My wife and I stayed for an extended weekend while attending a wedding in the area Unfortunately we got a room at the rear but to be fair no noise in the courtyard below and it was just somewhere to get our heads down, and only so many rooms can face the shore Breakfasts were excellent with a good choice We ate both nights and meals were great and good value for money Stuart the owner was under pressure due to staffing absences but did a great job keeping most people happy, although one couple not happy with wait but in my mind had an unreasonable attitude towards the staff and Stuart, which I believe was due to excess alcohol being drunk. Would definitely stay again Great value for money
A 3 night stay this time with the view from the room changing every few minutes. We've never seen it so windy and the river seemed to boil with the turbulence. We were warm and cozy in our room and very comfortable. Wifi is good in the rooms and in the restaurant areas. The food and service was excellent as usual. In fact this time on one of the days we had lunch downstairs with a lovely pint of Guinness. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. We're looking forward to our next stay already.
We live along from the Spinnaker and eat there regularly. I've just been reading some of the negative reviews and it makes me wonder what people actually expect from a small hotel. The food is good, the staff are friendly and efficient, You can even bring your dog. Great wee place . Keep up the good work .
Every effort was made to make my daughter, myself and two dogs comfortable and welcome. Stayed 3 nights and enjoyed a good meal each evening. Great location for ferries and Clydeside and super view from our room
Have been visiting The Spinnaker for almost 30 years and never had a bad stay. The rooms are warm, clean and comfortable and have been improved over the years to an excellent standard. Breakfast is informal with an extensive menu and all items cooked to order. No pre cooking and keeping under a heat lamp. Dining menu is extensive and again excellent quality. Something for everyone - try the steak pie! And the Spinnaker Banana Boat desert is to die for. Guiness and all other drinks are first class. And all this is provided by friendly attentive staff.
We interrupted our journey to The Hebrides (from Derbyshire) with a one night stay at The Spinnaker Hotel; we wished we had stayed longer. We arrived just before the start of the Thursday Quiz and the place was full. But we were greeted and accommodated by Stuart (manager) and allocated a table for dinner. Everything was highly satisfactory and we were grateful for the comfort of the room. Fraser looked after us in the morning at a hearty Scottish breakfast. We would like to return to this well run establishment.
Had a fantastic night stay here. Stuart, Fraser and staff are amazing and very helpful The cooked full Scottish breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. Would highly recommend a visit and will definitely return
We overnight on Saturday the 18th of September room was spacious and very clean, we had our small dog Frank with us and he was made very welcome also. The staff and locations of the hotel is excellent. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel the food was superb. Staff were friendly and welcoming nothing was too much trouble, the staff team work very hard (hotel was full with guests and locals) but they still made us feel special.
What a find! We knew we were in the right place from the word go as Fraser and the team were so helpful and friendly - from offering to help us with our bags on arrival to phoning me to tell me I had left my iPad in the room (!) - which was later packaged up and posted on to me, nothing was too much trouble. We had a very large room at the front with wonderful views across the Clyde - perfect for watching the sunset. There is no carpark but plenty of free onstreet parking right outside. We had a great evening meal and all at a fantastic price. Look forward to going back in the not too distant future.
As a family of four, with three dogs it’s often difficult to find somewhere so accommodating. We’d gone here on a recommendation from a friend who lived locally, it certainly didn’t disappoint. The employees are so relaxed and just know great service. The surroundings are really comfortable and it looks to have been recently redecorated. It has to be said the food matches. Whole and hearty is how we’d describe it. We had mushroom soup and their staple of lentil and bacon soup. Hot and really tasty. The steak pie was great too. Highly recommend s place, can’t wait to go back when we’re next in the area. Thanks for making it so easy for us.
