Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent village pub dating back to the 17th century .The Landlord and Landlady are excellent hosts. They service excellent local ales ,which are kept very well .The outdoor patio and seating area overlooks the River Wye ,so lovely views whilst drinking and dining .Good pub grub and entertainment mainly at the weekend .

We had to find a new hotel after our hotel for over 20 years closed ahead of the Royal Welsh. We found a B&B in Glasbury and The Harp Inn was on their list of Great Places to eat. We booked a table for one of our nights. We were warmly greeted when we arrived, and a table had been reserved for us. I love Fish and Chips, and you cannot find anything like British Fish and Chips in the USA. We had two portions. My wife never drinks beer in the USA, but over here I order two pints, and let her take her choice. We were not disappointed. The Ales were tasty, and the fish and chips arrived fresh from the kitchen. I had them on three or four nights while in Wales, and I believe this was the tastiest of them all. Great meal, great service, and we were treated as honored guests. Can't give a better recommendation, and we hope to come again next year.

My husband and I were staying in Aberllynfi Guesthouse, just down the road, and we ended up popping in every evening: twice for dinner and once for drinks and dessert (after a slightly disappointing meal elsewhere). We absolutely loved it: a proper country pub, pleasantly busy (even mid-week) and with such a friendly atmostphere. The staff were lovely and the food was exactly what we needed after long days of walking! The desserts were a particular highlight – sticky toffee pudding, chocolate orange brownie and cheesecake were all delicious. We'll certainly be back next time we're in the area.

Stayed with some family with others staying down the road in The Bunkhouse, our hosts were relaxed and gave a genuine warm welcome throughout our stay. Lovely rooms, good beer and after being forced by my grandchildren to pop some shots the morning breakfast was most welcome. Proper pub, lovely clean rooms and perfect hosts plenty to be happy about Thanks

I didn't stay here but did have a cracking meal one evening and then returned for (just) some drinks the next evening as I really enjoyed the welcome and overall ambience of this pub. The menu understates just how good the food is when it's served. Definitely on my list of places to go back to.

I booked this for me and my partner as a weekend break. What a lovely place and the people who run it are equally lovely. The food was exceptional and nothing too much trouble. Would come back in a heartbeat. It’s a family run place and they try to accommodate everyone. Plus you can bring your dog. We had such a lovely time we didn’t want to leave. Andy and Sally are amazing

Really friendly and helpful hosts , the room was immaculately clean and an excellent breakfast in a beautiful area could not fault it at all and would recommend anyone to stay. I am planning on another visit to that area soon and would not hesitate to book again.

Very friendly welcome. Sally and Andy clearly want your stay to be as enjoyable as possible. They are very happy to sit and chat and cater to your every need. Food was very tasty and hot! Everywhere is clean and the room very comfortable. Ideal location for Hay on Wye which has so much to offer including the newly renovated castle. Views from the back of the pub are so relaxing offering lots of walking opportunities and places to explore. Would recommend this pub for the personal touches as a family run business. Unlike the chains.
