This has been a gem. We stayed for 4 days, our base for visiting various sites. The fully equipped kitchen is small but handy given this time of year and so much being closed. We brought games and books and enjoyed our evenings. We loved the fact that our dog could be with us. Beds are comfortable, everything clean and...

Beautiful, peaceful setting with lovely well-built cabins. The cabins are thoughtfully furnished and supplied, including a full kitchen with utensils. We especially loved the location, very near to tourist attractions but away from the crowded areas.

We had a great time visiting the Keystone area and staying at American Pines Cabins. It was so nice to come back for the day and relax in our own space. We also made many lunches and dinners right in the cabin instead of eating out all the time. This helped save money. Our kids enjoyed playing outside on the...

We made reservations here after realizing our original lodge had too small rooms. This cabin was ideal for the 4 of us with 2 small queen bedrooms and a pull out couch. There's not a lot of counter space in the kitchen area but we used the stove and fridge with no problems and also the outdoor grill. After buying...

We stayed here last week and we loved this place. It was very cozy, clean and in a great location . The train came by the cabins, we had deer and turkey visiting. We had two couples in the cabin and plenty of room. I would go back in a minute to stay.

We stayed here the week of Sturgis. The cabin is clean and spacious. We had five people and still comfortable. Nice kitchen area with table. Couch with TV. Two bedrooms. Air-conditioned and heat. Consistent WiFi. Quiet for sleeping. Lots of parking for trailers and bikes.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at American Pines. While we were literally just down the road from the town of Keystone, and 10 minutes from Mt Rushmore, it felt like we were truly staying in the middle of the Black Hills. The property was large, nicely kept and relaxing. The playground and basketball hoop were great for kids. The train...

We loved our all-too-brief stay at American Pines. Gorgeous cabin, cozy and comfortable. Friendly greeting and a very sweet dog, that our dog loved playing with. Perfect for camp fires and had a BBQ. Already hoping we can go back.

“We personally liked cabin #6, all the cabins came with gas fired outside grills and the ability to see the 1880 train pass by.”

“Ingersoll, Cabin #1, is close to the owner's home, so their pet dog sometimes runs over to greet you as you arrive. If you like dogs, that isn't an issue - the dog is friendly - but if you don't like dogs ask for another cabin.”

“All 6 cabins would be a good choice. There is a playground behind/between cabin 4 & 5, also 4,5,6 set in a large semi-circle, perfect for families traveling together.”
