamic owners, alcohol is strictly barred and they have also introduced separate pools for men and women. Women must cover up at all times. All food is halal. Not an ideal venue for westerners, choose another hotel in the area

From now on you'll know you're in a muslim country. The food is halal. The alcoholic drinks are banned, yes even beer. And at the swimming pool they expect you to wear a burka so not showing off any disgusting flesh.... Guess guest numbers will fall a bit 😉🥂

Hi all .. firstly can I say how hard the staff work On the frontline from reception, the pool bar , the waiting staff in the restaurant, the entertainment team the cleaners and the lovely lady in the shop they work their butts off they all cannot do enough for you any of them I truly mean it.. you want a trip they sort it you want a drink they give it you, you leave your towels in a heap they give you new ones. You want a cold bucket of ice over your head when you loose at a game you’ve got it with extra ice for bring a looser.. you want ready salted crisps at 10pm it’s there all with friendly faces and endless energy and humour pancakes and fresh omelette cooked to your liking in the morning with a smile and attention to detail it’s all there. The Place it’s self is out of the way it’s small it’s quaint it’s airy and has a pool and a slide for the kids it’s surrounded by beautiful flowers and fruit growing on trees it’s self contained and you are right by the pool bar it has a massage place with a Turkish bath and they come round to ask you to go and a photographer who is keen to take your family photos .. it’s got some beautiful scenery in the mountains and plants etc the pool it’s self is one of the cleanest I’ve been in the snack bar is in the restaurant which is next to the pool up some steps toilets are near by too bonus .. ok so I’ve described our little home for two weeks. Ok so this is it ..THE NEGATIVES.. ROOMS.. the rooms are tiny we did ring jet2 before we went to get them to request them together but nope we were down the corridor to our kids in the teeniest hotel rooms I’ve ever been in and then they stuck a fold up bed in it too .. but I have to say that I did ask reception if we could move they did sort it the next day and gave us two rooms a little bit bigger but next door to each other with larger balconies still the smallest ever rooms but the bonus was we had a better view and was closer to everything. THE POOL freezing cold but get in splash about and you do get warm.. the slide is only for 1 hour twice a day. FOOD limited choice but we didn’t starve just didn’t have anything different each night but breakfast was lovely with the lovely lady who made fresh fried eggs Omelettes and pancakes. They did have salad to accompany the meat they served. ICE CREAM Served between 3.00 and 4.00 vanilla and chocolate only and that’s the only time you could get an ice cream but the portions were large. SUN LOUNGERS The cushions on were filthy but our towels covered them (only used for sunbathing on loungers and boiled when home ) but the biggest annoyance was the man who went round turfing you off at 5pm when pool is officially open until 7pm he’d make such a fuss and say “finished ...off!” meaning get off your loungers and sit on the chairs in the shade it was annoying not that I would stay on the loungers until 7 but it was still very warm at 5 and dinner didn’t start until 7pm and entertainment at 9pm. Our big thing was we were there at the end of the “season” and the last three days of our holiday boy did we know it !!! They were cleaning everything up moving stuff about and packing up and running stuff down so the drinks became watered down or unavailable from a very limited pool bar anyway. Food became even more repetitive then the “norm” the slide the last 2 days of our holiday wasn’t even on I ended up putting a hose pipe on it for the children left to go down the last 5 meters of the slide (I wouldn’t have let mine go any further as it’s unsafe and disrespectful ) hot chocolate ran out .. the tea machine was removed the sun loungers were packed away except for the ones we sat on daily the entertainment at night finished 3 days before we left!!! 1 day before we went the music in the day was gone too we bought our own phones out I paid for 14 nights all inclusive and got 11 the rest was weak watered down drinks (non alcoholic and alcoholic) and flat coke out of bottles as all the drink dispensers had been packed away guests that were left felt really uncomfortable so left the complex to go out so they “ could get on with packing away “ we felt very unwanted and like it was a real effort for everything the staff were exhausted and the enthusiasm was disappearing. I just wanted to go home myself at this point as we felt we were preventing them leaving or getting in the way. The final day the remaining 10 sun loungers were taken and packed away every meal then felt like we were a nuisance we all tried to keep the kids quiet and ended up again going “shopping”. The last 48 hours the WiFi was turned off .. yes the” free unlimited WiFi “ in the brochures was OFF. If they didn’t want us they shouldn’t have take our money for 14 nights !!!! Be warned you are right next to a beautiful mosque so your alarm call starts at 6am the first morning I jumped out of my skin but it’s beautiful and has a real nice feel to it outside we unfortunately never went inside. Would I go back yes.. I would but would not ever go back at the end of the season and only if the same entertainment team were there lol. As I said good start bad finish ..

I will start with the good which doesn't amount to a lot :- The bar/restaurant staff lovely. The quiet pool is nice but attention to area around it poor, pair of dirty socks left on wall for a week (still there when we left). The mat by steps to get in/out of pool had things growing in it. This was reported and cleaned but should have been changed as was still in bad order. There was other bits of rubbish and bottle lids that never moved so clearly the area was never swept. Rooms :- size not to bad but very dated, cleaning of rooms I'm not sure if this happened as bathroom mirror and wash basin had shaving foam and toothpaste still on it when we came back later in day (after CLEANER had been), bedside tables and dressing table had gathered about a half inch of dust by time we left (after two weeks). Bedding often had marks on it and the towels provided were either threadbare or hard like they had been starched. NOW THE WORST BIT OF ALL, THE FOOD (SLOP) To say the food was bad is the biggest understatement I have ever used, it was bland, tasteless, overcooked but cold and thrown together like it was cooked in the dark, very strange combinations that just didn't go together. Every lunch meal was a concoction of the night before left overs (chicken curry that had a sauce so bright green I'm sure it should of came with a radioactive sticker). Due to the food we ate out apart from breakfast (pancakes and omlette) can't muck that up surely. PS lots of very nice restaurants in resort area but added very large extra cost to holiday. Drinks at bar :- not good as the soft drinks for mixers were flat and so made drink taste bad. I could go on but I'm losing the will to live thinking about Ova Resort so will finish my review here. I'm sure opinions of this resort will differ from mine but we don't all have same taste and standards. 2 star resort at best with no stars for food. PS the entertainment we never watched but it sounded like something I imagine hearing at Broadmoor.

Was very pessimistic about going to this hotel, after changing it due to our original TC booking fell through (was meant to be going to Yel) The majority of reviews were about how disgusting the food was, but I am a fussy eater and always found something to eat. Our room was quite large, and overlooked Babadag Mountain (room 902) All the staff were absolutely great, and we had fresh towels every day, even though we hung them up, to save laundry. We pinched a couple of cups for a coffee on a morning, as they didn’t have them in the room? As it was in Term time there were a few children, but it was entertaining to watch them swim. We always got a sunbed, without getting up at daft o’clock. Other guests we met, were brilliant, and return yearly, so they must be doing something right. It’s really not too far to walk into Hisaronu. So on the whole, we both had a really lovely holiday. And would definitely return here again. Thank you Ova Resort for your services.
