I have just returned following two nights with friends. The hotel is small and is therefore very quiet . Staff very pleasant and helpful. Rooms recently upgraded and very comfortable .Views great.

The hotel is very comfortable but be aware it isn't suitable for anyone unable to climb steps. The room we had was small but clean. However there were some maintenance issues.
I think the bath towels provided were really small
There was no in room information about the tourist sites or things to do.
The breakfast was excellent and the staff really kind and helpful.

We arrived at 3:00; check in time, and requested help with our luggage- up the stairs. We were told that the porters were on a break. We shlepped our luggage upstairs ourselves. The room was small, cramped, no view, no amenities at all, not even a picture on the wall. They were careful about corona, the “pool” had a sign up sheet for every half hour. We skipped it, it is extremely small and uninviting. Breakfast was adequate. The view off the terrace is lovely.

I had to leave the hotel because the room didn't have proper hot water, it felt moldy and my breathing felt impaired despite opening the windows which brought mosquitoes because the windows weren't fully screened. I couldn't sleep because the bed was uncomfortable as well.

Hotel management leaves at 9:30pm leaving guests to wonder what is considered an emergency as they state on the front door.

I had a very unpleasant experience and management was not accommodating - if anything, they made me feel worse than I already had. I paid more than $500 for two nights, only stayed in the property for a bit over 12 hours and wanted to make sure that others are aware of my experience to consider carefully before making the decision to do business with this hotel. The reception I received from management was one of arrogance and lack of hospitable behavior, which is not something one desires while on holiday.

Response from Hotel Beit Maimon Hotel Beit Maimon, Owner at Hotel Beit Maimon
Responded 31 Jul 2022
Thank you for staying with us, Hot water is available 24/7 just need to turn the tap to the correct side as clearly marked on it. We use top quality matrasses from Aminach and have only positive remarks about sleeping experience from our guests. All windows are perfectly screened when closed properly. A room change was offered but declined. Our staff is happy to assist at all times. Your friends at Hotel Beit Maimon

We took 2 rooms at the hotel at the recommendation of our local relatives. When they arrived to join us for lunch - the owner himself tried to jack up the price of lunch by 200% for them!! The relatives left to find lunch elsewhere. After our lunch (we were almost the only ones there), we asked for one cup of tea from the teapot that was there. The answer - again from the owner himself, Mr Maimon, was "you have to pay for it extra, Buy it at the bar." I thought he was joking. He was not.

Bottom line - nice location. Cheap owner. Lousy service. Left with bad feeling. Next time will stay at one of the other places in Zichron Yaakov.

I have stayed in youth hostels in Israel which beat this place hands down.
You must climb 20 steps just to get to the lobby and check in - rooms are another flight (or more) up and there is no elevator so with my arthritic knees, I wasn't thrilled.
The rooms are small, bathrooms are tiny. The mattress is firm and pillows are adequate, blankets are thin - nothing poofy, luxurious or pampering about anything in the room.
wifi costs an extra 30 shekels per day (access is free in the lobby).
There was an ever so slight smell of mildew in our room, barely covered by an overpowering, somewhat nauseating room freshener.
Construction is currently being done all over the street where this hotel is located so we were awoken before 8 a.m. by the sounds of power drills and hammering.
The view from the restaurant/terrace is very pleasant and the breakfast was fine (though they had no eggs when we were there).
I got a greatly discounted rate - if I had paid full price I would have been extremely disgruntled. As it is, was OK for the reduced rate but I would neither return nor recommend.

This facility was recommended by a travel agent as a "decent" hotel. While her advise was right on in all the other hotels, she couldn't have been more wrong about this place.

The hotel is situated on a hill with a nice view of the ocean. To enter the hotel we had to climb a long flight of stairs, there is no elevator.

We were met by a very disinterested desk clerk - by far the worst we delt with in Israel. We were given a room key and sent up yet another flight of stairs. No offer to help with baggage for my and my 2 children.

The room was small with a view of a dirt pile. The airconditioner did not work and the ammenities were minimal to say the least. The amazingly thin towels were in very limited supply, but most importantly, the bathroom was a joke. The "shower" consisted of a corner of the bathroom with movable glass partions. When we first entered the room we noticed a squeegee on a broom handle in the corner of the bathroom. I assumed it was left behind by housekeeping and placed it outside the room. I was wrong.

After taking a shower, I found the entire bathroom floor flooded with 1/2 inch of water. The squeegee was - as I was told in no uncertain terms by the extemely unhelpful desk clerk - there for us to push the water towards the semifunctional drain after each use.

Aside from the bathroom, the room had a musty smell and an overall sense of being poorly maintained.

The restaurant (our stay included free breakfast) was again, the worst we experienced in Israel. Hot food offerings were malt-o-meal, and two types of eggs - yellow and grey. We never found out what made the grey eggs grey but if you eat there, trust us and stay away from them.

The location of the hotel is the other weakness. The town of Zichron Ya'akov has a nice little town center with interesting restaurants and nice shops. Unfortunatly, it is a 20+ minute walk from the hotel and near the hotel there is NOTHING but private homes.

Overall, this is a must miss hotel. I like a nice place but am usually OK with just a decent bed and shower. This place offered neither - with poor service and lousy food to boot.

This hotel is fairly run-down (our hearts dropped when we saw it) and its rooms and facilities are rather sad - not much of a view, a cramped bathroom, and no attractive fixings in the rooms; not much of a lobby; and a shabby, not terribly warm jacuzzi. But the staff is helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was quite good. At, say, $100 a night, I would have been quite satisfied - it stacks up to a US Best Western pretty well - but at $200 a night, I felt that we really did not get good value. I had thought of this as a romantic splurge for my wife and I, and our adult children, but it wasn't that at all.
