The Grove is a Georgian family-run guest house, self-catering cottages and restaurant situated in four acres of gardens on the Norfolk coast. Set back from the road and with plenty of parking as well as a heated indoor swimming pool, we are ten minutes' walk from Cromer town centre and just a few minutes through woodland from the cliffs and beach.

So my wife and I stayed here for our anniversary, after a 2 1/2 hour drive we were pleased to get the key to our room and relax a little before our evening meal in the restaurant. We were guided through the hotel and shown the restaurant and bar before which looked very cosy and

Hello Bill Thanks for taking the time to write. I'm pleased you enjoyed the food and the room, and of course we have very quickly resolved the water pressure issue so all is now flowing nicely. And thanks for fixing the plug; I imagine your wife was delighted you'd brought your tools along for your anniversary away. You booked the only remaining room for that night (we are always very busy at weekends) and, as you say, it has a disabled-access bathroom. I can see this offended you but we have this specifically for people who, unlike you, are unable to use standard bathrooms and so have to use grab rails and handles to get themselves in and out of the bath (as opposed to any sado-masochistic purposes). Like you, I'm lucky enough not to have to rely on these but we have made every effort to make life as easy as possible for our guests who do. I find it difficult to imagine their discomfort and pain when trying to use a standard bathroom but I find it easy to see how pleased they are to find the appropriate facilities (as they tell us frequently). And of course there is no excuse for not having these things in place anyway. If your criticism (that 'isn't a criticism' but actually is a criticism) is that we offer the correct facilities for disabled guests then I am more than happy to hold my hands up to that. Anyway. Thanks again for the review. Richard

Are dogs welcome?
Hi Julie, We do allow dogs in our cottages, but not in the house. Hope that helps. The best way to book is by calling 01263 512412. Thanks, Chris
