My wife and I stayed with Ron and Mimi during a 3 day getaway to Natchez for a little downtime. Accommodations were great, breakfasts were superb (you have to try those blueberry pancakes!), and our hosts' knowledge of the area was more than we could have hoped for. Really enjoyed the stay and would definitely recommend their B&B as a...

A bit late, but nonetheless sincere! My husband and I, with friends from England, stayed at the Wensel House for four days in October. The house is lovely and our rooms were very pleasant, providing for good sleep. The breakfast was delicious, especially the small home-made biscuits and blueberry pancakes. Each morning, I had to remind myself to take small...

Charming Victorian B&B with reasonable rates. The hosts who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfy. Great breakfast. Many sights within walking distance. We were in the first room (upstairs), big enough for our luggage plus a more that roomy bathroom. My personal drawback was street noise. But I’m really sensitive to noise, so if...

Thanks for writing a review. Mimi and I really appreciate it. Thanks for mentioning the warm welcome, the convenient location, and the breakfast. Though I'm sorry your sleep was interrupted by the road noises in your room, I am glad that you included that in your review. It gives me an opportunity to let prospective guests know that we have...

A very nice Victorian era house (built in 1881 I assume). Our room had a nice 4 poster bed and a large bathroom. Everything was very clean. The wrap-around porch was great for sipping the complementary wine in early evening. As noted in other reviews, a very nice breakfast. A good location in general, and very close to Rosalie (one...

Pros: Excellent location, half a block from the bluff, almost next door to Rosalie mansion and the Pig Out Inn Barbecue (both highlights of our trip). Large, immaculate rooms with nice private baths. Great breakfast, especially the blueberry pancakes. Hosts are very knowledgeable about historic preservation and very helpful about sightseeing. We had a great time in Natchez and would...

What a great review. Thanks for taking the time to write an accurate review. Also, thanks so much for including both the pros and cons, especially for noting that the rooms are on the second floor and that the thermostat is shared by all three rooms. Our guests take turns setting it and sometimes the preferences of one guest are...

The Wensel House was highly recommended by a friend and even exceeded our expectations. Lovely and spacious room and outstanding and knowledgeable innkeepers. The location couldn't be better and the breakfast was wonderful. Be sure to check out the "before" photos of the house. The owners have done an amazing job of restoration.

Thanks, Cindy, for sitting down and writing us a review. Many thanks for the kind remarks. I'm glad you were happy with your choice and I'm gratified that you liked our baby pictures of the house before our renovation in 1985. Come on back sometime. We would be delighted to see you again.

After a long road trip through a 500 year storm in southern Louisiana, we found refuge at the 1888 Wensel House B&B. On our way to the B&B, I called the innkeeper, Ron, and inquired whether we could leave our bags when we arrive at 10:00 a.m. Imagine my surprise when he told me that the would leave a key...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The restored Victorian house is conveniently located for walking, being only a block from the park along the edge of the park overlooking the river and only 4 blocks from the center of town. The three guest rooms are on the 2nd floor. Each has 2 beds (Queen & Single) and a private "en suite" bathroom adjoining just that room. A full breakfast is freshly-cooked each morning (eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, home-made biscuits, blueberry pancakes, fresh fruit, orange juice, & coffee or tea). Wine, soft drinks, and fresh fruit are gratis and are available any time. You help yourself to Franzia Chardonnay in a box in the refrigerator and to soft drinks and purified water and ice in the bar at the foot of the stairs. Your hosts enjoy providing you with guidance on what to see and where to eat and drink. A free, small, secluded, private, on-site parking lot is located behind the house, at the end of Wensel Street. ... more   less
