Aberllynfi House is a great (and spacious) B and B just by the River Wye with plenty of options for swimming, canoeing and walking nearby. The owners Tina and Dave have made very careful adjustments for the COVID-19 pandemic delivering generous and ample breakfast hampers to guests' rooms (they plan to return to serving breakfast in the dining room as soon as the rules allow) and reducing the number of rooms occupied at any one time plus leaving gaps between guests and deep cleaning. They are a very friendly couple and were kind and communicative throughout our stay going out of their way to help us with particular requests. It was wonderful to get away after months of lockdown. Recommended!

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. You are right, the breakfast hampers have proved to be a huge hit, so much in fact, that we think we will continue to offer them alongside the option of the dining room well into the future. Recent guests have all told us how reassured they have felt with the deep cleaning and social distancing arrangements. We are glad you stay met all of your requirements and hope to see you all again soon.

We had a wonderful week here. The owners, Tina and Dave, are just lovely and very welcoming. We had an attic room that was spacious, characterful, super comfy and spotlessly clean. It is very well run and the COVID 19 measures are spot on from the hand sanitizers to the breakfast hampers delivered bang on time to your room door each morning. Breakfasts were tasty, satisfying, well cooked and the vegan options were a great and welcome surprise. The house itself has stunning views down the river which can be enjoyed both from the terrace or the garden in front of it. Would definitely stay here again, it’s a little jewel and would highly recommend it.

Fabulous very spacious loft room with large bed, settee and seating area at one end and a dining table and chairs at the other. A lovely old house but with super modern and high end en suite. The impeccable covid precautions were unobtrusive and our breakfast hamper contained super breakfasts including a hot dish ( I had the ham and cheese omelette) which was super hot, yogurt, fresh fruit, muesli. toast etc plus tea and coffee. Wonderful location alongside the RIver Wye and set amongst lovely, peaceful countryside which felt a million miles away from "lockdown world"

We have stayed here in the past and just love the location, right on the banks of the River Wye. Plenty of parking spaces and all rooms have good views. This was our first visit post covid lockdowns and was part of a long roadtrip we had cancelled just as lockdown hit. It was a delight to discover how seriously and carefully Tina has thought about adapting Aberllynfi to make it a safe environment. At the time of our visit last week they were only using half of their rooms to ensure that the deep cleaning and airing could be done before the next guests arrived a few days later. We were in room 4 which is very big and in a private corridor with a private bathroom with both bath and shower. There are two comfortable armchairs and a table at the right height to enjoy breakfast in the room. This is ordered the night before. Including some hot choices, and delivered to the door at your chosen time. We ate in the empty dining room on the first morning but when I saw how well presented and prepared the food was in the cute crate we chose to have delivered to the room for the next 2 mornings. There is now a decent size fridge and there was fresh milk and complementary welsh cakes there for our arrival. The room is not serviced during your stay but a text or whatsapp or call for fresh milk, tea bags and towels gets an immediate response. There is no problem with bringing in food to the room, or having it delivered and you can ask for plates and cutlery. Comfortable bed. Any comments and criticisms are welcomed which is always encouraging. We will definitely book again when we visit our relatives who live in the area. Ev

I can't recommend the Aberllynfi guesthouse enough. We had a lovely welcome from Tina who owns it with her husband. She was a lovely host, friendly and helpful. Everything felt very safe with and was well organised with safe practices for covid. Our room was so lovely with an incredible view over the river Wye. My husband loves fishing and he could fish in front of the hotel itself in a beautiful stretch of water.
The room was spotless with a modern bathroom, extremely comfortable bed and tea/coffee making facilities including a mini fridge which was great for a cold bottle of wine to enjoy the view with.
Breakfast was 10/10 with a loaded hamper with delicious omelettes or other hot choices, fresh coffee, pastries, fruit salad and more.
There is lots to do in the local area, Glasbury is a lovely village and it's only 10 mins drive from Hay on Wye. There are beautiful walks in the brecon beacons, which are only a short drive away too. I would really recommend a stay here.

We stayed from 23rd July. Aberllynfi House was an excellent choice for our two night break. We wanted to be close to the river Wye but our paramount concern was health safety at this time. Every precaution appears to have been taken and we felt very safe.
Breakfast was served in a hamper and left outside our bedroom door. It was delicious and it was lovely being able to eat at a table in our room. Tina explained everything when we arrived and our contact was by text or phone which is such a brilliant idea. The attic room was spot on with a very comfy bed and an amazing shower in the ensuite. The only extra thing I would have liked was some bottled water in the room. Thank you so much for our lovely break I really can't fault anything.

Thank you very much. Your feedback means a great deal to us. We had removed bottled water in a bid to cut down on single use plastics. In this new normal, we will certainly give this some thought. Hope to see you again soon.

Situated in a stunning location with beautiful views over the Wye, there is much to like about this place. The building is old and quirky with hardly a straight line to be seen and yet it has been lovingly restored and decorated to a high standard.

We stayed in a loft room with an enormous, very comfortable bed and views to both sides of the property. Very spacious, beautifully decorated and lovely old beams to admire.

Water pressure for the shower was a little low, but manageable. Also the nearby road can get a bit lively and noisy at rush hour but it's never too intrusive.

Breakfasts are brilliant. You get a standard pastry/toast/tea/coffee/ceral/yoghurt /fruit juice/fruit selection and can choose another warm item, such as a sausage or bacon and egg bap. Bacon is highly recommended!

Friendly owners and a lovely area. Highly recommended.

We stayed her recently and Tina and Dave couldn’t have done anymore. They had gone out of their way to adhere to the COVID guidelines and it was a really comfortable place to stay. The house is wonderful- lots of character and a location/view that is hard to beat. The riverside location is just beautiful and we spent time on the terrace watching the river and the swans. Glasbury is nice and we went to local pubs in Llyswen and Glasbury itself as part of the ‘eat out to help out’ scheme. Hay is only a short drive away. Breakfast was a highlight. Tina and Dave were wonderful hosts; friendky, informative and helpful. Highly recommended.

We visited for a weekend visit and had a really nice stay. The property has stunning views of the river Wye and is located in easy reach of Hay on Wye, Brecon and not too far for mid-Wales so a really good place to stop.
The staff were lovely and very welcoming and accomodating - especially when traffic meant we arrived later than planned.
The breakfast was great, with a good choice, and again they were very accomodating of variations to the choice.
The room had good facilities, with cold water and fresh milk in a fridge in the room as well as the usual tea/coffee provision.

We have stayed at Aberllynfi House twice this year and had a wonderful time on both occasions. The house is very attractive with wonderful views from its bedrooms and garden over the River Wye. The rooms themselves are very comfortable and beautifully furnished. Tina and Dave are very friendly hosts who serve delicious breakfasts and are very happy to help with local information. We certainly hope to visit again.
