This is a great destination for vegans Sunday lunch, wonderful Herby leek and potato pie and a best ever tasted nut roast with Wensleydale and cranberry. Vegan and gluten free. Pizza can also be vegan and gluten free. Two Great deserts too. It's very popular so booking is assential.

we stopped in the village for 3 nights at a lovely Airbnb and visited the first night and had a drink in the bar Very friendly and helpful barmaid. We booked a table for the following evening for food and hoping to watch the Wolves V Man U match as it was advertised as being shown. We also booked for the carvery for the Sunday. The bar was very pleasant and nice beer. However, we turned up for our meal the following evening and the table had to be 'reset' as the local football team had been in and messed it up. Our table was booked for 5pm and we eventually got served at 5.40. Its definitely a local family pub and no atmosphere at all. We asked if we could have the match on as it was showing rugby but apparently, we were overruled by other customers so had to have the rugby on. The meal itself was delicious and the staff in the pub are really nice and friendly - it just wasnt that nice a dining experience unfortunately. We decided against the carvery the following day which was a shame because we were looking forward to it

We went to the Wynnstay for Lunch on the Sunday, a meal at £9.95, where better can you go. The main course, a choice of Turkey or Beef or both, then help yourself to the many vegetables plus the best baked potatoes I've tasted, no limit to how much you stack ones plate. They get between 80 & 120 people each Sunday. Well worth a visit, and like me you'll be back. Sadly the Hotel only offers meals from Thursday to Sunday. No Accommodation.

I never ever write reviews for places but after visiting Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant this weekend and being so happy with our visit to the Wynnstay Hotel I felt compelled to write something. The staff are very friendly and know me able about stuff to get up to in the area, the first night we stayed in the village they were having a charity Quiz night that we took part in and was good fun but very tough, Karen behind the bar also informed us that there was a carvery on a Sunday but that we should book because it gets very busy so we did just that. We had other food there on the Friday and Saturday which was great, homemade, pub grub that was very tasty, my girlfriend is vegetarian and said the nut roast is excellent in particular. On the Sunday we arrived a bit early for the carvery and were looked after by a guy called “Sparky” who was great value, very friendly, approachable and helpful. The carvery itself was brilliant, with the meat being supplied by the local butchers just across the road it was so much better than one of the chain ones and all the food was fresh and so tasty, we liked it so much that we’re thinking of making the drive over for the day on a Sunday to come!
