This hotel, set on the sea front,is very imposing externally having attractive features such as stained glass windows and a mosaic entrance. However, internally the decor is dated and,in places, shabby. For example, the front door has a missing finger plate and the paint is peeling. The standard of cleanliness is high as is that of service.Breakfast was tasty and, considering the large number of guests, was served...

The price albeit November was very cheap and for a small addition, we upgraded to a sea-view room. It was excellent; looking out on the sea and shown on the pier, we could hear the waves as we drifted off to sleep. One corner of the room was a small turret with 4 windows. Decor pretty good. Being on the...

We paid the small surcharge to get a seaview - third floor room - warm and comfortable - slightly odd layout but I guess it's an old building that's been pulled around over the years - as someone else has...

This hotel is in a fantastic location overlooking the pier. It is close to the No 1 restaurant which was beautiful for an evening meal (upstairs). The rooms are ok, traditional and clean. The breakfast however left a lot to be desired. We booked through booking.com and when we arrived found out the room was the same price as on...

Stayed at the above last weekend, located on seafront opposite the pier and right in centre of the town. Our room had a sea view which was nicely decorated and very reasonably priced. The hotels decor in main reception area i feel is aimed at older generation, comfortable and cosy. The breakfast was very nice and hot!!! We would defiantly...

This once beautiful hotel does need some TLC but is very charming. We were delighted to see so many of the original features had been retained when last updated and sincerely hope these features are kept on the next update. Rooms are clean and staff are friendly. Overall a pleasant stay.
